So as a courtesy as we wait we were lucky enough to attend this second class just the other day. The first class we did was a 30 min pilates class, this time we did a 30 min yoga class. There are so many aspects we like about Hotworx. Working out in your own private sauna is so calming. Controlling not only the heat but the lightening and sound too. The virtual instructors really do keep you motivated throughout the challenging workout. We find they are really helpful in keeping you going through the hot, tough session. After both sessions we are dripping with sweat, but our muscles feel alive and exhausted. We make sure to try to hydrate well after each session. Completing a workout at Hotworx feels like an accomplishment. You should try it out sometime for yourself.

The trainers are incredible--they bring energy, keep things fun, push you to be your best, and genuinely care about you as a person. What makes this location so special is the community. You start to see the same familiar faces, build relationships, and feel supported not just by the trainers but by the other members too. Jacky and Justin do a great job at the 2 PM Saturday small group fitness class walking you through each station for a great hour workout. Each class is different from what I understand after talking with both trainers. Today's was focused on total body so we did everything from TRX ropes to bunny hops. This workout was so much fun! Jacky and Justin are a great team of trainers to workout out with they literally know their shit! I used to go to LA Ftiness, Planet Fitness, Orangetheory and all the gyms you can think of in the Columbus area and didn't get as great of a workout as I do here. For 60 minutes, I'm getting a full body sweaty workout I didn't get at any other gym I signed up for in the past (I'm sorry but it's the truth). I can still feel that 60 minute workout as I'm typing this review, it's that effective. If you don't believe try it out for yourself one class is $15 but I think the 6 week class is your best option as you spend $50 for each class you come into. You'll have fun and make friends along the way, what better way to workout than that? I think it's simple just stop in and check it out for yourself!

The facility was as expected: a huge room with a large number of cardio machines, free weights, universal training machines and a 30 minute circuit space. There are gender specific locker rooms with changing stalls and showers as well as the aforementioned tanning, massage chairs, and HydroMassage Since I was new to the brand and location (I joined via the app with no human contact) I asked for a tour of the facility. The space was very clean which impressed me. The locker room, showers, changing stalls and toilets all looked good. I was surprised that there is no towel service and you bring your own lock, no self locking options here. I used the treadmill, locker room (purchased a lock from PF for $5) and changing stalls. I would say the facility is what I would expect for the price. Not an expensive fancy club but a basic space where you can meet all your workout needs. I'm pleased with my membership and the friendliness of the staff. One thing my tour guide left out was there are sign up sheets for the amenities like tanning and massage. Don't forget to sign up!

You spend 2 increments on the treadmill then weight floor 2 times. Giving you a balanced strength and cardio workout. The coaches are awesome! They walk you through each step of the workout. I love the combination of classes they offer through the day from 5 AM till 6 PM. This location decided to being yoga into the mix with HIIT workouts which I find highly effective. Shred415 is a mix of cross fit training. First you start on the treadmill or deck for about 15 minutes then switch. So if you were on the floor doing your cardio you go onto the treadmill. The point of it is to increase your heart rate and get the most out of the 60 minute class. At Shred415 it's not just a gym it's a community or family that has your back from the trainers to the people that show up to class with you to support you along the way in your fitness journey. I love all the trainers here and haven't had one bad class at Shred415. Just stop and see for yourself. First class is always free and right now they have a great deal going on for the holiday's.

Not…read moreonly has Jon's training transformed me physically, but his positive approach has built my mind as well. Last week I completed 4 days of backpacking in the Smokey Mountains. During those 4 days, I carried my gear 56 miles, ascending mountains. One of those days was an especially challenging 20 mile trek up mountain with a 2400 foot elevation gain in the last 5 miles alone! At nearly 40 years old I am pushing my mind and body way beyond my preconceived limits. I may have been slightly delusional, but there were times I could literally hear Jon's voice telling me to "Let it burn"! No matter what your goals are, Jon will get you there!

It's close to home, good variety of equipment, quality free weights, friendly staff and members. It also has clean locker rooms/showers/bathrooms and the workout area is well maintained. I can't get to the gym until after 9pm so the 11:00 closing time is perfect for me. I've seen some changes in the time I've been there but I see that as a good thing, like the owner is trying to be responsive to the needs of his members and the changing standards of the industry. The only drawback is that they close early on Fri, Sat & Sun. If they were open later on the weekends I would cancel my Purple Planet membership in a heartbeat.

However, that changed when I went to Powell Fitness and started training with Anthony Castore. It's not a sweaty, smelly, crowded gym with scantily clad women and perfectly coifed muscle head men who grunt. It's a very nice atmosphere with trainers and clients that are all very nice and friendly. It's clean and comfy. Anthony is the best. He is a bodybuilder but actually has a personality, a sense of humor, and he's kind. Kind is a major factor. He really wants you to get stronger and more confident. He's very knowledgable and the complete opposite of conceded and arrogant. He will sit down with you and actually WRITE stuff down about you on a piece of paper and uses a pen.Yeah, marinate on that for a minute. I live in Westerville and it's worth the drive to go to Powell Fitness. Especially if you're going to train with Anthony.
