I was a bit worry because not many non Asian artist know how to do makeup and hair for Asians, not to mention I will be wearing a traditional Chinese dress, and I'm turning 60 which requires different makeup style than when I was younger. The founder Sharon responded right away and matched me with an artist within hours. She let me connect with the artist Sophia before paying so I could ask questions which ease my apprehension. Sophia arrived early the day, so she could start on time. She is professional, talented and very experienced. She is also very fun to talk to and makes the whole session very enjoyable. She asked what I have in mind and show her photos of my dress. She proposed colors and style and explained why. Quickly I have full confidence in her and let her do what she thinks is best for me that day. During the session I could tell she loves doing her work, so I feel that I'm an artwork that she is creating. The result was amazing. I still look like me but a much enhanced me. I couldn't be more pleased with Bfab! I had heard so much about them, and decided to try them out for makeup and nails before going out to a holiday work party. They were on time and were so accommodating with our space. They also were very careful to give me a natural look which is what I wanted for the party. I've used Bfab 2x so far and both times have been great! The first time I used Bfab was on my birthday. I wanted to feel special even though I had to work all day and luckily I found out about this service on a Facebook group. The communication was great when the stylist was stuck in traffic. Once my stylist arrived she was very nice and professional setting up and gave me an evaluation of my hair and how I wanted it styled. It took about an hour and I was good to go! She even took a photo of me in my birthday dress after :) The second time I used Bfab was close to a promotion and I asked if I could get the same rate even if it was a couple days later. Bfab reached out and gave me a discount and I was able to get my hair done the morning of my flight to England to see my boyfriend that I haven't seen for 2 years. My hair was silky soft when I reached my destination and I felt great. Service was again kind and professional. I definitely will use Bfab in the future, I love the convenience of them coming to my home especially since I only have a bike for transportation or lyft so it's super helpful! Bfab is fantastic!!! I recently got married and had spent months researching for a great company to do my bridal party's makeup. One thing I learned was that hair/makeup artists in the Bay Area are very expensive. But luckily, I came across bfab through Yelp and their prices were reasonable. I liked their client photos and decided to contact them. Margot and Sharon were extremely responsive and helpful. They emailed me additional client photos, specifically wedding ones. Once I booked with them, they continued their great responsiveness via email. They set up a test trial with their artist- Ming. She was absolutely amazing! I loved my trial and took notes on what needed adjusting for the big day. On the big day, I ended up being much darker from my spray tan and Ming easily adjusted my color. She created a masterpiece with my hair and my makeup was flawless. I couldn't have been happier with her work! Bfab scheduled for 3 other artists to come and help with my 4 bridesmaids. We had a small issue with one of the artists named Tanya, who gave a strange attitude to another artist. Tanya seemed a little inexperienced for the task at hand. She began the girl's hair by giving them a full blowout which was a little confusing and ultimately time consuming. She only ended up having time to do 2 of the girl's hair, and neither girl was very satisfied with the product. Luckily, one of the other artists name Kaira came and not only did the other 2 girl's hair beautifully, but she helped to adjust the 2 girl's hair that were unhappy with Tanya's work. We also had Marcella out working on 3 of the girl's makeup. She did an absolutely stunning job and everyone was thrilled with their work. I also had one issue with payment. I had made a $200 deposit over the phone when I submitted my contract, but bfab must not have kept record of this. I kept reminding them later through email but they didn't address the issue until the week of the wedding. Luckily, I was able to provide a screen shot of my payment transaction and clear up the issue. All in all, I would highly recommend using bfab!!! This seemed like such a promising service when I was in a bind to find a last-minute stylist for my wedding day. It was a huge gamble that unfortunately didn't go very well. My hairstylist was nice enough and showed up on time, but her service was disappointing. When I asked for a little more volume, she attempted to tease my hair with all of the bobby pins intact. Needless to say, it wasn't helpful at all and quite painful. She then let me know that my hair was difficult to work with. I needed a blow out for a job interview in Silicon Valley. BFab was extremely convenient, since I had no idea where to find a blow dry bar in the area. My stylist arrived to my hotel on time, was kind and did a fabulous job in my hair. The only reason I'm rating this with 4 stars was because I informed the stylist that I had clip in extensions and asked her to let me know if there was an extra charge. She just said "it's ok" and proceeded to place them in my hair. That to me meant there was no extra charge. However, I received an invoice the next day with a charge for the extensions. I had no problem paying extra, I just wished this was communicated with me prior to them being placed in my hair. I would definitely use this service again, though and would highly recommend it! When I first saw them at a bridal fair I thought: "this has to be either too good to be true or way too expensive" When I first called, I was blown away but how easy their were to talk to, we were laughing and bonding over the phone instantly. They bent over backwards to accommodate me. I called the company and explained that I wanted a faux hawk braid, which is complicated. I was clear about what I wanted and the scheduler said that she had the perfect stylist. I asked again to make sure and was again assured that they would send the perfect stylist. When the stylist arrived she had no idea what I was talking about even after I showed her pictures. Kat was working with me and was extremely patient with me and gave advise for what she had seen previously. Sometimes when you're working with stylists, you are nervous to ask for changes for fear of hurting feelings or stepping on their artistic vision, but bfab encourages feedback and is willing to make changes to make you feel as beautiful and comfortable as ever. I cannot say enough great things about the entire team at bfab! When planning our wedding, hair/makeup was the most daunting for me. I'm fairly well practiced in doing my own hair and makeup and while I could have done my own for our wedding, I simply didn't want to. Not to mention there was the bridal party to think about! I hired Bfab to do my daughter's hair and makeup for her senior portraits. Our portrait session was at 9am on a Sunday morning, so we knew that a salon appointment wouldn't be possible. I reached out to Bfab a few days in advance of our photo shoot, and they got right back to me with confirmation of our appointment. It was really convenient having my hair/ makeup done at home. The women who came were friendly and very talented. I got a great smokey eyes makeup, and beautiful chignon for my hair. They brought all of their equipment, everything was really easy and pleasant. Very happy with the result. My appointment was from 4:00-5:30.
