Jim took a look at our vehicle himself - he called me and thoroughly explained my issues (some I knew of - some I had suspicions of ) and then gave me options for new or re-manufactured - but still warrantied- parts. Jim then called my husband and explained this all to him as well. I was quite sure I wasn't going to correctly relay all this info to my hubby. Altogether Jim spent over 30 minutes talking with us both - explaining our options and scheduling service. As promised, our vehicle was done on time - he even cut over $150 off our bill - since they completed the work in less time than estimated. Since then we have brought both vehicles to Jim. He and his team have replaced a clutch in one car and installed a blower to our heater in the other. Replacing belts where needed (each car had over 100k miles and needed some TLC) and setting up reminders for items to take care of at our next oil change. We no longer take our vehicles for "Quick-Lube Service". Jim's is the ONLY place we will bring our vehicles. Jim has always been very courteous and polite - and he is a BUSY man, but always takes the time to answer our questions. Their pricing is very fair - it may not always be the cheapest you could find - but the care they take and proficiency in their trade makes it worth every penny.

First, be aware: although this is an automotive business, they also act as a U-Haul rental location from the same address. My issue is specifically with the truck rental service. At the time of rental, I was clearly told that I did NOT need to refill the gas and could just return the truck. I asked multiple times to confirm this, and another person with me (listed driver Muhammet Emin Bilgin) understood the same. Later, I was charged for fuel anyway. I was also advised that returning the truck to the same location would be cheaper than dropping it off in Kent. That turned out to be misleading, since I was charged for both mileage and fuel. I returned the truck within about 5 hours on a Saturday, yet I was charged for an additional day because the business was closed Sunday. That makes no sense and should not be the customer's responsibility. When I tried to resolve the issue, I spoke directly with the owner, which made the situation even more disappointing. Instead of helping, he repeatedly interrupted me, would not let me explain, and accused me of being rude while cutting me off during the call. They may try to separate themselves by saying this is a different business (U-Haul vs. Jim's Automotive), but the service is provided at the same location, by the same people. As a customer, that distinction is meaningless. Overall, I feel misled and overcharged. I strongly recommend that people avoid renting trucks from this location and go through a corporate location instead.

I brought my Mercedes GL450 in for suspension work. They kept my vehicle for more than a week and then charged me $5700 plus. Instead of fixing my car properly, they damaged it. During their work, they broke the coolant radiator and all the related hoses, causing coolant leaks that did not exist before I brought the car in. This damage was clearly the result of their negligence, yet they refused to take responsibility or offer a proper resolution. Charging luxury-car prices while delivering careless, incompetent work is unacceptable. Keeping a customer's car for over a week and returning it in worse condition shows a complete lack of professionalism and skill. I was left with extra repair costs, lost time, and serious frustration--all because this shop failed to do a basic job correctly. If you value your vehicle, especially a Mercedes or any high-end car, stay away from this shop. Paying $5700 plus to have your car damaged is something no customer should ever experience.

I'm guessing the shop was recently sold or they pay people to publish reviews for them, because I had an absolute trainwreck of an experience with this place. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a business. - They do not work with insurance, even if they claim to. - Took five weeks when they quoted me one. - Didn't call me ONCE in five weeks to update me about anything. - Stonewalled the insurance and didn't call them back. My car was vandalized the first week of May when someone drilled a hole into my gas tank, so I called around to five local shops for estimates. Scott Sherman was the cheapest, by about $200. So after I confirmed with Michael that they worked with insurance directly, and specifically State Farm, I arranged for a tow. I gave them the number for the insurance claims department and they quoted me one week to turn the car around. I let them know I needed to have it back before the end of May. I call in after a week and ask if the car is ready. They said they couldn't get ahold of my insurance after trying repeatedly so they'd call again. Naturally, didn't call to let me know. A few days go by and the insurance still hasn't heard from them, so I gave State Farm the shop's number to call directly. My insurance agent tells me that the shop won't call them back and only seems to pick up when they call from a different number. When I called, Michael said "oh you want to talk to the other guy but he's in the bathroom right now." Strange - he seems to have been in the bathroom every time I call. Two more weeks go by, and dozens of calls later, Scott Sherman hasn't even started working on the car nor have they filed any estimates with State Farm. At two points, the claims department called the shop to walk them through the B2B submission process. My agent confirmed that they didn't submit anything, despite telling the claims team they did. It's the end of May and Scott Sherman won't return my calls, work with the insurance, and still hasn't replaced my gas tank. At this stage, I'm worried they don't even have my car, so I stop by after work to ensure my car is really there. I go in to light a fire under them and they tell me their computer hasn't been working but they can get me the quote the insurance has been asking for. Interesting that they knew exactly what I would ask about before I even had the chance. Thankfully, my car is still there, but excuse after excuse and they say the car will be done by end of the week. We're well into June at this point, and I'm starting to look up legal options to prepare myself. My agent calls me and says they can either tow the car to another location (at my expense) or just pay up front and hope that insurance will pay based on the shop's estimate. They finally finished the car the second week in June and the insurance fully reimbursed me, not even three days after getting my car back. I understand being a mechanic near a big city must mean you deal with some difficult people but that's no excuse for the way these guys conducted themselves. Do NOT be tricked by their website, the reviews, or the prices they quote if you're looking to have your car repaired quickly and especially if you're hoping to involve insurance. TERRIBLE.

Never got an apology from Dan (the owner) just that he was mad at his employee who worked on the car. He suggested I come back to his shop (during business hours only of course, which meant I'd have to use more of my personal time off from work) to have him do a "look over" even though I kept explaining driving my car to his shop with lose motor mounts (and who knows what else) was not something I was willing to do. Not only that problem, but Dan overcharged me for parts!!!(Gave some excuses why it costed more, but after calling other shops, the parts ordered should have been cheaper than what I was charged. Too late to get refund since I had already paid for it.) Thankfully, I knew someone else who was a mechanic that lived close enough to me to tighten the motor mounts and ensure nothing else was mistakenly forgotten about. Never heard back from Dan to show any concern on fixing the problem nor any kind of offer for discount on bill since I had to "get the job done" elsewhere. If you want to waste your money, Dan will gladly take it!

Same day service for a wheel hub replacement on the 2 front wheels on my Mazda CX-5! During the…read moresnow storm I slid making a right hand turn and slammed both wheels head on into a curb. I heard a growling sound from my front wheels that increased in volume as I went faster. I did some of my own research and concluded it was most likely the wheel hub bearings that were damaged. I took my car to Eastside Automotive and Tires first, and I told them about the noise, but they wanted to change out my struts and quoted me $2800. They said they didn't test drive it and just put it on the alignment rack and saw the caster was off by a quarter inch. They did not have a print out or photo of the readings btw. I asked how much to just replace the wheel hub bearings and they quoted me around $1600 plus taxes. First off, they did not test drive it and did not even spin the tires to hear which wheel, left or right, was making the growling noise. I did not feel like they were being very honest an charged me $100 for the "diagnostic", which I begrudgingly paid. So I called up Cascade auto and they gave me a rough estimate. I took it to their shop the next morning at 7am. They spun the tires and heard the growling in both front wheels and also confirmed it in a test drive. They were flexible with the labor pricing and were able to complete the job the same day around 2pm. They even had an issue with the parts they received being bad and had to remove and replace them. I have been driving my car for about a week now and have not had any issues with the noise. These guys do quality work for a fair price. They are a pleasure to talk to and extremely friendly. I highly recommend this garage. Total I paid was $1550 (315 for each wheel hub OEM), which sounds like a lot, but was definitely cheaper than doing unnecessary work like replacing struts. Follow up, Cascade Auto did recommend I go to Les Schwab for an alignment as this is not a service they provide. There I found out the caster was fine and just the toe needed to be adjusted. Do not go to Eastside Auto!

They left Redmond a few years ago to Kirkland. Even though they were within walking distance to my house I followed them. In the beginning I would call around for price quotes. I quickly realized they are not only the best in pricing, but do things right the first time, really know cars, and want to be sure their clients are safe and satisfied with their service. Since my dad passed 6 years ago I rely on them even more. Kevin, Chris and Kurt have gone above and beyond for me. Recommend them completely.
