I wasn't in the mood for coffee or a drink, but decided to check out the sweet treats. I was so excited they had Portuguese egg tarts. I am very familiar with the Asian egg tarts, but I haven't had the Portuguese kind. I was eyeing up the banana pudding, but I decided to not get it. Prices seemed a bit high so we just went for 4 egg tarts. We relaxed a bit while our order was ready. They warmed them up, I decided to try one since I am not from this area. MY, oh MY, oh my!!!!!!!!?!!!!!?!!?!!! They were so good, the outside was super flakey, not greasy. The egg center was warm, not too 'eggy' and the sweetness level was just perfect. They were honestly to die for. I contemplated for a few minutes to BUY MORE even though I had only eaten one. I thought, I'm not from this area, so I might as well get more! I ended up getting 5 more, each tart leans on the expensive side for how small they are, but they are mighty delicious!!! I also decided to try the sea salt chocolate chip cookie: Classic Cookie. One con: I hate the small boxes the pastries come in. Also tried a unique drink I saw on the menu - Blueberry Yuzu Double Matcha. The idea is there, but the combination of yuzu with the blueberry was too unique for my personal liking. Paderia totally lives up to all of it's hype!!! It's located in The Square busy shopping plaza ~ between Main St. & MacArthur Blvd..next to Pasta Viva & nearby Nektar & Starbucks. Parking is plentiful, however, the plaza can get busy during working/business hours due to the surrounding corporations..so heads up! The staff is super welcoming & friendly. They are efficient & the lines move quickly. The decor is uber modern and ambience is nice & chill. They are known for their quality baked goods. I especially love their cookies & Portuguese egg tarts. The creamy custard center and crispy flakey pastry & carmelized top is absolutely PERFECTION! My fav/go-to cookie is the chocolate walnut. RxFoodie tip! Ask for it warmed up ~ it's yummy, crispy on the outside & perfectly gooey inside. It's baked w/ imported Belgian chocolate, which makes it so decadent and paired perfectly w/ the pecans & walnut bits. It's heavenly. Hell yeah, I just had a blast the night before and was super hungover.. I stopped by here around 3PM on a Sunday and was still completely out of it recovering.. I was greeted by a nice barista and asked what's popular as I'm dying and trying to be coherent. She told me it was between the horchata or ube and I decided to go with the ube. The lighting and design of this place is very modern and aesthetic. There's many mirrors to take pictures and take selfies with your coffee but I chose the lather and decided not to do that . Located in a plaza just a block from the 405 and John Wayne Airport, I made a special trip to this place after a friend treated me to some cookies she got at their Santa Monica location. This location is much closer to home, so I visited one afternoon when craving their cookies. The interior is modern, classy-bougie, with 4 tables and a large cushy chair. I ordered two cookies, the chocolate chip walnut and peanut butter chocolate, along with an iced horchata latte. I sat at one of the tables, opened the box my cookies were presented in, and found myself in cookie ecstasy. The cookies are fat mountains of deliciousness. Slightly crisp outside and soft inside (note: even softer if taken home and warmed up). The chocolate chip was crammed full of chips and the walnuts were in tiny bits to keep the cookie's texture soft. The chocolate cookie was also enormous and had an abundance of peanut butter chips. Both were superb. The horchata latte had just enough ice to keep it cold. It had a bold flavor of cinnamon which I loved. Staff here were friendly, efficient, and speedy. First the service. 5* - The one customer in front of me was being indecisive and took way too long, but this is not the faultof the restaurant. What I loved is that the person behind the counter was super genuine and nice. She saw I was waiting patiently for the customer and went above and beyond to help me bypass the wait. I chose to be patient as I wasn't in a rush. Thank you though! The Latte 5* - Sea Salt Caramel Latte. I picked something I've had many times before and mostly just wanted the caffeine. Absolutely wonderful latte. The foam, the caramel, the coffee. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. The Cookies - Cookies-n-cream 5*. This blew me away. Its their most popular item. There were samples and before I could stop myself, I had 3 samples. Lol so gooood! Warmed my cookie up when I got home and it got even better than 5*. - Pistachio Cookie 5* This was so good. If it had a chocolate shell on the outside it would've been a Dubai Chocolate Cookie and sold for 3x the price. My drink was made correctly but in the wrong size (too small) and once I mentioned it to them upon pickup, they completely remade it and gave me the smaller one also since they'd just be throwing it away, so that was a nice surprise! The customer service was great and there were lots of people casually hanging out or on laptops. I ended up getting the coconut matcha a couple days in a row. I liked how lite it was, and it was good but felt like something was missing... couldn't put my finger on it - not sure if it was the type of coconut water being used or that it wasn't sweetened with anything (it seemed) which is all to preference. I've also tried their ensaymada! As a Filipino, I enjoyed their take on a more upscale ensaymada. I did wish the bread was a little more pillowy and fluffy. I've also had a few of their coffees which are all also great. I had their seasonal dubai chocolate inspired latte which was called the Dark Chocolate Pistachio Latte. Oh my God, the Matcha berry cookies are the most delicious cookies I've ever had in my life unfortunately they're only available this August. I really hope that they keep it all year around because it is genuinely the best cookie I've ever had in my life. The cookie is perfectly moist on the inside while having like a nice crust on the outside. It has a perfect level of a Matcha flavor and the tart freeze dried berries inside complement the sweetness of the cookies and the gooey chocolate chips that they have in there are so good like the flavors are absolutely perfect and it just melts in your mouth. You don't even need to warm up the cookie for it to be so delicious like it's so moist and so genuinely good. I've been here before and I love their banana pudding. I've also tried their chocolate cookies and also so good but I just prefer the Matcha and the berry because it aligns with my pallet more. I definitely think that they should do more fruity, citrus flavors for example like a just a normal cookie base with white chocolate and berries like a strawberry shortcake flavor cookie I feel like would be so good. Paderia never misses. Got the banana pudding and the peanut butter chocolate walnut cookies the last couple of visits and both were good. The banana pudding is creamy and not overly sweet and the cookies are thick and chewy in the best way. Service was fast which you don't always expect from a bakery that's this popular. I only waited about 5 minutes for my drink to be made. The interior is very aesthetically pleasing and offers a few tables and a lounge style couch available. It's very well maintained, including the bathroom, which is also very nice. There are additional tables outside of the unit itself, so you can definitely find a spot there if not inside. TLDR: don't come in the mornings I love cookies (a bit too much), so I drop by Paderia in the mornings before work, around 9:15-9:30 and every experience has been a bad one. At this point, I just wish they weren't open this early if they're not going to be ready. First of all, all 4-5 times I've gone in the past summer, they don't have the chocolate walnut cookie in stock. They usually don't have many of the non-cookie items either, like the cheesecake or the banana puddings. The employees must not be morning people because they are never at the front. Also, the morning staff squish all the cookies into one box when it clearly doesn't fit. Maybe Paderia opens in the morning primarily to cater to drink orders? If so, I'm sorry I couldn't take a hint and keep showing up - I won't anymore :( read more

Every visit is a treat, but my absolute go-to order is their horchata latte paired with their famous egg tarts--they are incredibly flaky, creamy, and easily some of the best egg tarts you will ever have.
