Went for meal with family. I ordered boneless wings & 2 potato skins. Waitress brought out part of the meal, brought the wings out later. Waitress brought bone in wings, when I said that was not correct, her answer was 'That's what you ordered'. Made me angry right there. Told her to just leave it alone. 2 Potato Skins were not even room temperature, they were obviously from pre-made frozen scooped out potato. Generous amount of cheese showed no sign of melting, bacon bits still cold. We were only table, yet the waitress never returned to check on us until long after we were finished and were talking, waiting on the check. She had no concern I hadn't eaten the wings she brought out. Food not hot, service very cold. read more

He kept us updated with the status of our food and kept our drinks cold and full. BG's was famous for their potato skins, but will soon be famous for them for the wrong reason. They now charge $2 per skin and they are tiny. I mean tiny little things. Not sure what changed, new owners, new supplier but not worth the trip in town to get them. Hope they change back to a regular size potato skin soon. read more

My wife and I are in from Fort Carson. I'm originally from the area and I have had BGs before the remodel. My friend joined us for lunch here and the service was not good at all. The waitress was nice but she was nowhere to be found throughout the whole meal. There were only 4 other tables in the whole restaurant and there was another waitress and a hostess on the floor with her. I don't know how she could've been overwhelmed. The food was sub-par. The potato skins used to be huge and not as pricy. But this time around they were small and the skins were burnt. We were going to tell the waitress just so she was aware (we weren't mad, it happens) but she never came to check in until she brought our food and the check. My friend got a chicken Swiss and the chicken was seasoned very well and it was juicy but the toppings were so bland. My wife got a tiny chicken caesar salad that was nearly $20! My wrap was the same way! All 3 of us ate for $80 and for the amount of food we got it was horrible. There are plenty of other options in Cape Girardeau. We will not be returning here. read more

Warning!!! If you go here only get the potato skins!! The food here is of such low quality it's unfathomable. Last time we were here the food was undercooked (chicken) and cold. The bartender forgot everything and we had to ask repeatedly for silverware, napkins, refills, salt, pepper, condiments and for the rest of our order. I just came from there expecting the same great food but wow I am so disappointed who ever owns this place now has definitely ruined the place. The food is absolutely horrible. There were multiple things that could have made our experience better. We were the only table in the lounge area last night yet it seemed to take a while to get our drinks and food. The bartender doubled as our server but it didn't seem like the bar area was all that busy. My wife ordered a captain and diet coke however the bartender neglected to mention they didn't have Coke so she got a rum and diet pepsi. Would have been nice to know that so she could have ordered something else. When we finally got our food the fries were cold and the coleslaw left me wondering how fresh it was. We've never had any issues when ordering pickup so that may be what we do from now on. read more

I had not been to BG's in years, but I remembered how good the food was. I talked my husband into going on Friday, Feb. 3. It was about 1:00 and the restaurant was not busy. (Now I know why.) We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken soon after that. After placing our order of an appetizer of the pulled pork potato skins and two BG Burgers, one with fries and one with fried house chips, I noticed they seemed to be over-staffed. There were two waitresses taking care of customers and five more sitting and standing around chatting. When our appetizer came, the potatoes were not very warm and the pork was cold. The burgers were fantastic and so hot we had to let them cool a little. The fried house chips looked delicious, but they were barely warm. I mentioned to the waitress that the pork on the potato skins and house chips were cold and asked if this was normal. She said no and apologized and said they would remake the house chips. When the second order came, they were hot, but burnt. It was too pricey for the quality of the food. Probably won't return. By the way, our waitress was not one of those who were loafing.
