I came in for a $55 student service. This should be the first indication that I'm on a student budget and anything totaling over $100 would take me by surprise. I was charged an extra $20 for a trim and $35 for detangling. I appreciate the work they put in and don't mind compensating but I need you all to start warning customers. I too paid over $400 for Mimi to tree braid my hair. When I asked her for the color brown, she stated that was considered highlights and was $25 extra. I was leaving out of town the next day and had no time to get another hairstylist the same day, so I paid up. I began to lose my braids within one week. I had not wet my scalp or even sprayed my hair within the first week. I had many braids around my edges that had slipped one to 2 inches. Others fell out. I had to reinstall them myself. When I contacted her to let her know this, she says that she advertises that you will lose some braids. I have yet to find that in writing anywhere on her page or any of her web links. She also tried to say that my hair was really soft and that's why it would not hold the braid and that I should try to use some hairspray to keep the braid in place. Ridiculous! I also have many braids that have my hair exposed. So, again, she advertises that your hair is not exposed, but braided down to the end. When I text her to advise her of this, she never responded. My braiding hair also began to get extremely tangled and very dry, even though I sprayed it daily, after waiting a week, with water and conditioner, mixed with a little bit of oil. I was careful to only spray the curly hair and not the base of my head. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The other reviews are totally true. I wish I could warn people on Instagram, but the post would just be deleted. I really don't want people to spend money with her. If I pay $400, my braids should last for at least four weeks.

I was totally elated to see the online booking option with detailed service and price list. I loathe going to salons and being totally surprised by the cost at the end of the service. So much so - if I don't know the service costs up front, I won't even go. I was greeted warmly by Jacque and her husband. They were super friendly and inviting. So was Michael! I had a wash, condition and press. The shampoo was pretty good and the conditioner was nice and tingly During the condition Michael placed a hot towel over my head and then a shower cap. I am very used to having a shower cap after a conditioner to let it soak in a little before rinsing, so I had no reason to think this was an additional service to a wash and condition. My hair was styled in soft curls with care and not too many passes of the flat iron. When it was time to pay, I was told that the service would actually be $15 more than what I booked because of the hot towel. I was really thrown off and it immediately ruined the great experience I had until that point. If I had been told up front, or given the opportunity to agree to that, it would be different. However, not mentioning until time to pay feels a bit dishonest because now I am forced to pay no matter what. This is the only reason why I probably won't return because the there is no actual transparency of pricing when booking online. I would recommend the salon for their work cleanliness and free parking but just advise to be super clear on what a customer's cost would be.

Not like some salons where someone washes your hair another person colors your hair ect. she does it all herself which I love. She's alway very punctual with her scheduling. All areas of the salon are clean (bathroom, workstations & back room). I'm a natural hair person, when I first came to her 9 years ago, I use to her process my hair and she was like "why are u doing that? STOP" I listened and to this day I love my naturally curly hair. Her hair skills... Awsome ! I've had everything from a simple wash & sets to color, keratin & sew-ins. She's so detailed with her sew-ins they last for months! I also let her do my daughter hair from time to time. It's very long and hard for me to do sometimes. Over the years Tseday has done 3 keratin treatments on my daughter hair to help with the thickness & frizz. This has made it's so much easier to manage. It's one thing to do hair but another to give good advice in managing the health of your hair and scalp. She will guide you to the right products and natural remedies found in your house to make sure your hair health is long lasting beyond the few days after QT from a hair stylist. It's a full-service salon in regards to hair. I believe Tseday does it all, but it's always best to call her because she takes clients by APPOINTMENT. However, her specialties I can swear by are styling, hair cut, color (wait for the compliments to start raining), keratin treatment, relaxer, protein and conditioning treatments. Disclaimer - I no longer relax my hair. It is thanks to Tseday and her support during the transition. Whether you rock natural or chemically treated hair, from wash to set the diligence, she puts into the care of your hair will have you book your next appointement immediately. The prices she charges are very reasonable. One important advice especially for a first-timer, when you book your appointment ask her how long it will take and if you need to factor in extra time for consulting.
