After a years long hiatus from Chuze, I'm back and I'm in love with this location! Despite how packed the parking lot may seem, there are always enough machines and space to move around. The machines are rarely out of order and the entire facility is so clean. And I'm sorry, but I'm going to gatekeep my favorite class because it's always full already - but the classes offered are great! Overall, I love and recommend Chuze. My only complaints can be found in the women's bathroom. Whoever designed the doors to open into the stalls and be long enough to almost touch the toilet needs to be fired. You literally have to side step the toilet and stand in the corner to open/close the door when in the stall. And while I appreciate warm water for effective handwashing, the water in the sinks is pulled straight from the core of the earth and is always scorching hot. read more

Sadly it was only me today, I love the energy that comes from the group but it was a great workout nonetheless. These workouts are challenging and you can adjust the intensity as needed. I've been coming to this gym for over a year and half and I thought I'd give some good feedback regarding this Chuze on Oracle/Auto Mall (Across from the Tucson Mall). First Impressions: I've been to the Chuze on Grant/Craycroft for most of my membership outside of the past 1.5 years. That being said, this is by far the biggest Chuze in Tucson, that I know of (Feel free to double check this). It's very spacious and open concept, and I don't feel as cramped as other gyms, so I can appreciate that a lot :). Staff: I don't think I've ever had a day that I went here and not been greeted. Super friendly staff and quite honestly that's pretty refreshing. A simple hello and welcome goes a long way :). Thank you! Cleanliness: I have to admit, Chuze (this location) does a fantastic job of keeping things clean and uptight considering how big this gym is. Kudos! Value: They have 4 memberships, so your standard basic, premium, more, and Chuze Max. The caveat is not all Chuze offer the Max version I believe. The only thing I don't like about the plans is that the basic plan has an annual fee for the most basic entry level. Not a fan. Outside of the plan layout, its pretty affordable for anyone that wants to get active as they have a pretty robust offering to its consumers. Recommendations: If you're someone that likes being active or want to start being active, this place has you covered. While their are other offerings like Planet fitness that fight for the same value, Chuze does offer a bit more on the equipment side of things, and the facilities often seem to be a lot more brighter inside as opposed to other gyms. Can't go wrong here. Extra credit: Be aware, like most commercial gyms, this gym can get VERY packed during peak hours, so make sure to visit a time that makes sense as opposed to the weekends, were it can give a false sense of how busy things can be. read more

I love this location. Especially the morning staff and gym goers. The staff remembers my name and make me feel important and I'm sure they do that with others! The staff and the supervisors are nice and make coming to the gym fun! Everyone is friendly. They play good music (sometimes) when I forgot my earbuds. Protein shakes are good. My fave is the moMass one scoop chocolate and one scoop vanilla! It's a must try!! Also I've heard this is the only Chuze in Tucson with a good Sauna and steam room. Great gym experience and amazing staff who welcomes you each time you enter an exit. Equipment is clean and well-maintained. There is plenty of cardio and exercise machines. However, it can definitely get crowded in the evenings or certain times during the weekend. Well worth the prize and monthly fee about $30 a month for the premium membership or can go for less than $20 a month for the basic membership. Includes a sauna, Hydro massage, tanning beds, and swimming pool with the premium membership. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a great gym. read more

Overall this is your standard commercial gym. There's nothing extraordinary about it beyond being a gym, having a sauna and a steam room. At least in my opinion. One of the biggest complaints I have is simply that when my wife and I are able to go to the gym it is always packed. Rarely are we able to go during a "non peak hour" So half of the time we just didn't go. So be forwarned that if you have any kind of a social anxiety this is not your best bet. The thing I'm not happy about, up front it seams like a lot just to start up. We paid about 25 dollars a month for membership plus a 50 dollar annual membership. Why is there an annual membership fee on top of a monthly membership fee. Make your pricing more straight forward and simple. Secondly, the "contract" is so wordy and there's so many different nuances in it. Apparently you have to give "at least a ten day notice" if you're planning on canceling your membership. Secondly it's a 50 dollar fee to cancel a gym membership here and thirdly if you do cancel within 10 days of the bill, you're still going to get billed foe the next month. So if you are someone who's not sure about if you will be living near a Chuze within the next year. Don't get a membership here. So to summarize overall, the gym is well kept. Unfortunately it gets incredibly busy making it very difficult to go and get a workout in. And lastly, wholeheartedly they are just trying to make a profit off you. I know it's basic business 101. But we learned today canceling that we are just dollar signs to them. Not a great way to leave a customer that could potentially come back to chuze in the future. We definitely won't be. read more

I have a Chuze membership through my health insurance, and in general I've had a really positive experience every time I've been there! I'm a triathlete and come here occasionally for cardio. The "Kids' Club" childcare is fantastic. They do temperature checks and hand-washing on the kiddos when you drop them off, and when you check in, they ask where in the gym you'll be and how long you're planning to work out. That way, if something happens, they'll know where to find me. They have a little movie theatre with bean bag chairs and my kid loves to watch cartoons in there! The cardio equipment is in good shape, and I love the "cardio theatre" where they have treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals in a room with a movie screen. Running on the treadmill while I watch "Deep Blue Sea" or "National Treasure?" Heck yes! There are small lockers with built-in combo locks in the front, which are really handy when I just need to lock up my purse but don't want to lug all my stuff into the locker room. The "hydro massage" chairs are magical! You can hang out for 10 minutes while the water jets run up and down your back after a workout and it's amazing. Two very minor complaints knock my rating down to 4 stars: The swimming pool is VERY shallow. The shallow end is barely 2ft deep-- enough that when I'm swimming freestyle, my fingers sometimes brush the bottom of the pool, which is a bit annoying. This location is also INCREDIBLY busy, the place is always packed when I go between 5 - 8pm on weeknights. The parking lot can barely hold all the cars, and I often have to wait for someone to pull out so I can take their spot. It also means I stick to cardio and don't lift or use machines here-- I would need to sit around and wait my turn, and I'd rather not waste my time. Otherwise, a very good environment, staff is friendly and helpful, everything is clean and well-maintained, and well worth the subscription. read more

I've been a member here since 2018 and it has definitely fit my needs for a gym. This place was always very clean but since COVID hit it has been even cleaner. Plus everyone is required to wear a mask and they even do random walk arounds to make sure of that and hourly reminders on the intercom. read more

I began my free seven day trial today which was as easy as downloading the Chuze app and having my photo taken. Alex gave me a tour of all the equipment including four types of elliptical machines, leg machines, arms machines, and machines and several weight lifting full body machines. There is a weight room, a 30 minutes circuit room, and space for stretching and yoga. The spin room doubles as the cinema room with a full wall of movie screen. There is also a room used for a multitude of classes and when classes are out of session the space can be used by individuals for their workouts. The bonus features are the infrared sauna, the hydro massage table, and the tanning. I utilized the sauna and massage today and was very impressed by the quality of both! The lockers are great because you can set your own code at each use. The showers are clean and have changing space with a blow dryer and counter with each stall. I love how slick Chuze has implemented technology into their business. The app allows one to track their workout, set challenges, views the schedule and deals and more! Even using the sauna and massage is easy with a touch screen sign in. The staff is so friendly and down to earth with lost of people ready to help. I had such mixed feelings about Chuze before joining, partially because of its reputation for having a highly specific code of conduct. Chuze markets itself as a "friendly" and kind gym. It's a space where loud displays and the dropping of weights are not allowed. Also, it is treadmill and elliptical central. Lots and lots of machines. Though I am not a beefy bodybuilder with an obnoxious ego, it was a bit of a transition. I am a trained athlete (though I haven't participated in organized sport for years upon years) who is accustomed to running/jogging and doing drills for my workouts. Also, my earlier membership was with a CrossFit gym. I loved it! The grunting. The hooting. The random affirmations of "You go girl!" and "You got this!" to push you along in your workout! All that high energy. *chest heaving heavy breathing* Aaaaaaand you have spotted a CrossFitter. Remember, if they are into CrossFit, they are going to tell you. Anyway... *back to zen* Chuze has finally grown on me. No, I'm never a fan of treadmills, but I appreciate that the gym has free weights and the circuit room. I love the circuit room! It's basically full of muscle isolation machines, balls and mats. Great space if you want to personalize your workout. Classes include Zumba, cycling, yoga, PIYO, P90X, Tone n Sculpt and barre -- which has been my favorite class, but my greatest frustration is that it lacks valuable personalized attention. And there's also the Chuze Cinema at this location. There, you can watch films like Captain America and Harry Potter. The films, located iin a room with bikes and elliptical machines, are on constant rotation. This location also has infrared saunas and these lovely water massage beds that you can check out 10 minutes at a time. If it is not too busy, you can reserve a room over and over. I cannot imagine going more than 20 minutes, but it is great for deep relaxation and is a suitable (sure, not perfect) fill in if you cannot get to a masseuse. If you are intimidated by gyms or frustrated with your current health and wellness, it is a great starter gym and it is accessible when it comes to costs: Memberships begin at $9.99 per month. But one extreme aggravation to note. I have had my membership nearing one year and I just learned that while my membership included two fitness assessments at no cost, that benefit was at some point removed. I must now pay $10 per assessment. A small fee, yes, but it is aggravating to sign up for a membership with an expectation of a benefit only to learn down the line that you won't be able to enjoy it. Shady. So fair warning there. Also, the staff is, the majority of time, attentive, cordial and helpful if you need pointers and tips. read more

Nice gym for being a corporate gym, a lot of machines a lot of space and a lot of cardio equipment. Free weights are minimal but enough to get a good workout. Weights do not go too heavy. 70 pound dumbbells is the heaviest that they have. If you're looking to get some cardio in a class and then a spin class is definitely a place to go. If you want to push metal you might want to go to a more traditional gym. Staff is friendly clients and customers are cordial good place to go and get a work out. read more

SHIT SMEARED EVERYWHERE!!! someone also threw up in the bathroom and it smelled horrendous, lingering into the rest of the gym i had to leave my workout early. not coming back fr. not to mention, when i went to do my 6000 kg squats, i noticed cobwebs the top of the weight rack. crusties on the entire bottom, well formed and lived in cobwebs!! if you like to hang w spiders come on down to chuze! we also do one smoothie per hour if ur hungry dont expect it to be good. i feel sick im going to the hospital...disgusting. read more

Employees are not pleasant to talk to at all. Chuze also scammed me and charged an extra $31 with my annual fee so instead of paying $50 I paid $80+ and the general manager was insinuating that I would get refunded and I have yet to see my money. In spite of the mask theater, we took advantage of the discount rate for the premium membership allowing us all aspects of Chuze. We drive an extra 20 minutes to go, but so far it's been well worth it. For the same price ($30) I was paying at LaFitness, the better half gets to work out with me *unlimited guest pass. All facilities are larger & far nicer than LaFitness & there's no pressure from creeper trainers. The pool is longer, jacuzzi larger, the showers & changing areas make LaFitness look like the slums. There were things about LaFitness I liked, but overall, this is a much nicer gym. Chuze has a vast selection of kettle bells, tires to flip, stretching cage, indoor & outdoor areas, far more machines, free weights, tanning, dry sauna, steam room, hydromassage & classes. The cleanliness & condition of the pool areas etc., always spotless. I'm not using the tanning or Chuze blends juice bar, so I can't give an opinion on those. Hydro only gives 10 minute sessions, *really should be 15, but it's wonderful. You can add more time if no one is waiting.. That al I ne is worth the drive. At the end of a workout I use the pool, spa & hydro, I'm good to go. Hopefully the sauna will be open soon. * March 9th - sauna is open, one person per room. I haven't used any classes yet. When I do, I'll update. Everyone there has always been helpful & friendly. Overall it's been a nice experience, well worth the money & distance traveled. My only negative experiences so far - code didn't work to get into the pool area. Someone had to come let me in to soak. Seems like too much security there. Plus, there was a woman using the spa to do some tacky boob & photo video shoot to sell herself the entire time I was in there. *FYI, I had no idea how filters could turn someone entirely into someone else on film & video. The woman sitting in front of me & the woman I could see in her phone screen were two entirely different people. Buyers & daters beware! I do find their no grunting rule a little odd..but I guess that keeps loud meat heads from thinking their screams don't affect someone else's workout. I just hope they wake up & fight back against wearing useless cloth on our faces, which isn't doing much for working out, mental health or safety. Trademarking their cleaning procedures seemed very odd. Masks aren't helping earthly, physical or mental health. They also don't take cash *safety, but that's nonsense since cash sales aren't a speck on the percentage chart of interactions overall. If those are fixed - 5 stars, all the way. read more

I will have to admit the staff is very courteous and they keep it nice and clean. The equipment is up to date and kept in good repair. There are a few people that set up shop at one machine (meaning they do a lot of sets and sit on the machine so no one can use it in between), but that happens. It is s little clinical, compared to the Y, and there is no pool, no sauna, no steam room, or whirlpool. It's a good deal for the price, I was a member of the Y for 23 years here in Tucson and it got too expensive and parking was ridiculous, so I came here. I've been a member for about 5 months and I am okay with it, not in love with it, but just okay. I think more than anything I just miss my Y friends. In the weeks and days leading up to covid19 explosion I pleaded with this place to step up precautions such as making sanitation wipes available in locker, shower, sauna pool areas. They smiled and said they'd pass it along to the rest of staff of higher ups. I don't know what they did in the final before they had to close because I stopped going. When and if they reopen, I hope they will take the welfare of their patrons and staff more seriously. read more
