The strawberries croissant are amazing. I bought a 6 pack which is perfect size to share with the family. They also great item to bring to a potluck if you don't have any idea to bring. They are always a hit with everyone. They also have other pastries, sandwiches, and coffee. But most people come for the strawberry croissant! Parking is easy and shared among other businesses in the area.
I have to go back to cream pan whenever I'm in socal. Everything still tastes great and they still have all the pastries I enjoy. During my recent trip here, I got cream Puffs (my favorite) and the strawberry croissant. There was a short line but it moved quickly. Customer service was average, and they keep the line moving. I would've ordered more, but was flying back to sac in a few hours so had to limit what I ordered to bring back. This location is the original and it is crowded inside since they sell goods also. I believe they have a few tables for dining in outside, bit I've never dined in so cannot speak to that. I'll continue to go here, or one of their other locations when I'm in So-Cal.

We have made pit stops at this OG branch of Cream Pan in Tustin over the years. The location of this well-known Japanese/French bakery was unusual in that it's isolated in a corner of the El Camino Plaza. I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.

Influenced by French and Japanese-style baking, they specialize on cream pans--hence the name. Cream pans are sweet buns filled with a light, silky custard. Whenever I come here, there's always a long line but it's so worth it. I get their famous strawberry croissant, which is filled with a perfectly balanced cream custard that's just the right amount of sweetness for my liking. They have a wide range of options--from sandwiches and rice dishes to donuts, cakes, and even sushi. They also offer catering, including strawberry croissants, sandwich trays, whole cakes (6- or 9-inch), roll cakes, and sushi trays. Catering is available at all three locations: Tustin, Fountain Valley, and Lomita.

But, I've noticed over the years, especially recently, the prices have gone much higher and the product seems much smaller. I would love getting their variety pack of sandwiches, but again, the prices kept rising, so I hardly get them anymore. They hardly fill you up, anyway, because they're so tiny. The Spam and egg musubis are tasty. The scones are fluffy and not hard and dry like at most other bakeries. Their carrot juice is nice. If anything, I'll go in and get their white sandwich bread, brioche buns, and butter rolls. They have curry dishes, California rolls, spicy tuna rolls, and many other items. It's a small shop, and items usually sell out way before closing time. Service is meh, definitely went downhill over the years as well, unfortunately. Regardless, it's quaint and unassuming. There's seating outside on the patio. There used to be inside seating before COVID, and they just use that area for storage, now. It doesn't look great. But, there are plenty of other restaurants, shops, coffee shops, etc., so you can walk around the whole block.
Friends brought bakery from here and it was sooooo good. The strawberry croissant was flaky and crispy just the way I like it. I just wish there were more strawberries only because I love strawberries. Almond croissant was good but I like Bouchon bakery (Yountville, CA) almond croissant better. Coffee rolls were very good. Soft sponge with enough coffee flavor.
Hey Beautiful People! So you know how no 2 shops are alike, even if they are owned by the same person? Well, I learned my lesson! This Cream Pan is nothing like their FV location, which is sad because Tustin is actually the original. Inside is dingy and messy, which should have been a sign for me to walk out, but I really wanted a strawberry croissant. Big mistake! It was soggy--as if it was made yesterday. The strawberry was already going bad. Will never set foot in this location ever again and learned my lesson to stick to the Fountain Valley one. Thanks for reading!
A very popular bakery known for their strawberry croissants. The pastries are good, but I actually come here more for their sandwiches. I like the variety and the portion size, perfect for grabbing something quick to go for events. That said, if you're looking for a cute bakery to sit and enjoy your pastries, this isn't the spot. The space is small and cramped with a narrow cafeteria-style line where you order (but barely can see their faces as the bakery cases are too high), pay, and head out. There are boxes and supplies stacked around the store, so the ambiance isn't the highlight. Despite the setup, they're always busy because the pastries and other food items are good.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get my lips on it for a few days but got man, oh damn, it was still pretty taste and can just imagine if I took a bite of them the day of. I opted for the 14 at $32. Great for sharing. 2. The Cream Puff use the same custard in the filling They do run out of their bread toward the end of the day.
Came and got the azuki cream pan and iconic strawberry croissant. We easily found parking out front. There was a short line out the door but it moved quickly, just make sure you don't leave the door open. If the line inside is full keep the door closed till it gets shorter then go inside. The have both sweet and savory pastries. The sweet ones are out front as you pass the case facing the door. The savory selections are featured after you turn the corner of the counter. They also have sandwiches as well as a Karaage and musubi combo which I want to try. I got the iconic strawberry croissant which was flakey and had a bit of custard and a few slices of strawberry inside. It's 2 maybe 3 bites. It was delicious but I think I prefer the azuki cream pan. The azuki cream pan was filled with azuki bean and had a light sweet cream filling too. The combination of the 2 made for a delightful taste and texture. The process is easy, stand in line, order the items as you see them. So sweet items first then savory. If you want a bunch of sandwiches or musubi then grab a tray. They also have freshly baked bread before your reach the register. You can't go wrong with the strawberry croissant but I suggest you try one of their other products too.

My first time stepping into this store, after hearing of its legendary status and having eaten one of their best-selling strawberry croissants a time or 2 months ago. Good thing I got here before 11am on my way to church; I read a review here that the lines go out the door after 11am. Whew. On this inaugural visit, I got thei namesake cream pan. Ate it with great joy & delight. So delicious, so delectable. One thing I don't get is how there's over 8k photos here when the sign clearly says no photography and no video, but lots of people still love to take photos. My best guess is the store owners don't want people slowing down the line & keep everyone moving along. There are signs for that too, to move it along. read more

We stopped by for breakfast and had a nice experience overall. My favorite was definitely the pork bun--the bun was soft and fluffy with just a hint of sweetness, and the pork filling was flavorful. I'd happily come back just for that. The sandwich and strawberry croissant were both good, and the fresh carrot juice was excellent--very fresh, naturally sweet, and refreshing. Overall, everything was enjoyable, That said, the pork bun is definitely worth trying, and I'd come back for it. read more
BEST BAKERY IN OC Their strawberry croissants are must try, flaky and buttery croissant with not too sweet custard is the perfect snack for an afternoon treat Varieties of different small bites from sweet to savory like katsu sandwich and sushi. Their pork buns are amazingly soft and pillowy as well. Pastry shelf has various bread but my favorite has to be the blueberry scone! The interior is cozy and easy to navigate. I love bakeries, but I really love Japanese bakeries. Cream Pan has been popular for their strawberry croissants for over 2 decades now. And this pastry has maintained its perfected custard filling ever since. They have transformed a humble croissant into a super kawaii dessert with this light custard and sliced strawberries. They have ready-packed boxes of 6 croissants each. A perfect dessert to take home or gift your favorite person. This bakery also has many favorites like curry pan - on this day they had baked chicken curry pan and regular fried beef curry pan. Both are delicious. Sliced sesame bread is one of my favorites. I love making my own egg salad sandwich using this bread - lightly toasted. As good as those fluffy egg sandwiches you can get in a Japan konbini! Love the ready-made sando loaded with cucumber, lettuce, cabbage, or tomato . Chicken katsu sando, croquette sando, and the egg salad sando, all hit the spot. Best sandwiches ever! There are many pastries, breads, sandwiches, rice dishes and other sweets to try. You will need to pace yourself. Come back and savor all of these. So the next time you feel the need to take a trip to Japan, visit Cream Pan! It's the next best choice! read more

When we moved to Old Town a few years ago, I was happy because we were so close to Cream Pan. On our weekend walks, we always pass by Cream Pan. It always smells amazing because they make everything fresh. Whenever we celebrate a birthday (which is often because we have three kids), we always order a Strawberry Shortcake a couple of days beforehand and pick it up the morning we need it. It saves time and we don't need to stand in line. I tried their Chocolate Cake and I wasn't a fan of it. I thought it was chocolate cake, but they had bananas in it. And some of their pastries are a hit or miss, but their strawberry croissant and cream puff never fail in presentation nor taste. Their breads, katsu curry, and sandwiches are also really good. Come early because they sell out quickly. read more

A must visit for us on the way to Riverside. We arrived around 11am on a Sunday morning. There is a small line but moved fast. Friendly and fast services. We sat outside to enjoy some pastries and got some to go. Our favorites: strawberry croissant and tiger cheese! read more
I came back to Cream Pan today for breakfast and lunch to go items. The ham and cheese croissant was excellent and the pan au raisin is savory and not too sweet. I also picked the katsu sando for lunch. Staff were friendly and welcoming as always. The ambiance is casual and typical of a bakery. I have included pictures of the inside of what Cream Pan offers. I love Cream Pan. Whenever I'm in the OC area, I always make a stop here. They're most famous for their strawberry croissants, and for good reason - I love them so much. The pastry is incredibly airy and light, and the filling isn't overly sweet, making it absolutely perfect. It is also super reasonablly priced $2.40 and cheaper if you buy more. I also tried their azuki cream, which has a red bean filling topped with fresh whipped cream, and I really enjoyed it. I usually pick up their custard pudding as well, and it never disappoints. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their baked goods. The service is quick and efficient, and there are a few outdoor tables where you can sit and enjoy your treats. Parking is easy since it's located in a plaza. I would definitely recommend this bakery! read more
First time at a cream pan. There was a line when we arrived but it moved very quickly. Service inside was good, the ladies inside were fairly friendly. There is a patio out back if you want to eat there. I ordered their famous strawberry croissant which was delicious. But I am very biased towards croissants because they're my absolute favorite pastry. I'd come back here again but I find other similar bakeries like Paris baguette or tous Les jours a little more convenient and less crowded. read more
There is a lot to choose from as you enter the bakery. It's perfect to come by and grab things for a picnic! I got a chocolate horn, strawberry croissant, and other things I've yet to try. I'll admit that the strawberry croissant was way more sweet than I expected for an Asian bakery, I feel it is definitely catering to a more American palate. I got an ume onigiri and my daughter kept taking bites between her Choco horn, that's a good sign. Service does try to get you through quickly, I appreciate that. Could the decor be a little cuter, especially for a bakery? Heck yes, but this location seems like a place to grab and go. Someone literally came in for a hot green tea, which surprised me but whatever floats your boat. It's a bit out of the way for me, if I'm ever in the area though, Ill pop on back. read more

Saw this bakery on an article about places to try along the 5. I was expecting just a bakery but this place had sandwiches and sushi too! What?! That's amazing! All my favs in one place. Came here to grab a quick brunch and was happy they are a true cafe that offers a place to sit! The inside and outside makes you think the bakery might be kind of a hole in the way but the seating along the outside gives it a cafe feel. When you walk in, all you see is bakery and food that I was skeptical of finding a spot to sit down. The servers were efficient and still friendlt. I had some questions and she didn't look annoyed even tho there were people behind me. We ordered: Turkey/avocado sandwich 3/5: Yes, the bread is yummy (I'm not a fan of grains in my bread but didn't notice these black things) but the bread is soft! Yum. Plenty of turkey and a good balance of avocado and tomatoe and cheese. I just wish it was real oven roasted turkey but hey, I'm spoiled that way! Ca/spicy tuna rolls 5/5: For the price and quality you can't beat it! Way better than the Safeway $5 Friday deal! Avocado was fresh and the crab mayo combo was just a tad sweet to give it a little extra yum. Strawberry custard croissant 4/5: Why not 5/5? Cuz it cost $2.40 and it was so tiny! But it was so good! Loved the crispiness of the croissant with the sweetness of the custard and strawberry. Just the right size so you won't feel like a pig eating one but quite honestly I wanted to eat another one! Would loved to have bought some of the soft bread to bring home and make sandos but since they don't use preservatives it wouldn't have made the drive home. We definitely be stopping by the bakery when I'm in the area! read more
A cute little shop in Tustin, stopped by for post lunch coffee and snack and left very happy. The staff here are so welcoming and friendly. The pastries were a pleasant surprise. I got a sugar donut and coffee and was very happy. donut was soft and fluffy and not to grainy with the sugar coating which was good. the coffee was fresh and not bitter. The had a nice small seating area to enjoy my food and the parking was reasonable. overall i liked this spot for a quick stop for treats. read more

Cream Pan's strawberry croissant is the OG dessert! It's always a crowd favorite whenever we bring these to parties. I love how the croissant is crunchy and flaky while the custard is not overly sweet and the strawberries are always fresh. On the weekends you have to come early or else it will sell out fast. read more

If you're not coming to Cream Pan and getting the Strawberry Croissants, you're doing it wrong! Parking here is simple with a lot right next to the store front. When you enter, it looks like a normal bakery, no frills, but the pastries really do speak for themselves. Lines can get long due to their popularity, but the workers do a good job moving the line through. Strawberry Croissants 10/10 - this is absolutely the most popular item they have here and rightfully so. It is a perfect balance of buttery and flakiness from the croissant, to the subtle sweetness of the cream, to the tartness of the strawberry. I thoroughly enjoy that the croissant is not overpowering sweet. You can consume a few and not feel weighed down. They sell the croissants in trays as well, making them a great dessert to bring to a party, potluck, gathering, or more! Would highly recommend coming here for the strawberry croissants. read more

Came here because of the great reviews, but the experience felt underwhelming. Maybe it was because we came in the afternoon and the desserts weren't as fresh? Not sure, but I can only talk about what they had when I came. Strawberry Croissant - I don't know if I could have distinguished this croissant from any other croissant. This was the item that reviews said to get, but it was really just okay. For the hype, I expected it to be amazing, but it just wasn't special. The cream was great, not too sweet, but I wished that it had more strawberries and that the bun was crispy. Overall, I don't know if I would come here again. If I were, I would come when it opens since the pastries would probably be a lot more fresh. read more

I don't think so because I asked them for dairy free items. They only had sourdough and another form of rustic bread. They also will say there is the chance for cross contamination. Hope this helps!

How are the strawberry croissants after being a day old?
They are pretty good. Just make sure to refrigerate them.

They have fresh cream and strawberries so I don't think they'd freeze well. Eating them fresh is best or at least in a day or 2👍🏼
