Our go-to place for rum, vodka, specialty beers, wine, Spanish sherry, etc. Wide selection of craft brews. I've been shopping at this BevMo for eight or nine years. My boyfriend's father and grandfather both love Scotch, grandmother loves Irish whiskey, we love the plastic bottled rum (for making rum cake). We come here so that we can get them a different scotch and Irish whiskey for their birthdays and Christmas every year. The cold case beer selection is pretty slim, especially when you want to try something other than the usual suspects. The cashier carded me and my boyfriend, even though he was the one paying. Luckily, I had my wallet with me, but generally I don't bring my wallet when I am tagging along to go to the store. I don't tag along on alcohol purchasing trips often, so I'm not familiar with the law regarding carding everyone in the group. Anyways, the customer service is otherwise good. Sorry guys, hate to give a not so positive review since you have pleased me in the past, but now you have a new competitor in town, two exits south of ya. They may be winning over your clientele.. Bevmo was my go to spot because they have a decent selection of beers and other beverages. There are a few that are always available, and at times i would find new-to-me names there. As of lately i haven't been so thrilled with my trips to bevmo. Not because of the beer selection but a particular employee who doesn't seem to enjoy being there, or so it seems. I was a lil curious to how a person could purchase a dozen bottles, which were brought to the register in a hand basket, be checked out and not even offered a bag or box to carry the bottles out. I realize the employee is trying to work fast and hurry up to keep the line from building up, but why should the customer need to ask for a box or bag when it is very obvious that carrying 12 glass bottles with 2 hands is not really going to work well. In turn, it is counterproductive because when you thought you were done with the customer, they are standing there wondering how they can carry the merchandise, and you have to stop and help them when you could have avoided that... unfortunately it is just one employee with the stink attitude. The others are cool and genuinely cheerful. Like seriously, sneak off and take a sip of some alcohol and cheer up, or at the very least, just be thorough from start to finish. I dont need anyone to be fake and pretend to be nice, i used to be a cashier before, i know how it goes and how it can be when you don't want to be at work. I once wondered if the person was like that just towards me, but i saw that it wasn't the case, and it is not personal. I understand having to work is a drag, but it is also the job of management to notice thier employees attitude, and maybe reassign that individuals task so they can be happy and more useful in other areas. Who am i to say how to run a business though. With that being said, bevmo is still cool, and selection is decent, but now with options within a few miles with a lot of checkstands open... you can fill in the rest.. 3 stars because of customer service (an individual) and another option in town that is now overshadowing your selection. read more

Not bad. I am a beer snob, and while this BevMo isn't bad... it could be better. Train the staff to not use the phrase, " Not my Job." and this would be my favorite locale. I live 5 minutes walking distance away, but I'd rather drive to Sunnyvale.. nicer staff, better selection. read more

Very nice store. Clean, well organized, spacious and great customer service. I was able to get done all of my shopping for my company holiday party in one swoop with three carts full of beverage both alcoholic and non. I got great service and it was quick. The staff was very helpful they directed me to the right departments,offered some assistants but were not up in my business which is something I hate when I am shopping. After check out I got some assistance with my over stuffed carts and the nice guy even loaded up my car! I would shop here again anytime! read more

The worst Experience ever! I will never come back here. We (two adults) were rejected from making a purchase because we were with someone who was under 21. When we asked why we couldn't purchase the single beer after showing him our IDs, the cashier said it was because we had someone with us who was under 21. Then he claimed that once we were at the counter together, it was considered a "group purchase." I asked him why that rule or condition about group purchases wasn't clearly plastered at the entrance. He pointed to a sign (picture attached) that it is. But no where on this sign does it say that. It says that if the person under 21 is with an adult, they can enter the store. This statement seems to assume that the accompanied minor can also go to the purchasing counter with said adult(s) as well. Eh. The cashier guy just took his job too seriously. We bought a keg for my bachelors party here and we took it all the way to santa cruz to find out they gave us the wrong tap. We ended up getting the right one at the local bev mo in santa cruz which was also very helpful in changing it out for us after store hours so we could enjoy the keg for our party that night. We brought back the orginal tap to this fremont location and they were very understanding for the mishap and gave us a free 12 pack for the inconvenience. We did not expect them to give us any kind of compensation. We love bevmo. Pretty much any one you go to should be awesome. read more

Who does not love BevMo? They have funky sodas for the kids and the designated drivers, they have a pretty good wine selection that does not suck up your wallet, great selection of microbrews and imports of beers, and they can fulfill 95% of my liquor needs. Okay, they might not be the cheapest in terms of prices but they have got stuff that you can't find or is hard to find. The only downside is they don't have some of the bar-ware I need, mainly a muddler for my mojitos and mint juleps. read more

Great selection, great staff. So why only 4 stars? While I love Bev Mo, they COULD be cheaper. Prices at the chain are not always the best, but their vast selection often makes up for it. But again, while vast, you'll be hard pressed to find a pinotage wine here. But a thumbs up for their selection of Belgian beers. Fremont's BevMo is Disneyland to wine lovers. The Saturday tastings are run by Bob, a very knowledgable and engaging sommelier (and the tastings are $2.00). Their prices and selection are by far the best in the area. And, I've been to other BevMos in the Bay. None have the selection and helpful staff that they have in Fremont. read more

Please Fire This Man!!! There is a man who works there who is a rude, despicable human being. I did not catch his name but he is a heavyset, aging asian man with a mustache. This man is always rude, never smiles and walks off from the register when customers are waiting. I have seen him do this a number of times I have visited. Most recently he acted really annoyed when the person in the front of the line asked a legitimate question about vodka. He then walked away and pretended to look at bottles for about 5 minutes until another attendant came by. Then he came over and decided to take over again. I was disgusted by his behavior and walked out right away. Do not got to the Mowry BevMo. Great service. Everyone is super friendly. Especially a girl named Angel. She was so sweet and answered all of our questions. She even recommended me and my wife try a new wine. It's not very common in today's society to be treated with pure kindness. She made us feel really appreciated as customers. Everyone here seems to be very friendly and the prices are great. I just came in with my older brother to get a liquor bottle for my grandpas birthday, while entering there is a sighn up front that says, must be 21 to enter unless occompanied by a adult so everything is fine for me to enter the store. while at the cash register my brother showed his ID and he is 25 so everything was fine but the cashier wanted to ask for my ID i believe guessing that my brother was buying me the liquor which he was not, who would bring a minor in with them to buy the minor liquor bottle for them. And it is illegal for someone to do so. But i really think the workers should know the rules and laws a lot better about their job, so therefore Bevmo has lost my family's business and will no longer be coming or buying from them again. read more

Wow. I have never been treated so poorly at a Bevmo. The customer service is total shit. I tried asking the manager if they carried a certain beer, I mean I was looking right as him when I asked, and he ignored me and had an associate answer. While he was answering me, the manager made him walk away. I wasn't greeted by anyone working the floor. No one asked if I needed any help finding anything. You know, the basic things you'd expect from any store. When I got up to the counter, my friend was checking out and I was waiting off to the side. The woman rudely asked for my identification and when I asked why, she copped an attitude and said it was the law. That's fine with me but you honestly don't have to make it personal. I have never experienced such blatant disregard for a customer in any of the Bevmos that I've been to. I just left that establishment at 12:50 on Sunday, the 28th of April. Have only been here once, on May 25th, and it was single handedly one of the worst customer experiences I've had. After receiving zero help, the awful cashier REFUSED my business because my girlfriend was one year shy of 21. I, however, am 21 and it made no difference. She hit me with the biggest bs ever. Apparently (non indicative by ANY sign nor on their site) Bevmo has the right ro refuse service to anyone in the "purchasing party" that does not have ID. A PURCHASE PARTY?!
