Mini tote bags for Easter are here . 4 colors ( pastel pink , green , blue , lilac )

This is the only Trader Joe in this area . People from Newark , Union City , Hayward all drive to this location . This is the week they put out the mini canvas tote bags for Easter . They come in four pastel colors : green , blue , pink and lilac . Each customer is limited to one set of four. The line is crazy long , like 2-3 blocks long . Some people came as early as 5 am . The store opens at 8 am each morning. They have huge boxes of supply so everyone in line got the bag. I came at 8:01 am and went to the end of the line . But I got my bags within 20 minutes . Happy Easter !

The staff are very friendly here! I like shopping here especially during Christmas time because they have all these little sweet/chocolate goodies for decent white elephant gifts. I saw a few new items that looked very tempting to buy.

Great Customer Service. I love the majority of items I try. Good quality for a good price. They have a wonderful selection of seasonal items. At this moment my family and I love the Maple Cold Foam, which is seasonal. They have a few delicious frozen Indian food options, chicken vindaloo, masala, butter chicken and garlic naan. The garlic naan is my least favorite of those as its texture is not quite restaurant style. Here's What I Think... It's worth a visit to your local Trader Joe's, especially during the Holiday season.

I absolutely love this location! Very close to home, service is great and everything is perfectly stocked! Can't wait for the next visit!

    These are sooo goood!

If you haven't tried their frozen chicken teriyaki and frozen kung pao (bags) then you need to. Been coming here for over a decade for these frozen goodies. They are available year round but they always have good seasonal items too! Today I grabbed a bag the the strawberry fields gummy candy and they are sooooo goood :)

I'll take one in every color!

I love TJ's just as much as the next person. But this location often times doesn't have inventory of different products. I'm saying this relative to other locations in the Bay Area. Every time that I visit Castro Valley, or venture into the Peninsula to the Redwood City location, they always have things that we don't here. That's my only big gripe. That and people are reckless in the parking lot so be mindful and don't be on your phone when you're walking from your car to the front door of the store. Other than that, it's everything any TJ's is with its core products, and probably more popular- seasonal items! It's also probably my favorite grocery chain to purchase flowers from. The peonies never disappoint!

I only go there for their seasonal and cultural food products, produce, lean meats, and sometimes treat myself to a bouquet. It's my motivation to eat healthier with meal prep options. I try to stay away from sweets as much as possible because it's too sugary for me. This store may be small, but I always see the crew unpacking products every hour and they're always available for questions in every aisle. They even conversate with you while bagging your groceries, which is rare in other grocery stores. Plus everything is neat and organized. Parking is spacious, yet you need to watch out for the gypsies or panhandlers and hectic parking during afternoons and evenings. I recommend going between Tuesday and Thursday mornings to get the limited products to beat the long lines. The seasonal products usually run out before lunchtime.

The lines are named after their city streets

Decided to stop in and grab a few things I needed and wanted. The street name check stands is a unique concept.

    So cute!

Always busy. Found this cute little pumpkin, it's like a scavenger haunt in there! So creative, way to go!!!!

The next morning, I noticed that my total had not changed. And I was still being charged for the pizza even though it was unavailable, and I didn't pick it up. I had received no email or notice from the app saying they would refund the pizza. So I called at 5am the next morning and there was no manager on site until 7am. So I went down in person to inquire with a manager about how the refund process works on an online pickup order when an item can't be fulfilled. I talked to Dane and he referred me to Lorenzo, who was the online grocery pickup order lead. I was explaining to him how I didn't get any notice of a.Refund being sent at all and with any other place. When you do online pickups, and they can't fulfill part of your order, they automatically start a refund process or notify you. Apparently the safeway app does not. I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be charged for it. I told him it sucks that I had to waste my gas and my time to come down here to find this out. And at this point lorenzo told me "well, you should have called". I said I did call at 5am and there was no manager here. And they told me nobody would be here until seven am. And at this point, his attitude changed, and Lorenzo started lecturing me on everything that I should have done that I already did, which is not how you handle talking to a customer. I have worked in customer service for twenty four years and if I talked to my customer like this, my boss would write me up and fire me within two minutes flat. He also told me "well, you should have called later." I told him well you know how long it took to get any department to answer the phone when I did call? About five minutes and calling back four times and talking to different departments. I did not appreciate his attitude and the gall to tell me and lecture me what I should be doing during my day. The proper response would have been "I Apologize. I'm sorry that the app didn't let you know, but yes, it will refund in a few days". But he had to be unprofessional and get an attitude and get in my business, which is not his job and not how he should be acting at his job with customers. A terrible employee that clearly needs retraining on how to interact with customers. I work 2 jobs and I work really hard.I do not need a Lead at Safeway telling me what to do in my life or how to do it. That's none of your business.

Raley's, a shrinking brand here in this part of the bay, still holds a large footprint in downtown Fremont. Benefiting from the big parking lot shared by many eateries, cafes, and specialty stores and entertainment, the grocery chain welcomes many to its storefront and keeps them coming back with their weekly deals. Some of the parking spots are tight but there are spaces all around the shopping center if you're willing to walk. But once you're settled, head on inside and be prepared to shop! Be sure to join their free membership to maximize savings (aside from their weekly deals, they have some specials on Mondays and during holidays). A jarring sight, however, is the security officer standing watch at the front entrance which makes you wonder if their presence is due to a necessity or simply a security protocol for deterring that necessity. From all the visits I've made, the security personnel are just as friendly as the store's staff who are frequently traversing through sections to restock, check inventory, and help customers. As you continue walking in, you'll pass the dining space and prepared food section where you'll find fried foods, stirfrys and soups sitting in warmers. Nearby food stations also host a good collection of more freshly prepared foods and a deli for sandwiches. The prices can be decent with their added discounts at times, but I've yet to be hungry enough to try. The biggest impression for me at this store is their dedicated produce section. Organics as well as fruits and vegetables of the season are in full display, vibrant in color and heaped in abundance. Some of their more perishable produce may be found in the chilled cases on the side. In addition, I'm a big fan of their seafood and meats section as the staff behind the counter are friendly and helpful. The selection can be minimal during peak times but the quality seems to be pretty good for the value. Their bread, cereal, and coffee sections are also well stocked and we've also been able to find some solid pumpernickel bread as well as Dutch crunch French bread. After perusing the store and piling your cart, you'll head to the registers, however in all my visits so far, we have been able to use the self checkout which, for the most part, has been a good experience. The staff float around and are helpful in the event that an item needs to be cancelled or a SKU needs to be looked up. A few areas of improvement would include their water fountains by the bathrooms which haven't worked in our visits and general bathroom upkeep. Overall, Raley's does a great job welcoming folks near and far to their well stocked store, serving fresh and on-sale items. The store is organized and frequently refreshed with new stock by their band of employees roaming the aisles with smiles. You'll also find that patrons here are quite friendly - almost a neighborly feel to it. If you're in the area and need a quick bite or a pantry run, Raley's has what you need and for a good price, too!
