Awful! Had breakfast, food was cold, coffee warm, annoying flies while trying to eat and very over priced.

Since our hotel did not offer breakfast, my wife and I ventured out to downtown Cape to find a place to eat. We found this place and were excited about the local clean food that they offer. The building is a good size with a separate section for dining and shopping. We placed our order with a friendly employee. We were instructed to take a seat and our food would be out shortly. I ordered the Country Skillet. It included hash, bacon, eggs, sausage gravy, and a slice of sourdough bread. The meal was hearty and filling. Only real complaint was that it was a little light on the salt. If I lived in this area, I would be a regular. read more

We popped in 20 minutes before closing, and they were gracious and inviting answering questions and giving us a tour of the place. The butcher took time to explain the process of how they do the meats as well. We had a ginger tea with just a touch of honey, that was perfect and effervescence the dosa and the chicken curry were delicious and true for such a pleasure to eat real food! We are so lucky to have a market and restaurant like this in Southeast Missouri. Their food is delicious and they have an amazing selection of locally made goods in their market... produce, dairy, skin care, chocolate and so much more. They smoke their own sustainably raised meats and offer a wide selection of organic options. Super friendly staff and family run. They offer a little bit of everything and I love the different areas to sit and hang out. This is the only place we eat when in Cape. I wish there were more places like this in the Midwest! Cape Girardeau surprised me today. This burger was fantastic. Even the condiments were high end. I had no idea this existed in Cape. Everywhere else I've eaten has been decent but mostly subpar places. This place from the elderberry soda to this burger was really really good. It was quiet and well lit and lots of tables and space. Food came out in a good amount of time and was hot and fresh. I will be back! read more

There was only 1 saving grace the burger. Otherwise overpriced, bland and food cold. Service and line were long for some reason will never get the hype. read more

Our first time. I ordered the home made black bean burger. I was great! The bun was so good! They make their bread items and you could tell. My wife needed gluten free and they offered her a chicken dish. They told her that their sour dough would be gluten free. Nervously, she ate it and went nuts. She never noticed any discomfort due to the bread. To find an outstanding sour dough that would work for celiac is rare indeed! We bought a loaf to go. We also ordered a drink with ginger and turmeric. I loved it. My wife ordered some sort of reddish tea and she loved it. The staff were outstanding as well! They really try hard to please. Then, there is the market, which was very cool. It was like a throwback to another age. The store is connected to a consignment shop. You positivity give them a try. This place is great! I had an excellent burger with fries, homemade ketchup, hibiscus tea. GG is local, owned and operated by the Green family, and everything is made from scratch. You can also buy a few groceries here like salad greens, fresh baked bread, local Cape Girardeau honey, spices, bulk grains, etc. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. Truly an experience you need to try as a local or tourist .located downtown Cape. Family owned and very nice people .One side of the building is an antique Store ! I found a nice chest for my mom. This is, by far, my favorite hidden gem in Cape! Totally underrated. The food is fresh and absolutely incredible! I was fooled by the previous ratings. Don't waste your time. Food took over 40 minutes to come out, and it was cold. The temperature probably wouldn't have helped it. Biscuits were dry. Staff behind counter were friendly is the only nice thing to say. Too many other options in this town to settle on a cold breakfast after your butt has gone numb from the eclectic seating. This place is an absolute gem and a wonderful addition to Cape Girardeau. Their food is fresh, locally sourced and homemade with high quality ingredients. I am always impressed with how delicious everything is both in their cafe and market. More than that, I feel good eating it (even the desserts). Their meats and produce are way better than anything you can find in big box stores. Big props to them and the many local farmers they source. I've never bought a bad product from their market. My family and I are regulars and we are always warmly greeted and welcomed. I've loved seeing their growth and hope to continue supporting them. Went for breakfast and ordered the yogurt and fruit parfait. Waited 35 mins to get the food and once it came was pretty disappointed. The yogurt was thin and runny, warm, and sour aka not edible. There were 3 slices of grapefruit...not a mix of seasonal fruit like the menu said. Overall, disappointed. read more
