When I went home and washed it, it dried into a more shag inspired cut. There's a big difference between what I requested and the choppy and uneven cut I got. It's a hard haircut to disguise and my confidence has taken a blow. I spoke to Annie over the phone, and at my mention of the cut being a shag like she accused me of further cutting it once I had gotten home and told me she felt I was gaslighting her. This was within the first two minutes of our call and was really jarring. I offered to send her a photo to show what I was talking about but she refused, stating she'd only look in person. Her accusations were uncalled for and disrespectful, and I wasn't comfortable going back. I then spoke to the owner, Casey, and expressed how upsetting this was to experience. She ignored it entirely, gave no apology, and tried to reschedule me, even though it was obviously an issue that affected me wanting to return. I understand their policy requires them to look at the cut in person, but nobody would want to go in after being called a liar and a gaslighter. I said I was uncomfortable seeing her for my hair if she thinks this kind of treatment towards a client warrants no apology from the business. She came back with "our policy does not include refunds for non apologies." Overall, I'm shocked at the lack of professionalism and unnecessary snarkiness from the both the stylist and owner. Their website states they value creating a safe and comfortable environment for their clients, and review responses say that they hold their guest experiences to a very high standard. This could not be farther from what I experienced as a disappointed yet polite customer. Accusing clients of gaslighting and lying does not foster this kind of "safe" environment, and refusing to apologize for this kind of experience does not make customers trust you and want to come sit in your chair. I feel like this could have been avoided with a genuine apology on behalf of anyone involved.

The reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 5.... Avoid ModSquad at all costs if you are looking to get your nails done. For a pedicure, they are sorely lacking.... No massage chair to sit in. Basically a small barely heated tub for your feet. As far as finger nails, I wanted to get an acrylic fill but they don't do that here. My mani/pedi experience here was terrible. And for a mani/pedi, I was seriously here for about 4 hours. The poor girl truly had no idea what she was doing. Also very small polish selection to choose from. I would not advise anyone to ever go here for nails. They simply aren't equipped and should just stick with the hair aspect and not nails. Extremely Disappointing Waxing Experience - Facial Skin Damage & Unprofessional Response…read moreMy name is Susmitha, and I recently had my first waxing experience in Michigan at this salon. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst and most upsetting salon experiences I have ever had. First visit: I went to the salon during their business hours, but there was a sign saying they had gone for lunch and would return around 3:00-3:30 PM. I waited until approximately 4:00 PM, but no one returned, so I eventually left. Second visit: I called ahead before going back. I received face waxing and underarm waxing services. After I returned home and washed my face, I noticed approximately six visible marks/scar-like areas on my face following the waxing. I immediately tried calling the salon to discuss what had happened, but my calls were not answered. I have my call history showing that I attempted to contact them. The salon was then closed Sunday and Monday, so I contacted them again when they reopened. What upset me even more was how my concern was handled. When I finally spoke with the person at the salon, instead of listening to my concern and trying to understand what happened, I felt that she was extremely rude, sarcastic, and dismissive. She blamed the condition entirely on my acne and told me that she was not responsible and could not do anything about it. I fully acknowledge that I have acne on my cheeks. However, the marks I am concerned about appeared around my mouth, nose, and sides of my cheeks, including areas where acne was not the issue. That is exactly why I contacted the salon--to explain what I observed after the waxing and ask them to take my concern seriously. Instead of professionally discussing it with me, she also made an unnecessary comment about my age and appearance, saying that I did not look my age. I found that completely inappropriate and irrelevant to the problem I was calling about. Most importantly, she ended the call while I was still speaking. There was no effort to properly hear my concern, ask to see the affected areas, offer to inspect my skin, or discuss what could have happened. I am attaching photos showing the condition of my skin after the waxing and how it looked over the following days so people can see why I was concerned. I understand that skin can react differently to waxing and that complications can sometimes happen. What I cannot accept is having a genuine concern dismissed without proper evaluation and then being spoken to disrespectfully when I tried to address it. Based on both the service I received and, especially, the way my complaint was handled afterward, I would not recommend this salon. My rating: 0/5 Check my review on Google.
