I work in the sound/music industry, so I'm especially tuned in to poor sound design, and here, they rely too much on blasting volume. The music competes with the instructor's voice, making it nearly impossible to follow along (I started wearing earplugs after leaving with a pounding headache my first time). On top of that, the vibe can feel shaming. Once, when I didn't fully crank up my resistance, the instructor called out, "Some of you aren't turning it up! I know who you are," and then pointed at me. It was awkward and unnecessary. Basic support is lacking, too. The first two times I came, I asked for help setting up my bike and no one ever came around, I just had to guess. Overall, it's a huge turn-off. I've been to spin studios in Denver and Austin that nailed it - good sound, supportive instructors, and clean gear. Revolve is a thumbs down for me.

It was exactly the right balance. The staff was all so kind and welcoming too, noticably so. I love to book their classes through ClassPass, but no matter where you book through, the classes are affordably priced. Highly reccomend, and hope to see my fellow Yelpers in classes soon! I used to attend barre classes regularly and more than 80% of the class was at THE BARRE (10% warm-up and 10% abs on the floor). The class I attended here was more of 60%. My friends who had attended a few weeks before said the same thing. This was just one class. Maybe there are others classes or even other instructors that are more barre intensive. But my expectation was not met in that regard especially for a specialty class with that namesake. I would go again to try another class. I did fee like I got a good workout and the instruction was fine overall.

All for one reason: the owner. From the owner, you can expect to be belittled if you get injured (very common in Olympic lifting), have any physical insecurities you share used against you, and be ostracized if you need to take a break from CrossFit. It all comes down to the membership dues: any tact will be taken to make sure you keep paying whether you're using the gym or not. With so many boxes to choose from, I would recommend any long term commitments be made somewhere else.
