First time I visited this place. It was OMG moment. There are lots of Asian bakery in OC and I love them all. This place is one of my favorite one because store is clean, organized, friendly cashier, great taste and most of all the best prices! (Oh, I bought 5 and they gave me 6th FREE. ) If you love Asian bread, you must try this place once!!

For your next last minute birthday cake, get one here. BF is a vibe. Located inside 99 Ranch on the left when you enter, this hidden gem has a lot of pastries similar to what you find with 85C, including 8-9 inch cakes that are pretty good. So I knew they do a good job with cakes because I had cakes from here awhile back, before everything became modernized in 99 Ranch and it was great. Nowadays, it's just as good as I remember it. So I ordered a full taro cake, made early in the morning and out on display in full form to just purchase and take home, and later at my party it was a huge hit. It was sweet but not overwhelmingly so as with most Asian pastries, the bread was moist and fresh, and the layers had a good mix of bread on the top and bottom layer, while the rich taro layer lies in the middle. Price-wise, I thought it was really good. $22 for a high quality cake that was universally popular at the party is very good. Service was very good here, something that is also great here. They package your cake in a beautiful box, and offer free candles, forks, and plates for your party. Definitely a highlight that would make your day better.

The taro cake was decorated beautifully. The price was decent at $24.99 for an 8 inch cake. My family enjoyed the taro filling and the fact that the cake wasn't overly sweet. The taro was not very smooth, but the flavor was good. The buttercream was a bit too overwhelmingly oily for my mom and I. But overall, the cake was good quality, tasted good, and the price was reasonable.

The bakery shop is located inside the 99 ranch grocery store, and right in the front corner next to the cashiers, plenty choices of bakery and limited kinds of cakes, certain items are on sale daily.

Yelp 2015 Challenge #18 What? Bread Farm 2 stars? Yes :/ I came here expecting that the Bread Farm here would be similar to the one I had tried at the 168 Market in Rowland Heights. Wrong. Located in the 99 Ranch Market on Culver Drive in Irvine, Bread Farm is in the corner of the market and supplies the 99 Ranch Market bread :P. They have the usual pan de leche, the cupcake. They had the green onion bread (which they just brought out) and I thought it was hot (since it had come out). As soon as I made my purchase... cold. Nope. And I was like what? O_O BUT THEY JUST BROUGHT IT OUT. Wow. Just wow. Their prices are the same as the other Bread Farm ($1.25 or $1.79 or $2.25+) and the selection is varied. But the way this Bread Farm looks doesn't look as aesthetically pleasing as the other one I went to. Service is also nonexistent (I went around the shelf with the bread 2-3 times and no acknowledgement). I only got it when I was purchasing. They have the mexican blueberry for $1.25 but it tastes a little bit more goopier. Their bread outside was cute and tasteful. But also cold D: Yep. They had bread and I thought some of them would be warm and just out but no :/ I would rather go to the JJ bakery around the corner. Way better.

The 99 Ranch weekly flyers advertise baked goods noting that they aren't available at the Irvine Culver store. It is true that there isn't a 99 Ranch bakery at this store, but there is a bakery located in the store, BF Bakery & Cafe. It is located on the left side of the small food court area at the front of the store. The baked good selection at BF is somewhat similar to 85C as the offerings are Taiwanese rather than Cantonese. The prices are pretty competitive. I saw many pastries priced either as $1.25 or $1.79. They have a BOGO promotion on a few of their buns. On my visit here, there were 4 items to choose from. My parents who frequent this bakery often told me that the BOGO selection changes. So don't expect the same things to be BOGO every time you go. I tried a few of their buns while visiting Irvine last week. I really like their custard bun as the bread's softness holds up well after a day or two. I would also recommend the coconut bun as it also is delicious. The ones here are shaped differently than the ones at Cantonese bakeries. I can also vouch for their sandwich bread as it is the soft variety that you find at Japanese bakeries called shokupan. Though I would avoid the green onion bun that they have here as the taste was not to my liking. If you are shopping at the Irvine Culver 99 Ranch, BF is worth checking out for their baked goods. Their prices are cheap compared to 85C and they have BOGO specials, so it is worth giving them a try for those reasons to see if you can find a new favorite pastry here.

Beautiful taro cake but it was ok

tons of favor and cake to choose from. I like the bakery they have, bread is good but cake is ok. I ordered Taro cake from here. they have real taro in the cake which is great but it frozen. I try to cut it during our friend birthday and so was so hard i can even cut it with regular knife. favor was ok. I would come back for bread though it was good

Fruity macaroon cake for mi madre, $25.00

This bakery inside the 99 Ranch Super Market is a "hidden" gem! I used to go to the surrounding bakeries in the plaza for cakes but I no longer ventured outside after I discovered it. They have a variety of baked goods, from croissants to log cakes to fruity birthday cakes! I've bought some pre-made birthday cakes here and I have never been disappointed. They are moist and fresh, not too sweet (which is something I prefer). The prices for the cakes are decent. The one I bought today is a circular 8 inch "macaroon fruity cake" at $25.00. Besides the birthday cakes, I also have had their mini "yellow" cheese cakes and I love them! They are fluffy and again not too sweet. Now let's talk about customer service. Linda was the baker who helped me today. Her friendly and helpful nature put me at ease! She helped me pick out a cake for my mom and offered to write "happy birthday" on a separate white chocolate sign for me to place it on the cake. She also asked if I needed paper plates. You hardly get this kind of good customer service, even more so at an Asian business. Anyway, thanks Linda. My mom loves her cake and that makes me happy.

Bread Farm replaced the Desir Bakery that typically accompanies 99 Ranch chains. It is a Taiwanese-operated bakery that carries traditional Taiwanese bread, Euro-inspired pastries, and Chinese-style cakes. Their head chef is Haruka Lin, a talented baker who trained in Taiwan. The story behind Bread Farm's formation is summarized on a placard against the wall. The pastries at Bread Farm are "contemporary", along the lines of 85 Degree's, but Bread Farm offers its own creative variations. For example, I spotted a "green onion pork sung muffin" and "chocolate flower bread". Prices are competitive to local bakeries like JJ and 85 Degree, with pastries in the $1.25 to $2.50 range and most for $1.59. Hours: Monday to Saturday: 7am to 8pm Sunday: 9am to 8pm

The emoji breads tempted us with their cuteness, but we were very curious about the Oyaki Mentai Caviar's combination of spicy cod roe and mochi. To be safe, we also got the Mentai Salt & Butter Roll. While we liked the Roll and its crunchy outside/soft inside, we actually loved the Oyaki. The mochi isn't sweet at all, just nicely chewy. Plus, whereas the Roll only had a little bit of spicy cod roe inside, the Oyaki was packed! I say this a lot, but truly, everything looked good. I hope to come back and try their Paninis and Danishes. If they're anything like the Oyaki, they'll be distinct, delicious, and downright delightful.

Only recently was I able to visit and try their croffles and other sweets. Did NOT know that this was inside the H Mart food court in Diamond Jamboree. Parking is horrendous and the driving there is horrendous as well. Probably the easiest and least horrifying option just to automatically default to is to just park in the overflow lot right next to the plaza. There's no indicator for the parking garage so on a particularly busy day, you can head all the way to the top, find nothing and navigate through the hell crowds trying to leave. Ambiance is a very casual, counter order business in the food court. There's seating there, but we ate really close by. Definitely something you have to eat immediately or the texture will not be optimal or it might get soggy. We got the tiramisu croffle and they toasted it and put it together for us there. The lady working there packed it up nicely in a to go box and we got some cookies (regular ones and almond crisp ones). It's a bit sweet, but they're dessert pastries so that makes sense. Goes great with a brewed cup of tea. Croffle had a nice semi-chewy texture and the tiramisu flavor added a bit of a coffee taste to it. Good balance of the cream and croffle. The cookie wasn't too bad either. Overall not a bad to go dessert spot.

I like getting the plain vanilla one, and it also comes with a little cereal at the bottom that gives it a good crunch. The coffee jelly milk is also great, it feels similar to a boba drink but it's a lot cheaper. Whenever I come here it's always the same lady who I'm sure is tired of seeing me lol, but she is so sweet and kind and patient when I have trouble deciding what to pick here! As for the pastries/desserts, the custard pudding cup deserves more love! I'm not sure if it's housemade here, but if you've ever been to Japan, it tastes exactly like the ones you buy from the konbini! I remember I would buy one almost every day of my trip, so I've grown cravings for it that Hamadaya satisfies in OC. The bavarian chocolate cream is a fun decadent pastry if you're into chocolate- comes with so many chocolate chips. The cheese bread is also a go-to for me if I'm in a savory mood- it's exactly what it sounds like, cheese and bread but who doesn't love those two things? Egg katsu sandwich is good if you're looking for something more substantial. The strawberry shortcake I've tried here was also good, but I did pick it up near their closing so it felt a little dried out. Definitely would recommend coming here earlier in the day for fresher and better selection of pastries!
