Nice location. Used to sell Mount Gay Extra Old Rum, didn't have it for months. I asked for it repeatedly, but it was stuck in AZ for some reason. Obviously people were buying it if the shelf was empty and at least one person was asking for it. Great selection of rums, from the white rums to the very nice dark rums. Bevs & More is great for me. Better than Costco. Seriously, the prices of wine is great at Costco, don't get me wrong. The problem is I want to "refresh" our bar, not open it for business so I prefer not to purchase oversized containers to get a better price. Plus, if you are having a child friendly event, you can't beat the variety of soda. Not the common soda's, but the smaller sodas made around the county, they often refer to as "retro". Where else can you get Caribbean crème with a hint of coconut and vanilla bean. Or how about mango, lilikoi, pineapple, banana or bubble gum. They also have a good selection of healthier options, but you are only a kid once. Good selection of glassware and decanters too. Wait for sales, they always have them. Ask a sales person. One manager stopped me from buying a replacement box of wine glasses and told me there was a 50% off sales in a few days. Sale? I'm there. Nice touch of service. If you are a collector of wine or fine liquor they have some amazing choices in the glass cases. Everything you need for a party, no matter how small. Don't forget the pink paper umbrellas! We all know Bevmo is great. This location is where my husband works, so it's my favorite! Plus, the beer tasting expert really knows his stuff. They are helpful and friendly and it's always fun to stop in and get new stuff. At the recent sale I got amazing prices on specialty Vodka and a case of wine (5 cents for every other bottle!) They have great gift ideas, gift cards and wrapping that's perfect. If you just have time to spend, it's a great place to hang out and see what's new. I consider this to be a good way to break my yelping silence. The lack of a fifth star is merely a protection against the "greatnesses to come" from smaller, independently-owned facilities that receive a more gracious review due to their intimacy and individuality. However, do not let that be a deterrant from visiting this BevMo!, because it really does rock. BevMo selections are wonderful, everything from top-shelf single malts, to a step-stopping display of small batch sodapops, to an inspiring array of craft brews, a healthy selection of absinthes and the ever awesome wine selection, especially during 5-cent sale days. The staff at this one in particular is fantastic. They're courteous, knowledgeable and full of initiative for finding the right comforts for your tastebuds. I have been able to make special orders and they have searched everywhere in the local, BevMo chains to find some of my harder-to-find, but favored spirits. Friday Night Beer Tastings with Rachael [sp] have become a favorite hobby of mine, she's personable and always provides an eclectic selection of the week's genre. All-in-all, with Good Times and the Bruery being too far to be "local", all things default to BevMo! and that's hardly something to cry about. read more

This is one of my all-time favorite Bev-Mos. And I have been to plenty to know the difference. They are located right off of Greenfield, between the 73 and CVP (Crown Valley Parkway). Friendly, always helpful, eager to make sure you get your frequent buyer discount... even if they have to look up your information online for you. I know it took them a while to do it for me, but they modified a card I obtained about four years ago and hooked it up with my Carlsbad phone number as I don't live in the area any longer. Great select of alcohol and the staff is wonderful. I have been going to BevMo locations and this is the newest and I really enjoyed going here. Gotta love 5cent Sale - $100 for a case of above average wine. Plus all the liquor you could ever shop for (love to browse wine labels). If you are looking for that something special (ie bar tools, special mixers, bitters, liquers) they will have it (as opposed to limited supply at your local supermarket). Not big on corporate retail, but these guys are better than most. Only way to get better is to on-line shop (which you can at Bev-Mo) and get free shipping. Check out Liquorama... I love how they have wine tastings on Fridays and Saturdays in the early afternoons...just $3.00 per person. Great taste of a few wines and a few beers so you can try before buying...and maybe even get a slight and pleasant afternoon buzz going. :) The employees doing the tastings are usually nice enough. Not always all that talkative or necessarily knowledgeable in what they are serving. You just have to taste it and decide for yourself. The cashiers are decently helpful and cheerful for the most part. I'm sure the job is pretty repetitive, but I really enjoy coming here. No complaints. And of course, a good selection of everything and anything alcohol-related! read more

Ok, so Im 23 years old, OLD ENOUGH to buy alcohol, but I went with my MOM to the store so SHE could buy GLASSES and CHAMPAGNE for an event, and I just went in because I didn't want to stay in the car, OBVIOUSLY. SO, I carried 2 glasses for my mom throughout the store and she carried her mini bottles of champagne. We got to the counter and SHE grabbed a bottle of Viniq (that was already on the counter for a promo) and added it to her transaction. ERIC was the name of the worker ringing her up, and asked ME for my ID........UM...WHY. I said no, I didn't bring it with me, because why would I bring my whole purse to the store because IM NOT BUYING ANYTHING and Im a girl who carries a big bag with a big wallet, any time I dont need to lug that thing around, I don't. But that's besides the point- Why the hell do you need to see my ID? Im not the one handing you money....Im not drinking it. Im just standing here..accompanying my mom. Well, ERIC was really, really rude and said that he couldn't sell it to my mom because I don't have an ID. After standing there really confused, I walked out and my mom probably went back and forth with him, until coming outside and handing me some money and telling me to walk across the parking lot to start ordering dinner, so I did. Apparently when she went back in she had to 'pretend' it was a new transaction and when my mom questioned that policy- ERIC didn't care to explain anything. He just said 'I dont know if thats your daughter or not, you could be buying her the drinks.' OK.... my mom got really offended. First of all, why question our relationship? Why does that matter? And second, why accuse my mom of being a criminal and buying a minor alcohol, when she has never nor would ever do that. She was beside herself, she is not an angry person, but she was mad. We met at the car and she told me what happened, we went home and her husband called BevMo and spoke to a woman, who was apparently 'nice' and asked for an explanation for the service we received. She said, because I 'touched a bottle', they assumed it was for me, so I needed to show an ID? WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL??! But you know what, If ERIC took the time to explain why- my mom would have honestly been fine. She gets it, its their policy. BUT he didn't. He argued and he accused her. Personally, I think this policy is absolutely crazy and annoying, but whatever. Youre just going to piss a bunch of people off. I dont think she will be going to this store anymore! read more

The cashiers at this Bevmo are assholes. So much so that I go out of my way NOT to shop here. I actually buy alcohol at whole foods now and pay the extra cost not to have to deal with these employees. My boyfriend and I went to Bevmo this last Tuesday because he wanted to get a beer. So I drove him there and went inside with him and when we went to the register to check out, the cashier (Margaret was her name) says, " I need your ID ". So my boyfriend hands her his ID along with his credit card and she repeats the same Thing, " I need to see your ID ". (Keep in mind we are both over 21). We were both confused because he had already handed her his ID. So he says, " it's in your hand?" She looks at us and then looks at me and asks to see MY ID. Again, I was a little confused because I was not the one purchasing the beer. Plus, him and I have been to this Bevmo multiple times and this has never happened to us. so I looked at her and told her that I did not have my ID on me and that it was in my car. And she refused to sell the individual drink to my boyfriend. I then told her that I would just go outside and wait so he could pay and she replies back, " well, you can't do that because I already know you're with him". At this point I was so beyond frustrated and irritated that I finally just went out to my car to grab my ID. So I gave her my ID and she checks mine and then ASKS AGAIN to see my boyfriends. Are you kidding me? She didn't even check his ID The first time he gave it to her! Seriously such an irritating experience!!! Not to mention that all of the employees were just sitting around EASE DROPPING. I can completely respect a company trying to be safe as far as being cautious and making sure they aren't selling to minors, but instead of hassling the customer, maybe consider putting an employee at the entry door to check EVERYONES ID before they even enter!! Argh! I love the selection at Bev-mo but I hate shady marketing. We went here for the 5-cent sale, where we thought we could buy one bottle and get another of equal or lesser value for 5 cents. Not true! After spending quite a while picking out just the perfect selections based on this theory, we took the bottles up the register. Even though it was obvious that we were buying sale items (yes, only certain wines qualify), the cashier didn't even point out our folly. He simply gave us the total - which was full price for the 4 bottles we had chosen. When we asked if they were for sale he said yes, but you have to buy 2 of the *same* bottle. whaaa?!?! So now I've figured it out - it's a ploy to get rid of inventory. Trickery! Never again! read more

This particular BevMo has been one of my favorites for a long while now. Whether I need to get some good/unique wines, or simply need an exotic beer, this is the place to go. The staff here is very friendly and they are more than welcome to help explain what the different wines offer, from their favorites, to the best bang for your buck, to the best way to impress a girl/your in laws/your boss/ or just your snobby "I think I know wine" friends. Beyond their alcohol collection, which is VAST BEYOND BELIEF, here are other reasons why I love BevMo: 1. They have a HUGE SELECTION OF ROOT BEER and other soft drinks. I tend to be drawn towards the different Root Beers; oh the sweet taste of molasses, sarsparilla, and other spices all melded together in a creamy and dreamy taste. 2. They separate the beers by country; being an avid traveller, it's nice to be able to hope from continent to continent looking for your favorite beer from each to help remind you of the good (and bad) decisions you made while abroad. 3. Their buy one wine get another for $0.05 deals that happen about once or twice a year. It's great to double up on a great wine, or to get a nice holiday gift for a friend and yourself at the same time. 4. Simply because they exist. Places like these, yes a chain, offer great and friendly service for those who are new to enjoying R-OH in a way that does not involve body shots, beer bongs, bad decisions, and next day walk of shames. Saddens me to leave anything but 5 stars for any business. Not impressed. Disappointed to know they know about the promotions going on and yet not honor it because I didn't have my flyer and was not able to access my emails at the time. I get it they need a barcode or what not. But I'll tell you.. I have done so much shopping and have forgot several coupons in the car or at home and every place has honored it. Normally we come here to buy all of our alcohal because it was close and they have really good deals such like the 5 cent deal where you buy the next bottle of wine for 5 cent. Plus there beer selections are pretty good too and the 12 pk are reasonable running from $13-18 depending on your choices. There are wine tastering on every saturday afternoon and sometimes they have a lot to drink from so it is always a win win situation. read more

In regards to the reviews about the carding of individuals who are not purchasing alcohol but helping handle the drinks its illegal to sell the items without being both IDS( dont get mad at employees for obeying the law) Bevmo is an OK destination but they do not have the cheapest prices one might suspect since the specialize in just drinks. Stater Brothers in Aliso Viejo always has prices that are $1-$4 cheaper..... that is my only problem with this location read more

Don't bother placing orders on line and pickup, does NOT mean item is in stock, especially the higher end stuff. On line tells you order will be ready in an hour. But when I showed up nothing but confusion and was told inventory does not up date till the morning. Not sure if I believe that part. I was spending almost 300 dollars, they should have at least offered me a 5 dollar coupon for driving there and not having it. Hope they reverse my credit card. Unacceptable customer service! I was looking for a special Hungarian drink which I was to buy for my father's 66th Birthday. When I asked for help, this guy with the bleached blonde hair told me he never heard of it. I suggested to look it up on the computer if the store has it in stock. He unwillingly said: "OK, I can do that if you can spell it"!! So I did, and of course his answer was "no, we don't have it". I went to search for it by myself and found it, only it had a different name. I saw an other product which I know my father also likes, so I decided to buy that one instead. When I got to the register to purchase my other drink, I informed the bleach-blonde guy that I've found the Unicum at the liquor section, only it says Zwack on the bottle. He said: "I know, I googled it". Oh, really???? So then if he knew, why didn't he come after the customer to let her know that they HAVE the drink she was looking for, nor he mentioned it to me at the register when he saw I ended up buying something else!! Gave me the impression he DIDN'T WANT to help and withheld the right information from the customer!!! Very disappointing experience, unprofessional customer service. What is the point of this entire BevMo company? I guess they have a wide variety. I prefer a store like Gelsons, where the beverage manager is like a curator. I do not want to choose from 200 Chardonays. I would rather choose from 10-15 Chardonays of varying tastes and prices. As for price, Chivas Regal scotch and LaCrema Chardonay are both cheaper at Ralphs and Albertsons than they are at Bevmo. The staff here, if you can find them, know nothing. Nada. Zilch. If you want to speak to people that know about beer and wine this is the store to go to. The beer is also rotated and fresher here as opposed to sitting on the shelf past the expiration dates. Ample selection of high quality wine, spirits and beers but......the reason to go there is Geoffrey, a professional 30 year veteran sommelier complete with an authentic British accent.
