I am so very late in getting this posted. We've been through a lot in the last few months. I must have messaged ten salons on here before finding BFAB. No one else wanted to help. The gal that received my message here quickly found one of their stylists that was willing and able to jump right in. For this reason alone, this salon should get all of your business, and will definitely get all of mine when i happen to be in the Bay. Kat is one AMAZING lady, we are so very grateful to her for saving our 19-year-old daughter's hair. She worked for almost TEN HOURS to get the matting out. Our baby was in a very bad car accident in October that severed her spinal cord and she will likely never walk again according to the doctors, and she was in a bed for three weeks before being able to sit up much. During that time, she developed a mat the size of a tangerine on the crown of her head. She's lost enough and we were scared that she might lose her hair, too. Kat worked tirelessly to ensure that didn't happen, and we honestly will be forever grateful to her. Please please give this beautiful soul all of your business, her kind heart deserves it. God bless you, Kat. There are honestly no words for how grateful we are for blessing our baby with your help.

I am thrilled to have worked with Margo at Bfab who literally saved me from doing my own hair and Atiya, their hairstylist extraordinaire, who transformed my hair from a birds nest into Hollywood siren locks. Margo reached out very quickly after I sent an inquiry and was very responsive, flexible and super easy to work with. They scheduled me Atiya in less than 24 hours! I'm so impressed with this team and will shout their name from the rooftops if I get an opportunity! Their prices can't be beat and I recommend them to anyone who wants their hair done. They knew I was a city hall bride who was looking for a last minute hairstylist and did not price gouge me as most other stylists did that day. I was left speechless when Atiya finished my hair and I did not recognize myself. Margo was great! She conveyed my expectations and wishes to Atiya and they were exceeded! The hairstyle held the whole day and it's day 7 now and it looks beautiful!! They deserve over 5 stars for their service, skills and efficiency!! Bfab was amazing!! I had a really HARD time finding a HMUA at first, I was coming across all these HMU artists who were either too expensive or had way too much attitude. But when I spoke to Margo, I knew I had found the right vendor. These folks are extremely professional and very organized! I got Carina as my HUMA and oh my I couldn't ask for anyone else.. I opted for a trial with her because I had to get 2 different looks (Indian traditional and western). Carina came home and worked with me on both looks very patiently. We collaborated and came up with ideas. She even made a PDF of her plan for my wedding day with all the notes from the trial day! For someone with an OCD for planning, this was great!! Bfab outdid all my expectations on the day of the wedding too! I had hired bfab for my bridesmaids' and mom's HMUA as well. Both artists were right on time, setup their stations quickly and got to work. Carina was just outstanding with both my looks on the day of the wedding...my husband's reaction at the first look and seeing me walk down the aisle were a great testament to her work! Most importantly, she made me feel beautiful on the happiest day of my life so thank you Carina! There was a slight miscommunication next day after the wedding with my bridesmaids' payment which I think could have been handled better but we sorted it out and I would still recommend this service to anyone who wants to avoid stress of HMUA choices.

I found Bfab while sending service requests through Yelp to do makeup for my 10/20/23 wedding. What initially drew me in over others was the ease of the artist coming to my home the day of and the reasonable pricing. My stylist was Carina and I can't say enough great things about her! She was a great listener and made sure she understood my vision before our trial. My trial went great but after some thought, I decided I wanted to tweak a few things for the day of. Carina was very helpful with my questions and adaptable to the things I wanted to do differently. Both the day of the trial and wedding, Carina was punctual, professional and SUPER FRIENDLY! I can be a little shy but she made me feel at ease, chatting as comfortably as you would do so with a friend. My makeup turned out perfect and I felt so beautiful. Highly recommended Bfab & Carina!

Had an appointment for hair and makeup for my wedding on 2/22/22, the hair I loved, the makeup I didn't like at all. The hair lady was friendly, easy to talk to and did a great job. She was on time and finished in the said amount of time. The makeup lady was 15 minutes late, unfriendly and made me look more Asian than normal. It's not a bad thing to look Asian, but I'm Iranian sooooo I was hoping to look more like myself. Hope I don't offend anyone here. Bottom line, I didn't like my makeup. It also gave me some pimples after washing it off. I like how easy Bfab was to communicate with, and making appointments and confirming was cool too. I'd definitely use their hair service again.

I have been SLEEPING on bfab! I was trying to book a last-minute blowout on Friday night (for Saturday morning) and of course all the in-store blowout bars (rhymes with shmybar or shmālo) were either closed or didn't have availability. I turned to Yelp and came across bfab. It was nearly 11:30 at night and their online scheduling system allowed me to request a blowout for 8AM, so I did it, not sure if it would actually pan out. To my surprise, I received a text like 10 minutes later saying that they couldn't make 8 happen on such short notice, but would try for 9:30 instead. Literally 5 minutes later I got a text saying they had a stylist who would be at my door at 9:30 the following morning. Sure enough, Simin knocked on my door at 9:30 sharp and was ready to go. We followed their COVID-safety protocols, wore masks, etc. and honestly, Simin gave me THE best blowout! Way better than any I'd gotten in an in-store place, especially when they rotate stylists so you rarely see the same person twice. The time I saved not having to drive to-and-from a place also really helped me be able to get out the door on time. Overall, it's only like $20 more than an in-store blowout (including tip!), which is not bad considering they provide all products, tools, and the convenience of having your hair done in your own home. I highly recommend bfab and Simin, specifically, as my stylist. I'll never go back to an in-store spot again--can't wait to book again with bfab soon!

I did a trial with Carina a couple months before my wedding, and she made me feel so comfortable and at ease. It completely exceeded my expectations.

I had a last minute mishap choosing my hairstylist at the last minute for my wedding (huge mistake). I went online and came across BFab. They were able to find a hairstylist within my area and available for my wedding day! I highly recommend you to do the trial, as it gives you an idea of how you want to wear your hair. Prices are super reasonable for whatever you need. BFab paired me up with a very talented makeup and hairstylist. Unfortunately I had a party of people doing nails and makeup for me, which is why I didn't book Sophia for the whole event. Ask for Sophia! She made me look and feel fabulous on the most important day of my life. She went above and beyond on meeting my wishes of how to wear my hair. Is this a real business? I had to play phone tag with them to get some initial questions answered. Couldn't hear them on the phone. We went back and forth in text about a trial and they asked me which dates I was free and never got back to me after I sent the dates. So obviously I figured I wasn't going to move forward with them and found someone more responsive. They had the nerve to text me a week before my wedding to confirm my wedding day services which I never even saw a contract for and never received a trial for. They then tried to say they didn't receive my text regarding the trial when we had actually had back and forth conversations about it via text. read more

Bfab was the best decision I made in preparing for our wedding. Atiya came to my place for a hair and makeup trial which really helped me decide what look I'd want for the big day. Margo was able to book a second hair stylist last minute, Sara, as our time to be ready was pushed back. Atiya did a beautiful job with my makeup and hair, and both Atiya and Sara did an amazing job with all of the bridesmaids and mothers hair! I was a last minute bride that called Bfab a lil over week before my wedding and talked to Margo who was great and honest with me about service and staff that was available to do my hair (dreadlocks) and makeup (I went with airbrush and lashes). I sent a few pics of myself and inspiration photos. I received the bios of the ladies that were coming and even with a last minute change I was kept informed and had no issues. My makeup was done by Elizabeth and hair by Maya. Both ladies were on time, setup quickly and made me look absolutely beautiful for my big day. I normally do not wear makeup and I do my own hair, but to be pampered and reduce stress of having them do it was worth every penny. The ladies were very professional and helpful with my family as well. I highly recommend using this service for all occasions and call them if you have any questions or concerns. Now I did like th service but I have to wonder about the experience of the person when they do Contour, they did not counter my double chin , what's the point of makeup if I have to remind of basic things like contouring has to be done everywhere .. that's just ridiculous.. All my photos are spoiled so far because of the way make up was done.. also I had asked in the initial discussion with executive if the person doing my makeup was carrying colored eye shadow pallets.. There were absolutely no questions around it and apparently was not conveyed to the beautician as well.. if you need more info about he colors please ask person ahead of time ..Also this was for the baby shower !! read more

I booked Bfab for a boudoir photo shoot. The schedule process was super easy and they are very responsive. I gave them such a low rating for the service provided. The lady that came was very nice but she did a very amateur job. I felt like an old lady with "Glamour Shots" vibes. Not the sexy empowering look I was going for. I honestly could have done my hair and makeup better myself. On top of hating the end result, they charge you $17(which is outrageous )for false lashes- but the lashes she offered were thinner and shorter than natural lashes! So I ended up just using my own false lashes but had already paid for theirs. Overall I'm very unsatisfied and I definitely wasted my money on this company. read more

It's not often that I leave a 1-2 star negative review, but leave one for Bfab I must. I didn't need a makeover for a photoshoot nor was I gonna be in a wedding party, all I needed was a simple haircut! Having looked in the mirror after showing I saw a wild man with unruly hair, so I booked my 1st men's haircut appointment with Bfab in the luxury of my home. Sad to say it was canceled cuz the "gent's grooming specialist" was on vacation until the following week, so I rebooked for my 2nd appointment. But that was also canceled! After some unsuccessful back & forth texts about mutual times, I waited until after I had a medical procedure, then decided to give it another shot. The 3rd appointment was booked, confirmed & paid the day before, yet the time was changed due to traffic concerns. Finally, I was gonna get a much-needed haircut! But then, on the scheduled Monday, 1.5 hours before the appointed time, it too was also canceled cuz the stylist has been exposed to COVID & was "concerned with some of her symptoms." Then I'm told she could make it the following day. Inasmuch as I'm over 70, I want no one that has been exposed to COVID "with symptoms" coming to my home, so it's time to say hasta la vista! The business model for Bfab is a great idea, having stylists all over the Bay Area, but I guess lining them up during these COVID times is proving difficult to manage. They tried, we tried, sad to say Bfab failed me. read more

Well, we were put in an awkward position foe a friend's wedding recently and ended up not having hair and makeup allocated for us as we had expected, so we were literally reaching out to all MUAH people on Yelp trying to see if anyone was available last minute for 2 hair and makeup. BFab fit the bill. Loved that they come home, and how smooth the entire transaction was. The owner, Sharon, texted us almost immediately after we posted a request and got to work trying to find us someone for hair and someone for makeup. Appreciated how the price included tip and emailed invoice that also allowed us fo pay via Venmo. Simin did our hair and was able to create classy updos that lasted for my sister. Sadly for me my hair got pretty flat before we even got to the wedding venue. Our makeup artist, Lamica was very patient with our needs and really listened when we needed anything changed up. As a new mom I also appreciated that both were very accommodating to my pumping needs while I was getting everything done. Loved how Lamica also took the time to let me know which shades she used so dang I could have an easier time finding a makeup match myself. Overall I really loved the professionalism, great communication, and ease of booking in addition to the quality of services by their team of experienced artists. I would absolutely book through bfab again in the future. read more

I am so thankful for this company. Last minute booking for my little sisters prom yesterday turned out to be perfect. Everything I asked for? Is literally everything I got. * Senior Technician ( that can deal with thick poly hair) * A time frame where she can focus on my little sister with out rushing! * Great service * Makeup, not to much but enough to make my little sister look beautiful. The Technician that was sent was very, very polite. She took her time and really focused on the ideal look I was aiming for and she aced it. So convenient and about the same price as going to Dry bar or Halo! Marcella came by to do an updo for my mom and some makeup for me so we'd be properly beautified for a wedding. Arrival was prompt and Marcella was friendly, professional, and extremely well equipped (I've never seen a suitcase of hair and makeup materials before!). Everything was really high quality including top-end makeup like Georgio Armani foundation, highest quality brushes, and products that are likely on par or better than a normal dry bar or salon. I loved getting ready at home, being able to show my outfit without having to wrangle it into a car and salon, and avoiding parking! Plus payment was handled by bfab so there was no awkwardness. Definitely will consider bfab again for my future beauty needs. read more

I had a wonderful experience with bfab a couple of days ago. My stylist, Maya R., was professional, responsive and super cute! She instilled in me a sense of confidence in her abilities to transform me into a diva as well as in bfab for vetting great stylists. I asked Maya to help me come up with a look for an upcoming engagement photo shoot, and she did not disappoint. Normally I am pretty decisive about what I want, but this time I was overwhelmed with all of the possibilities. Maya was very helpful in showing me some photos she had stored on her phone and we were able to decide on a look. I couldn't have been happier with the results, and the turnaround time was just over 1.5 hours for hair and makeup. I would definitely recommend bfab for the convenience -- you never have to leave the comfort of your own home. This would be super fun for a group of girls getting ready for a holiday party or wedding. First rate stylists; excellent and friendly - the same ones you would see in your local salons too. Treated a friend who was a attending a big birthday party with me - 4 stylist were all on time, and gave us the two completely different looks we wanted. As a mother of three I can't say enough what a time saver this is - don't wait for a big event - just use the service and you'll see what a good resource it is! Bfab saves the day!! Compared to any other hair+make up service, Bfab is definitely the most affordable. On top of that, the staff is really easy to talk to and very nice. I talked to them through phone and email and I always had a great experience. I had my hair and make up done by Ming, she was AMAZING. She made me look beautiful and she did exactly what I was hoping she would. It's always tricky when it comes to make up and hairstyle as it's easy not to like yourself in a make up you are not used to. For that very reason, I was nervous at first but Ming asked at every step to check if I was satisfied and if I wanted something different. She is great with make up and hair and she was easy to talk to and funny. She was very punctual and very professional. I definitely recommend both Bfab and Ming. Great experience. Customers are charged a $25 cancellation fee if they cancel, but when the salon cancels on a customer due to its own internal issues, all you get is a quick "sorry." There was very little effort made to resolve the situation, offer an alternative, or accommodate me in any meaningful way. To make matters worse, getting someone on the phone is nearly impossible, as calls often go unanswered. After two disappointing experiences, I no longer have confidence in this location's scheduling and customer service. I will be taking my myself elsewhere and would not recommend this location to anyone who values reliability and customer care.

I know how thin & stubborn my hair can be & am almost certain no stylist can ever blow dry any curls in my hair without tools...but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and made an appointment anyway because it was a last minute decision. I walked in a bit early so another stylist took a stab at my hair (and spent about 10-15 minutes working on it) before my assigned stylist took over - after about 10-15 minutes, she asked me if it's OK to use a curling iron...of course I said "yes" knowing it was gonna end up that way...her manager also approved using it without charging me extra because she also saw how much trouble both stylists had with my hair... I'm glad I at least gave them a try so I know they can't meet the needs of my hair (without paying extra for curling iron)!

They were taken right away, which I appreciated, but the issue came with my service. When I arrived, I was told they only had 45 minutes for my blowout. At no point did anyone clearly say, "We won't be able to complete your full service." Had that been communicated, I would have chosen to go home and style my own hair and let my daughters compete their service, especially since I had a very important event to attend. Instead, they had me sit down and proceeded with a wash and a quick blow-dry, with no styling, no volume, and essentially no finished look. I ended up with flat, unfinished hair and lost an hour of my time. This was extremely frustrating, especially on a day that mattered so much to me. Clear communication is all I needed and is extremely important for business when people rely on you to help make their day a lil lighter. I would not have gone through with the appointment if I had known the service wouldn't be completed. Unfortunately, this was a major letdown and not the level of professionalism I expected and now I'm driving home to finish my hair just mins before my very important event.

He just wanted it shorter around the ear- how could that be misunderstood??? It was a true emergency, because there was no way I would let my child go through the humiliation of going to school the next day like that. It was really THAT bad! I started dialing and hoping some kind person would understand and help us, but who would ever take someone after 8pm, and that was IF we could get someone to answer our call at 7:50pm. That is when i called Like salon, and this angel named Tracy answered and listened to our situation. It takes a very kind person to decide to help total strangers who were asking her to stay past closing time and take a brand new client, and that is the person Tracy is. We've all had a bad haircut at least once in our lives, but this was far worse, and it would take a very experienced person to somehow salvage what was left of my child's hair, and cut it into something that looked at least like a normal haircut. We knew it would mean having to cut all the gorgeous locks off that took over a year to grow, but seriously, there was no other way. Still, Tracy was able to transform a nightmare into a dream, and while the long hair was gone, the end result was a very smart style that will grow out well. It is quite attractive, and while my child was still inconsolable over losing all that hair, what a life saver Tracy was, and I can only imagine how gorgeous my child's hair will be as we continue to see her to shape it while it grows out again. So heart warming to find a kind, empathetic human being l, and what incredible luck we had in finding her. Thank you Tracy!

Within the first three minutes, my stylist was using profanity and discussing graphic, sensitive topics (specifically a reality show scene involving sexual assault). As a client, I found it completely unprofessional to have to redirect the conversation away from such disturbing topics. To make matters worse, the haircut itself is visibly uneven--one side is noticeably longer than the other (as seen in the photo). I called to speak with the manager/owner to explain why I wouldn't be returning for a 'fix.' While she was apologetic and did issue a refund, she repeatedly tried to book a 'next appointment' and 'put a note in my file' for the future. It felt like my concerns about the stylist's conduct weren't fully heard; a refund is appreciated, but it doesn't excuse an environment that feels unsafe or unprofessional. I will be taking my business elsewhere to have the length corrected.

I can show her ANY design and she always makes it even better than I had imagined. She's thorough and very knowledgeable about nail care to ensure my real nails still thrive under the acrylics and her pedicures are super relaxing. She's also in a private suite so you don't have to worry about other people being in an appointment with you which was an added bonus for me.

La Jolie has become like family. My daughter has been coming here since she was just five years old, and now at 20, it's still one of the first places she wants to visit whenever she's home from college. That alone says so much about the consistency, warmth, and care this team provides. Alicia, Pink, her husband, and the entire staff are absolutely amazing. They are not only incredibly talented and detail-oriented, but they also create such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. They remember their clients, take their time, and genuinely care about the experience they provide. Over the years, I've always been impressed by their professionalism, cleanliness, and dedication to quality service. Whether it's a quick visit or a longer, more relaxing appointment, I always leave feeling happy and well taken care of.

This comes REALLY late (Sorry, Margo) but I know I have to write a review! A 5-stars one that is. So I was in town for my pre-wed shoot at Sausalito and initially I was adamant I would do my own make up and hair since I'm going for a "casual" look. But after flying over for 20-odd hours from Asia, I thought hell no - this has to be good. I was panicking as I had only 2-3days to do research and make arrangements; most services needed booking AHEAD of time otherwise, expect RIDICULOUS charges. So red alert there! After inquiring various salons and make up artists, I chanced upon BFab and all my headaches + worry be gone! I was so glad that I got in touch with Bfab rep - Margo who assigned Timsi as my make up artist. Everything was a quick, done deal. Very efficient, fast response and smooth communications - these are VERY important in such crucial time. Most of all, it was reasonably priced ! It was under $200 for hair and make up services, with nicely done up. Unfortunately I don't have the before and after picture (Timsi, Margo - feel free to post them up!) but I got compliments across Asia about how gorgeous I look! It was bold yet natural. I was lucky enough to attend an event where there was a Bfab setup when they first launched and met the founders, who are delightful. Beyond wanting to support Bay Area women in business, I love hair and makeup in general and when it is done well, and by experts, not just wannabes, it is a magical experience for all. I was super impressed with the company offerings and the quality of their stylists for both hair and makeup - left the event looking truly fabulous. I have had my own makeup and hair done countless times in every way: in-home, department store, blow-dry bars, etc. and again felt this was tops in every way. I am also a professional event planner who has had to hire or work with a slew of beautification service providers many of whom were lack-luster frankly disappointing. I worked with Bfab as an added-value partner for a large-scale event I was involved with recently and they were amazing. I also have bought packages for myself and have been so pleased with the results. Completely worth it and so convenient! Please note I have had a total of 8 different stylists so far and all exceeded expectations indicating their ability to identify and retain talented, industry professionals! read more

I am not a person that wears make up daily and I had a very special event planned with my husband. We were renewing our wedding vows. I found myself looking for a hair stylist and make up artist nearby so that I would make it to my 11am event on a Saturday, on time. I took a chance and hunted the internet for something close by. I found BFAB. After investigating the reviews, I reached out to BFAB and I heard from Margo, I believe. She explained it all to me, how it works, what it would cost and she assured me that it would all be done in enough time to get me on my way to my ceremony. Simin showed up on time, she set up quickly and did a great job on my hair. She did such a beautiful job on my makeup that I was floored that I looked that good :). She was wonderful, knowledgeable and did recommendations for hair and makeup.. Both of which were gorgeous. I recommend her highly. I got my hair and makeup done for both my engagement photos and wedding day. I worked with both Maya and Alicia. They were both very professional and easy to work with. Maya did my makeup and hair for my engagement photos and we went with a loose braid hairdo and natural makeup. She was so nice and did an amazing job. She was on time and she was very attentive to each detail. Alicia did my makeup and hair for my wedding. We did a trial first and it went really well, so on my wedding day, Alicia was able to do any adjustment to help make sure everything went well for the day. I couldn't ask for anyone better to work with and I would definitely work with her again! She is so sweet and she really listened and attended to what I need :) I am so happy with my experience with Bfab and I will definitely work with them again! read more

Adrianna was prompt, professional and an absolute sweetheart to work with! I was thrilled to find a hair stylist that could come to my hotel room! I was very nervous about the recent spike in covid cases and really pleased that Adrianna arrived at my hotel room wearing a mask (we did as well)! We looked at a couple of different hair styles and agreed on one that would work best with my hair texture, length and overall look I was going for. Adrianna did a beautiful job and gave me the perfect style for my cousin's wedding! It even lasted through the following day's farewell brunch! Bfab was a great way to get your hair and makeup done in the Bay Area. The professional hairstylist came to my location with all her tools and products. I was visiting San Francisco for a convention and I was able to have a pro hairstylists come directly to my hotel room for a blowout. It was so much easier than going out to a Drybar or blowout bar. My on location stylist came to my room on time and was able to create the exact hairstyle that I requested. I loved working with the hairstylist, she was talented and professional. I would highly suggest that if you are looking for an easy way to have your hair styled, bfab is the way to go! read more

My daughter got married this past weekend and we couldn't be happier with the service that was provided to us. My daughter got her hair and make-up done and the rest of the bridal party had just their make-up done. We worked with Zhan and Brooke. They were wonderful! I love this blowout and makeup service! They send professional hair stylists and makeup artists straight to you. I was getting ready for my sister's wedding and we didn't want to all go to a drybar! Bfab is even better than a blowdry bar since the hairstylists and makeup artists come to you. I loved how the makeup artists were able to give us all a natural glowing look that was elegant. I called Bfab first time today that too in the last minute like 2 hours prior to our daughter's junior prom and Sharon was extremely prompt and helpful in finding the wonderful makeup artist and hair stylist, Maritza, for us. Maritza was fantabulous!! She did such an excellent job with makeup and the hairstyle and best of all she was so kind, super efficient and patiently incorporated our 16 yr old's requests. The hairstyling was well done, but unfortunately the makeup was very disappointing. The base makeup lacked proper coverage: there was not perfect concealer, and no contouring or highlighting, so the overall look felt flat and unfinished. The eye makeup was not blended well, appeared patchy, and looked messy rather than polished. I ended up having to redo my makeup myself, which took a significant amount of time on my engagement day and added unnecessary stress. read more

I'm so happy I booked bfab for my engagement shoot. Mandy and Simin arrived on time and brought my vision perfectly to life. The curls in my hair held for 5 hours, and my makeup only required a little lip reapplication in the last half hour of my shoot (totally understandable). I would definitely book them again!
