I'm not sure why Google Maps initially took me to a location in Fountain Valley when the actual spot is in Huntington Beach, but it was totally worth it once I got there. The place was really nice and very clean, and she took me in right away. The price was amazing--$160 for lash lift, tint, and eyebrows--and she did an incredible job on everything. It took about 90 minutes total, and I really appreciated how she asked whether I wanted a more natural or slightly more exaggerated look. I waited until everything was fully resolved before writing this review because I wanted to be accurate and fair. Based on both the service and how the situation was handled afterward, I'm sharing this as a cautionary tale. I booked here because of the salon's five-star reputation, strong reviews, and the quality of work represented online. I was told around 9 a.m. that Nancy would be doing my 10 a.m. appointment, and didn't think anything of it as I reasonably expected anyone who worked at the salon to deliver work consistent with that reputation. The initial result was immediately unacceptable. My brows looked uneven and the overall shape was not what I expected, and my lashes were visibly uneven, with one eye lifting much less than the other. I pointed out the problems immediately and gave them the opportunity to correct the work. That meant chemically processing my brows and lashes a second time. That is when things became significantly worse. My brows, which I had spent years trying to grow back after over-plucking for the better half of a decade, now looked substantially thinner, sparse, and more uneven. My lashes also appeared noticeably less full while still remaining uneven. After more than three hours at the salon and two corrections, despite the owner offering a third, understandably and logically, I declined. Would you be comfortable allowing the same technician to continue working and more importantly, apply more chemicals to your face? What bothered me almost as much as the result was how my concerns were handled. The owner acknowledged the work was unsatisfactory, yet still pointed to my uneven brows and differences in my natural lashes as justification. Obviously my natural features were not symmetrical. That is exactly why I wanted to go to a professional, to have them improved and made less noticeable, not to leave have them exaggerated, looking noticeably worse and then have the result blamed on what I naturally came in with. On top of that, my eyes were burning, itching, and watering into the next day. I then had to find another professional willing to take on corrective work, and multiple artists declined because my brows and lashes had just been chemically processed twice. The professional who ultimately accepted the appointment documented that I was there for a "redo" and performed the services she determined were needed to make the result look appropriate. That included tinting. The tint was not an unrelated add-on I decided to purchase. After the second treatment, my brows had been left substantially thinner and sparse and my lashes appeared noticeably less full. The corrective professional used tinting as part of the redo to restore definition and visible fullness and make the overall result look balanced again. I did not go elsewhere and add elective services; these were services the corrective professional determined were part of fixing the result she was presented with. The corrective appointment cost $240. Before that appointment, the owner agreed in writing to refund my $55 deposit and reimburse reasonable corrective costs. I specifically clarified the reimbursement terms before proceeding because I did not want a dispute afterward. Despite that, once I submitted the invoice, she disputed part of it, including arguing that the tints were merely "additional" services. After substantial back and forth I told her I would proceed with filing in court if the matter was not resolved. Only then did I receive the full $295. I also asked for the California license information of the technician who performed the work so I could verify that she was licensed, but the salon never provided it. I am not saying she was unlicensed because I have not established that, but I found it concerning that the information was not provided after I specifically requested it. I want to acknowledge that they ultimately paid me in full. But consumers should know what it took to get there. I raised the problems immediately, allowed them to attempt a correction, stopped only after the second chemical treatment made the result significantly worse, sought independent corrective help, obtained the reimbursement agreement in writing before proceeding, and only received full reimbursement after sending a formal demand. I am very happy with the final result from the salon that corrected the work, shout-out to EyLA Newport, but I am still disappointed by the brow hair that was removed and by how much time, discomfort, stress, and additional effort it took simply to get back to a result I felt comfortable with. read more

Horrible Experience -- Chemical Burns from Brow Lamination! Stay Away! I do not recommend Brows and Lashes by Angel. I went in for a brow lamination, and the chemicals she used were far too harsh -- they caused first-degree chemical burns on my eyebrows and surrounding skin. Within hours, I had severe irritation, dryness, and swelling. I ended up having to visit my primary care doctor, who prescribed topical steroid cream and oral steroids to help with the inflammation, itching, and pain. It's been over two weeks since the procedure, and I'm still recovering. When I reached out to Angel about this, she refused to reimburse me for the service or for my medical expenses. I even sent her screenshots of my doctor visit and prescriptions, but she insisted I go to her salon in person with receipts so she could "verify" it -- as if I would ever want to see her again after what she did to my skin. This experience was traumatic and left me embarrassed to even leave the house for over two weeks. Angel also tried to upsell me on additional services and products during my appointment, which now feels extremely unethical given the outcome. Bottom line: Stay far away. She will ruin your skin and take no accountability for it afterward. read more
