Jim is the noblest of men in a world full Of thieves. His staff needs to deal with his constant need for perfection and his language eccentrics, but it's worth the hysteria to figure out what's wrong with your overpriced piece of crap car. Jim will allow you to draw in the waiting room, if you wear a mask. You might need to call three times, but it's kind of worth it. PS...he doesn't except third party checks or crypto currency, one downside.

Jim is the "last honest mechanic". He does what he says he will & never pads the bill. He has kept my 2000 VW Golf humming along.

One of the few honest mechanics left. Jim is a wise old mechanic who has mastered his craft.

Great depth of knowledge and an amazing level of competence. Jim, the owner doesn't suffer fools and is a solid gold person.

I have old cars (3 each with over 220k miles) that I take care of to avoid new car payments and I spend about $600 - $1600 a year on stuff that goes wrong with them, as will happen with older cars. Bucky's is my first choice. They always get me in real fast and do a great job. The current manager, Fernando is most awesome and I trust him fully! Donavan

They took 5 extra days fixing it and the only thing they fixed was the converter. I paid the guy before I looked at my car and when I saw it and they didn't do all they said he wouldn't give me the extra money I paid back. So in essence they ripped me off for over a thousand dollars. They also went through my car and stole some things out of it. This happened a couple years ago and the review I posted then kept getting taken down. These guys are liars and thieves. If you take your car to them your a fool. This is the worst service I have ever had and I'm 55. I wish I could give them minus 5 stars. I never did get the money back they stole from me. The catalytic converter was 1565 to fix and I paid them 2685.00.

For the vehicle safety inspection, I didn't have to make an appointment.  It was fine to do a walk-in. When I visited Emily's Garage, there was a customer who was pretty upset with the repairs and the cost.  I was able to hear what the customer had to go through but I would not comment on that as I have limited information. From my experience of getting my vehicle inspected, I was very surprised at how quickly they were able to complete the vehicle inspection.  It was done in less than 2 minutes, and I paid over $50 for that service.   For comparison, when I had my vehicle inspected at Les Schwab Tire Centers in Portland, they spent over 20 minutes to thoroughly inspect the vehicle and the cost for the inspection was only $20.   Will I re-visit Emily's Garage for the vehicle inspection?  Probably not but if the state requires me to get the vehicle inspection done, I will probably have no choice as there are not that many shops that offer the ASE-certified inspection.
