I called BG construction and asked for a quote. He came out promptly and his quote was very reasonable. He was ready to work the weekend but I put him off until Monday, because of it being Mothers day, and a family birthday. He said he would be here at 8:00 am "Sharp". I was surprised to hear anyone in the building trades to use the word "sharp". On Monday he was here at 8:00 on the nose. He reminded me that I was going to do some more backfilling before it was to be poured or it would take more concrete. I had forgotten with all the weekend activity. No problem with Buck, I started backfilling and he and his helper joined in. The concrete pour went well. I was also taken back because the truck driver grabbed a shovel and delivered concrete into the forms. I have built several houses and I have never seen a driver do that! Everything went smoothly and they continued to work the concrete and make it "Perfect". When It came time to pay, I said "How Much?" because he had an opportunity to up the price because they worked to help me back fill. He said let's just keep it at how much I quoted. I was left very impressed with Buck Gomes. He said what he would do and did it in a very timely manner. He was a very pleasant guy on the job and around the house. He made sure that the concrete was perfect. They cleaned everything up nicely, and we had taken plywood from another spot to allow us them to bridge the gaps with a wheel barrel, they replaced them to where they had come from. Buck Gomes of BG Construction did a great job putting in a parking pad for my truck and trailer. He was cheerful and easy to work with. His bid detailed all he would do, and he did exactly as promised when promised. He checked with PG&E and Comcast for underground utilities, graded and laid out the slab, brought in sand as needed, compacted the soil, set the cement forms, installed the steel re-bar properly, supervised the placement of the cement and its finishing. stripped the forms when the cement was set, and used hand shovel work to tie the slab with the surrounding grade. All I had to do was write a check for the work that was done, and park my truck on its new parking pad. I've laid a lot of cement in my day, and have never seen a better, more professional job than what Buck Gomes of BG Construction did in my yard. read more

Buck Gomes of BG Construction is the real deal and I recommend him without reservation. I needed a septic tank replacement for my hillside home -- not an easy job. The digging had to be done by hand because there was no access for heavy equipment. Several other contractors simply turned me down. That was lucky for me, because I ended up with Buck. A few weeks ago, we contacted several paving companies for an estimate for creating a place to park our RV on our property in Prunedale, CA. Our land has a very steep driveway which ends at a flat area. The problem was that when we backed our RV down the driveway, the rear bumper and part of the undercarriage would hit the ground before the front wheels leveled out. We needed to create a better slope angle at the bottom of the driveway. Several contractors came out to give estimates. The first said it couldn't be done and the second said it could possibly done for a very high price. We were about to give up on the idea when we heard about BG Construction. We called and spoke to Buck Gomes explaining the problem. He came out that evening and, after looking the property over, gave us several options. We chose to have him attempt to establish the correct angle and to lay down base rock in order to see if it was possible. He quoted us a price which was very reasonable and said he would be out the following Saturday about 9:00 am. He arrived at 7:30 am that morning and began the tedious job of grating and leveling the flat area and creating a contour that would allow us to bring the motorhome to test if the angle he created would solve the problem. He had the angle established by noon and spent the rest of the day hauling in 5 loads of base rock. He was very professional and took the time to explain each step of what he was doing. Once all of the rock was in place, we brought the RV home and backed down the hill. We were all happy to see that his calculations were correct and the motorhome was able to back completely down to it's new parking area without a problem. We then removed the motorhome from the property and Buck returned the following morning to finish compacting the base rock. He finished the job on Sunday afternoon.
