Beyond Beauty is located in the back of a poker store. I was ushered into a private room in the back where Katie did my lashes. I was amazed by how quickly, compared to my usual eyelash lady in San Clemente, Katie did the job. Turns out the job was quick because the lashes were clumped together. They also felt like they were poking me when I would blink. I had to go to my usual eyelash lady a week later to have them all carefully removed. My lady was dumbfounded by what a bad job had been done on me. She was more horrified when I told her that Katie advised me NOT to brush my lashes. (Apparently, the first rule of eyelash extensions is cleanliness/maintenance.) I have a credit remaining at Beyond Beauty but won't be returning. I hate writing a bad review for such a nice person, but unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied with my lashes. I had previously gotten lash extensions using Xtreme lashes at Envy Lashes in Studio City with Yen and had a very pleasant experience. The lashes were soft and the perfect length, and the lash technician was very nice (although she tended to use too much glue, which later caught on my eye makeup and clumped). But all-in-all, they were very good lashes, and I received many compliments. My previous extensions were nearing their end and I moved closer to the OC, so I decided to give BBL a try after seeing an awesome yelp deal for 50% off(!) As a previous reviewer had mentioned, if something is too good to be true, it probably is. After reading the many amazing reviews, I went into my appointment expecting some amazing lashes but was sorely disappointed. First off, let me say that Jenny and the front desk guy were very courteous and friendly. My personal experience with Jenny was great~ I booked my appointment online and had no problems (I was actually 30 min late due to traffic, but Jenny was gracious enough to take me anyway!). She first took off my existing lashes (which wasn't completely pain-free because of the extra glue that my previous lash technician put on) and then proceeded to describe my lash options. I opted for the mink lashes for an extra $15 (dirt cheap!) because they were supposed to be softer and more real-looking than the other lashes. But again, if it's too good to be true... When I took a closer look at home though, all my lashes looked very fake and plastic compared to my previous lashes :(. And immediately that very night, 3 lashes fell off from normal blinking (without my real lash glued on), meaning that the lashes weren't glued on very well either. I went to another lash salon in the OC to have them removed because I just wasn't satisfied with the quality, and the lash specialist there told me that the lashes I had on were too heavy for me (which explains why the ends drooped down after only a week) and that mink lashes are very pricey and thought that $15 extra for an entire set was not possible. She was right: a quick google search shows mink lash sets to run anywhere from $250-$1000! Although my experience with Jenny was great, I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the lashes, especially since I really liked my previous lashes and expected just as much. I probably wouldn't stopby here again unless it was an absolute emergency. read more

I've been coming here on and off for over 2 years now. I always get my lashes done before a vacation or trip so I don't have to worry about wearing as much make-up. Always loved my experience here but the location is definitely shady/questionable. The treatment rooms themselves are nice. They recently upgraded to lazy-boy style chairs and I fall asleep every time! And honestly, I feel like for the quality for work, the prices are so good! Tips: if you are looking for more natural looking lashes, I would recommend booking with Katie, she tends to use less glue and she spends her time unclumping your lashes when she's done. She also leaves the fan on for a longer time so the glue can dry completely. - If you want fuller/more dramatic lashes, Julie is your girl. She tends to use little more glue so the base of your lashes look thicker and I've noticed the extensions stay on longer but they do clump more often. I haven't had Jenny so I can't comment on her work. One star off for the location and inconsistent styles between the technicians. Girls are spoiled. They have a tendency to look for better things... when I find a perfect pink lipstick, I use it all up and then onto the search for a more perfect pink. When I find a perfect hairdresser, I look on yelp to try other hairdressers in case they may be better. When it comes to eyelashes, I had gone to 3 different establishments before I stumbled upon BBL. My lashes are wonderful. Julie did my lashes (I only know her name because I heard someone else calling her.. she never introduced herself or asked me for my name). It was really awkward because she only said "hi" to me, and without any other small talk, just went on with my lashes. I thought I had offended her somehow because she was SO silent, but within an hour, my eyelashes were perfect, and I did not have any complaints. However, she just handed me my care kit, and literally just said "bye." Kind of rude... In the end... it really doesn't matter to me whether or not the eyelash technician is "nice" or "friendly" as long as they do a good job for the money I paid. The end result was beautiful. B-curl lashes at 0.20 thickness, 10mm long. I found my perfect combo. At other places, I have tried J-curl (too straight, weighed my short lashes down), C-curl (too curly and dramatic for my eye shape), and 0.25 thickness (way too thick IMO for the average asian thin eyelash). I am 6 weeks out, and I have about half of my lashes still on. That's pretty good! My other friend got a different lash technician (name unknown) with c-curl lashes 0.20 at 10mm, and she looked great! It just shows that whatever curl you use, you have to decide on how it will look with your specific eye shape. read more

The deal is cheap. What's not to love? But like mostly everyone on here I was so ecstatic about the cheap price tag of the new set of lashes I was going to have on that I didn't question I got a deal for $59 on Amazon Local for a full set of lashes + 50% off fills within 45 days. Here are some of the issues I had: Promptness, Customer Service, Location My appointment was at 11am. I arrived at 1034am and sat in my car until 11:12am. The owner of the poker store and three women unlocked the door and walked in. No greetings. Two other customers had been waiting outside with me. You can read the reviews from other yelpers about the sketchy location. That should have been my first indication of the quality of their service. But then again this isn't a spa. It's just eyelash extensions right? I don't know which one is Jenny but one woman started on one of the customers right away. I'm guessing she needed a fill or fix in a hurry. The husband/pokerstore owner is in charge of paperwork and payments and I guess trafficking the customers to sit on the chair while you stare at a supply of poker tables in the storage facility while the three girls work on clients. Katie(?) did my eyelashes. She seemed much younger than the other two. Mid twenties maybe? I didn't question whether or not these people have had any professional training to do this until I was continually stabbed in the lid with what felt like a needle. The eyelashes were hard. And it clearly seemed as though she had trouble with my lashes. The session took 2 hours where I was poked and tense the entire time. One of the other girls walked into the room on several occasions and asked Katie if she needed anything, having conversations over me, asking if she needed fans or batteries. Because the price was such a steal I tried to toughen up and own up to the lashes having saved $100 but when I got home it proved unworthy. My eyes were swollen from the excessive poking. Mind you I was not allergic to the glue. My eyes just simply did not enjoy being stabbed for hours. The eyelashes were harder than the falsies from the drugstore. Plus they were already twisting 5 hours post-application (improper application/technique). My boyfriend asked me if a bee had stung my eyes and if I could remove them before we went to see his family for the holidays. ;( If you value your eyes at all, I recommend going to someone who has been trained to do this. Pay a little more and keep your sanity and not have to worry about whether or not you had put your eyes in jeopardy. I'm glad it worked out for other people but I'll pass. The next day (Thanksgiving Day) I had my eyelashes removed from Joanna at Joanna's House of Beauty in Huntington Beach. She was so great to offer to take my lashes off on Thanksgiving morning. She was so pleasant and greeted me with a smile. We went into her office, she had me lie down on a spa chair. She covered me with a blanket and went to work. I didn't even feel a thing. No pinching, no pulling, I could have drifted off to sleep. That is how eyelash extensions should be. You shouldn't feel a thing before, during, AND after! I don't mind a crappy room in the back of some business, but the service and/or customer service better stand on it's own if there's nothing else to show for a business's professionalism. read more

I've always been self conscious about my eyelashes, it is one of the few things about my physical self that I'm not content with. I'm very bad at applying false lashes but can't live without them. I spend most of my morning trying to apply them and focus on making them even. Impossible! Either one eye would sit higher than the other or they would fall off within a few hours and I would have to reapply them with more glue due to residue. I narrowed my search down to a few places in the Orange County area and found the perfect place for me. After reading the reviews for Beyond Beauty, I knew right away this was it! The "before and after" photos were amazing. I was impressed to see that Miss California and Jenna Jameson had used their service. Not only they were there, they commented that they "Loved Their Lashes". That, along with numerous positive reviews - I was sold! I immediately called them up and scheduled an appointment to come in for my consultation and for a full set of lashes. The day of my appointment, I was greeted at the door by a very nice gentleman that handed me a clip board to read and fill out while waiting for my appointment time. It was very nice of him to offer complimentary drinks and snacks at the waiting area. It was a very long day and all the running around I did, I sure appreciated the amenities. I read the sign up sheet thoroughly and knew exactly what to expect. Katie came and introduced herself then led me to her room. She went over some pictures with me and showed me my options from length to thickness, even curl types. Omg! At that point I was clueless again because there were too many choices to choose from. I told her to make the proper judgment with the facts that I provided for her, telling her it was for my wedding and the look I wanted to achieve. After laying down and leaving it up to her, I felt very at ease knowing that I'm leaving my lashes to the hands of a professional. I pretty much fell asleep while she was applying the lashes because she was very gentle and the procedure was so relaxing. I know I have one of the most complicated lashes to work with. I have half the lashes of the average person and they fall flat and grow all different directions, yet Katie was able to make them full and thick looking with just the right amount of curl. My new lashes are beautiful and I love them! Btw, you should really read over the after care instructions that are provided in your after care kit. It has detailed information on how to care for them properly and to extend the life of your lashes. I followed every instruction word for word and it's been 7 weeks now since my full set of lashes and they still look good. I have to say that I couldn't be any happier with my lashes and this is beyond my expectations. read more

Follow-up Review: Wise Yelpers will ignore that hysterical 1star slam. BBL still rules! I love my mildly flirty lashes and great service I've received, so I've gifted both my daughters with a visit to Beyond Beauty Lashes. Since my initial visit 9 weeks ago, I've been back for 2 refills and for "vacation education" on lash care because I was going to New Zealand where the weather could be rainy, snowing, or on the other side of the island, warm and humid. What should I do in case of "eyelash distress" while away from home? No worries. Jenny gave me easy, detailed instructions on how to care for the lashes and I was able to dry them off (after a huge windy rainstorm) and use the hair dryer and mascara wand to carefully "fix" their wonky appearance. Even if it wasn't perfect, at least I felt confident in knowing how to deal with "water emergencies" and not worrying excessively about losing a few lashes during my visit to the land of Kiwis and Hobbits! First Review: This was my first time trying eyelash extensions and something I'd thought about for years. Finally, I'd seen a friend's new lash job and had coveted her flirty eyes for many months before Yelping. I am very pleased to announce to the women of Yelpdom that Beyond Beauty Lash experts, Julie and Jenny, proved to be worth 6Stars, not just 5! I had seen Julie on Friday, August 3. All went well and she did a speedy and marvelous job making sure that each lash was carefully applied to my own sparse set of natural lashes. On leaving, I was amazed! Not only did I look mildly flirty (hey, I'm a "woman of a certain age" and want my eyes to look beautifully enhanced, not absurd!) but pretty darned natural-ish, too. Knowing that these lashes demand special care (like, NO eye-rubbing and NO water!) made me do a lot of homework before committing to the procedure. I realize that it's my responsibility to maintain my lash investment by following the lash expert's advice and call if there's a problem or question. I followed Julie's "to do" list when I left their office and got clear mascara to apply to the tips, non-oil eye makeup remover, aloe wipes, and thought up the idea of getting swim goggles to cover my eyes when showering. NO water, right? All went well for a few days and then..... Oh-Oh...I noticed and had comments from my daughters that my right eye was looking more "dramatic" because the end lashes were swoopier, more dense, than the left side. Also, my eyelashes on the left side appeared to be less curly and dramatic. Not a lot, but enough that they noticed a bit of droop on my left eye. No worries, right? This was a first time experiment and my own lashes are part of the mink eyelash extension issue, so after 4 days, I calledl and scheduled a consultation and "re-do". Mr. Mike answered the phone and said, "no problem" in his easy-going manner and this time, I got to meet his sweet wife and business partner, Jenny. She's as beautiful as her friend, Julie and highly competent. I explained what I perceived to be the problem and she took time to explain how one set of lashes could appear to be more droopy than the other and asked me what I would like done. Together, we came up with a natural-looking, corrective procedure. So that I could understand what she was talking about, she took photos of with her iPhone and pointed out the sparse areas between my natural lashes and how it was important to apply as few new false eyelashes as possible so that the weight of the mink lash did not weigh down and cause sagging issues to my natural lash. She also told me that the biggest lash killers were eye rubbing (gals have done that right on her table and not been aware of it because it's an unconscious behavior) and water. Along with the downward force of gravity, water will screw up the lashes and cause your own natural lash to twist and curve, causing the extensions to twist and curl funny as well. "Think about how a drop of water on a leaf causes it to droop downward", she said. It's the same with the lashes. So she went on to patiently explain the "do's" and "don'ts" of lash care. Jenny is AMAZING as an eyelash educator and gave me the right information that I did't get the first time and which made a huge difference. Therefore, I award her with 7 Stars for going above and beyond duty! And the charge for 40 minutes of patiently re-working and fixing my errant lashes, plus all those helpful insights? In summary, (and to shed light on some other people's misfortunes) it is ultimately the consumer/customer who must take responsibility for her own set of flirty eyelashes after they're applied. I think this was a great Groupon deal. I've always wanted to try lash extensions and this was a great way to try this service out. Jenny was my lash technician and I absolutely adored her. My poor lashes were non-existent before she put hands on me. So I must say God bless her. She knows her stuff and you don't feel a thing. I think she might be relocating soon so I don't want to become attached but overall I was very completely satisfied. *** This is an amendment to my original post. I did enjoy my lash service but in the weeks following I have experienced an immense amount of pain and discomfort due to the glue getting in my eyes. In the morning I can expect to spend an extra ten minutes flushing the glue residue from my eyes. I noticed that when I awaken my eyes are typically watery in the morning and this cause an onset of solution making its way into my eyes. This place is like a little, hidden treasure. No one would suspect a poker store to have an additional mini eyelash extension salon indoors, but that just makes it better! You can drag your hubby with you to shop around in the poker part of the store while you get your lashes done! I have very thin, frail eyelashes, so I HAD to get them extended. This place was the cheapest I could find for only $45 with a student I.D. card... Yep, you read that right... ONLY $45! What a steal! Perfect for a broke-ass college student! I've never ever had my eyelashes done before - but because I was getting married I was looking for a place to go. I found Beyond Beauty through YELP and loved how (1) there was a DEAL for only $65 and (2) there were great ratings about this place. I took the chance, got the deal and made my appointment. From reading previous reviews, I knew to look for a POKER store, which I did, I walked in and thankfully Jenny was standing there with another customer (so I didn't look like an idiot asking where was the salon in a poker store). She took me in right away, we chatted for a bit on what the process was and what I was getting my lashes done for, the different lengths of lashes and then she got started. She was SOOO sweet, so gentle and made me feel comfortable. It took about an hour and I was done. The 2 days I've been at work since getting them done, people have noticed and RAVED about them. Everyone has said how natural and full they look and how it's a perfect length. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend for people to come here and with a great deal - why not?! I did stray once just to check out another place closer to home but immediately went back. The 35 minute drive is totally worth it. Every time I've gone, I received excellent service. The lashes last a long time and I never stop getting compliments whether they are 1 day old or 6 weeks in. People may feel weary about going here because it's in a Poker Store. My two cents... DO NOT GO HERE! This business is very shady (suspicious). I bought a Groupon and called several times to schedule an appointment. They don't answer their phones and they don't return messages. I drove to their place to schedule an appointment in person. When I got there, the place was closed and it was during business hours. I looked thru the door and the place looked empty - no furniture or anything. The suite next to them had one table with a bunch of papers on it, but they had no business name. So I don't know if they together. I already paid for my Groupon but Groupon was able to refund my money. Any business that doesn't answer phones or return messages obviously do not care about customers. Go someplace else. the girl i had was good her name was Vi.. my lashes been on for almost 3 weeks now and most of them are still on. I expected them to be gone by now because i got them done before i headed for Miami Florida and i would been in the water 24/7. Their a little hard to get used to if this is your first time, but after awhile you'll get used to it and it look super natural. i purchase on groupon for party lashes, but she talk me into buying the celebrity lashes and talk me into getting the mink cause it look more natural. i didn't give them a 5 star because my friend recently got them done somewhere esle and hers look more fuller. Being an Urban Planner, I get a little uneasy when a beauty establishment is located within an industrial area and inside a warehouse-type facility. But, I was pleased with my experience. Since I was serviced inside a private room, it felt like I was at any other salon. My lashes turned out beautiful, and she was great! She gave me instructions on caring for my lashes, discount cards, cleansing wipes, and eyelash brush to take home with me. I purchased the groupon and upgraded to mink lashes once I got there. When you first walk in you're welcomed very quickly and in the waiting area there are lots of delicious snacks. The chair that they apply the lashes in is very comfortable! Trinh was amazing. I love my lashes and look forward to never having to put on mascara ever again! They lasted 4 weeks. I found this place through the Yelp deals. I found it interesting that it was located inside a Poker supply store. As I entered the store, I was kindly greeted by a nice young man that asked me to fill out a check in form. I was a few minutes late but I a Woman by the name of Jenny came out and welcomed me. She took me to a room where she explained the differences between synthetic and mink lashes. The mink lashes felt more natural and costs 15 bucks more. I chose those, why not get the better ones if they are going to be stuck to my eye for 2 months. She also explained the different lengths and widths. She was very honest and gave her opinions and reasoning to why she believes certain styles would be fit for me. It was quiet during most of the appointment but when we did chat, she was a very warm person. At the end result, I was pleasantly satisfied. I love them! I wish my eyelashes were even fuller but I guess my real eyelashes are just too fine and sparse to get the super dramatic look with extensions. I'm glad that I tried Beyond Beauty Lashes before going to my trip to Hawaii. My lashes looked natural and most especially the lashes are so comfortable. It feels like they are your own, they are very light! I waited 3 weeks to make this review, just to make sure that it will really last.. I'm happy to say, it did! After snorkeling, swimming in the beach and pool l and etc! I totally recommend them! I wish I remember the technician's name, she was very nice. Beyond Beauty Lashes has been my first and will be my ONLY eyelash service specialists. It all started with a Groupon deal. I figured, worst case scenario, it would be a one time deal and that would be the end of it. Boy...was I wrong!! I totally LOVED my experience with BBL! In fact, I've been coming back as a regular ever since for my fills. Considering it is such a sensitive area of the face, I'm too afraid to trust anybody else at this point. I will (and have) recommended this place to others. I was blown away at the selection in eyelash length, curvature, thickness and material. Just communicate whether you are going for a natural look or something more dramatic. Whatever look you're going for, they can do it!! They are very thorough at giving you proper instructions on how to care for your lashes afterwards. Psst! Here's a tip: You get a free after care kit if you Check-In with Yelp. What really made me feel confident is that eyelash service is the ONLY thing they do. So it's not one of those salons that try to be a jack-of-all-trades in the beauty business and you're wondering if the technician is really any good at doing eyelashes. This establishment specializes in being perfectionists at eyelash extensions and nothing else! Of course as the religious Yelper that I am, I had to review the previous yelp ratings prior to even coming in for the first time. I saw a lot of comments about the location...that it's inside of a pokerstore. To me, that wasn't important. Walking out with amazing eyelashes is!! I was so impressed at my new look! I even went straight home and stared in the mirror at every detail and I was astonished at what she did. I find myself wearing less eye makeup and getting ready in the morning has gotten much faster. It's like constantly having that bright-eyed look first thing when I wake up! They also have an online appointment system, which I found to be super easy. Personally, I tend to avoid having to talk to people on the phone anyway, so this added feature was totally up my alley. Plus, there's no discrepancy of any he said/she said date and time mix up. This was my first time getting lash extensions and I have to say the overall experience was worth it. I called to book an appointment and the guy who books the appointments is so accommodating. The process itself is totally painless and not too long. I got the whole set done in about an hour and a half. They give you a little after-care kit and it includes instructions on how to take care of your lashes, it's been almost two week and my lashes still look awesome. I highly recommend this place. Their customer service is beyond compare and the lashes look great! Pros: - Love that they send a confirmation text and you can text them about appointments and questions - Nice little space, very comfy (you could fall asleep in those beds) - GREAT customer service - Accepts cash and debit cards Cons: - Might be a bit difficult to find (you can just mapquest it and you'll get there perfectly - googlemap seems to be a little off) read more

I got a groupon for celebrity lashes. i've tried different deals at different places before but I wasn't satisfied, until I came here! The address is misleading, it leads you to a auto repair shop, when Beyond Beauty Lashes is actually in the Garden Grove Business Park, it's a plus that they inform me via text. Also it's a plus that you can make appointment online and they confirm by text messages. My technician's name is Trinh. She did a good job. She gave me mink lashes with both volume and lengths! Also the lashes are going from shorter to longer in the outer corner (if you know what I mean). My lashes are short and straight, as I have typical asian lashes, but she did a good job at glaming them up! I highly recommend this place. They also have a package for 3 mink eyelashes for around $159, which is a good deal for such a good job. Will come back for more. read more

Katie did my lash extension. She was very skilled when applying the extensions. My procedure took about an hour and 20 minutes for a full set. I was very relaxed throughout the process (I actually fell asleep! haha) 2 weeks after my procedure, my lashes still look great!!! I was very skeptical because I had lash extensions done before by a different technician and it fell apart in a week. The lashes I got at BBL are beautiful and light, so light sometimes I forget that I have them on! They look very natural. I will be coming back for my fill. Thanks BBL! read more

I found this place on Groupon. It is close to where I live, the deal was great, so I thought I would give them a shot. 1st impression walking in was okay... The receptionist was friendly and the place looked clean. Not too impressed. Most eyelash places have products that you can buy such as eyelash extensions safe mascara and eyelash extensions safe makeup wipes. This place didn't have anything on display other than a signed photo of some beauty pageant contestant. The lash tech was nice, asked the right questions and did a nice job. Just an FYI, if you're purchasing the Groupon. Don't bother paying the extra$20 to get the 'celebrity lash look'. I was expecting for the look to be a little bit more dramatic than the classic... Yeah, nope. It's a basic classic eyelash extension service. MOST of the lashes fell off in less than a week. I can usually I can go a good three weeks before needing a touch up. But by the second day a good chunk of them had already fallen off. Mostly the ones on my inner eye and outer eye. Also, usually lash places will give you a few eyelash brushes to help maintain your lashes, but they didn't offer me a single thing... Not even to schedule a touch up. They basically said "thank you" and "bye". Not even a "I hope that you liked your experience" or asked if I had any questions. I am guessing it was because I was a Groupon customer? You would think they'd want to impress a first-time client and try to get their continued business. I was hoping this could be my new spot but unfortunately they're not getting my business ever again.. read more

I've been going here consistently for about three years. I've had both Jenny and Katie and they're both great. I discovered this place from a friend and my first time was with a groupon deal. Since then they've upgraded their shop to a new location and even hired more staffing. I love them and their technique. I've been to other lash extension places and it was not the same. I usually do the synthetic mink. I've gotten all my girlfriends and even my sisters to come here because that's how much I like them. I should've written a review sooner. It's better late than never. I have been coming to this place for about 6 months months. I only see Julie because she is beyond amazing when it comes to lash extensions. I get compliments everyday! I even got a friend to give it a try too and she loved Julie's work but that's not a big surprise! I also like that she doesn't chat a lot because I like to stay quiet when getting services done. Why 4 stars? Well the negatives are: sometimes is usually freezing in there, the chairs don't look very clean, you can easily hear people talking at other stations so I just bring earphones and wear sweats and a light jacket. read more

Jenny is wonderful explains everything! She is extremely gentle which I can't say for my last experience with another salon. I have been going to Jenny for the last 3 months and people think they are my natural eyelashes, just extremely longer and fuller. Julie does my lashes. I enjoy going to her she's very sweet and always friendly. I've been other places and nothing compares to her work. I get them done every two weeks. 10/8/15 - I went in for my regular lash fill with Julie(who does a GREAT job) but what I'm most annoyed with is their charging of 9 dollars a customer for those who don't follow their cancellation policy. As a loyal and on time client, I think it's unfair to impose such a fee. And once more you know I'm on time. Why should i be held accountable for someone else's screw ups. If you go online you have to pay that fee up front, otherwise you can't make the appt. I think it should be reanalyzed and taken off of those clients like me who are on time and show up. read more

I've been going to Beyond Beauty Lashes for months now and I can honestly say that I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my extensions done! Jenny is super sweet and so good at what she does. Every visit she makes sure you know what type of look you want and she will answer any questions you have or give you tips of what would look good on you before she starts the procedure. Jenny is highly skilled and I always leave with a beautiful set of lashes and a big grin on my face. :)) Booking an appointment is really easy as well. You can either book through their website or you can text them. They usually respond right away, and they even text or email you with a confirmation of your appointment on the same day.
