We called ahead on a Friday night for a large group (14) around 5:30-6 (people were just getting in from out of town) and they said 'no problem'. The space is totally remodeled from the former tenant, Priya, and they did a nice job. We were seated in an area near a window, kind of behind the register--felt like a private room. We ordered a lot of food, great variety, for sharing within our group. It was enjoyed by all. I'd like to go back with just 2-3 of us & try it again Service was a little spotty, though a manager came by to see how things were & if we needed anything else. The servers weren't really good about removing empty serving plates, & we really needed the space. If they checked the table more often & removed things diners were finished with, it would be nice. We ordered the half goat mandi and the chana masala. Both were very well flavored with good spice and spiciness. The Mandhi was a good portion and could easily feed two people. The Rice was well flavored. It had a good kick to it. The yogurt sauce balanced it out quite well. Service was fast and polite. They were ready to explain the different options of curries and biranis on the menu. The ambience was overall clean; however, the floor was especially slippery. Sorry everyone, horrible experience, this might be the first restaurant I've ever walked out of. Long review; This is how it went. Showed up Saturday evening around 7 restaurant was busy, could be a good thing right. Kind of got a bad feeling right from the go, was told it would be a 30-minute wait even though looking around they're looked like there was empty tables. But we said put us on the list anyway and there was a little bar in the corner that we headed to. Again kind of got snuffed stood there and waited for around 10 minutes, the bartender looked at me was like do you need something, I said yes waiting for a table would like to get a drink, few minutes later he comes back to take my drink order okay. About 5 minutes later after 15 minute wait all of a sudden our tables ready. Ok, get seated then snuffed again nobody comes by to ask us if you want a drink or say hello or ask us if we want any apps we just sit there and wait. Finally a young lady comes over very uncomfortably asks what we want, I asked a few questions get really short answers like why are you asking? So we stumble through the menu, they had a special that looked good so I went out of the box from my usual, she said it was slow cooked goat on the bone in the dish pointing to the picture and asking her about it told her it was going to be my main because we also ordered an app. Discussion with the waitress is very awkward couldn't get any real info so I went with it. After about 15 minute wait our app chili paneer which was good comes out as well as my dish the special I ordered. Just drop by a food runner no chance to ask where the nan and rice was, whatever I figure it's coming pretty soon so we start on the app. Eat the appetizer nobody checking on us as my dish sits there and gets cold still no rice or nan to go with it, finally I feel it getting cold so I flag somebody down and ask about the rice nan, and I mentioned that my dish is getting cold. Few minutes later I flag down our waitress she stops says that my dish was an appetizer and then as we're talking about it my wife's main the rice and nan come out, so I'm telling her that my dish got cold didn't know it was an app I tried to order it as a main, it felt like communication totally broke down she was blaming us and arguing so I got to the point where I said I didn't want to talk to her anymore to call the manager over. He comes over and almost instantly wants to argue with me about how it's an app even though I told the waitress I wanted it as a main. Not to mention the dish was totally cold by the time the rice and nan came and it was so far from the represented picture and expected taste I thought it was gross. Show them the picture show them the dish told him how it was cold told him I didn't like it, they wanted to argue in the restaurant with me, and my wife right in the middle of the restaurant making the whole experience very uncomfortable and totally unacceptable. when you're customer paying money and expect to receive a certain standard of service. They did end up taking my dish off the bill even though our total bill was close to $50 that we paid for our apps my wife's dish and the drinks, if they would included my dish it would have been over $70 not including tip as far as I could tell you this was the worst experience the biggest rip off and a total one star. That dish was horrible they let me sit there and let it get cold had zero communication and totally argued with me in the restaurant big fat zero. While on my recent business trip, my colleague and I dined at Bheema's Indian Restaurant as he has been there before and told me it is really good. He's also Indian so if he says it's good, I knew it best to try and I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem in Madison Heights, MI. We ordered the Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Gobi 65, and everything was exceptional. The Butter Chicken was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. The entree came with basmati rice which was great. The Gobi 65 was a deep fried cauliflower appetizer that was really good but a bit too spicy even though we wanted it mild. Everything we ordered we requested mild, but be prepared for a slight kick. The garlic naan was fresh, soft yet crispy, and was great. I highly recommend giving Bheema's for delicious Indian food. You won't be disappointed! read more

This is the best Indian restaurant I've been to. Beautifully remodeled from the old Preya days, it was contemporary and very clean. Service was friendly and attentive. They have a full bar as well. I had the Tandoor Chicken Tikka and it was fantastic. They brought a small soup as an appetizer and then my entree which came with two sauces on the side. Menu is absolutely huge. Per my experience food was decent , but one female waitress was very rude . Not sure if she was being racist or what . My 5 year old was holding a menu and he was trying to read the words she rudely said me to take it off from his hand . And then I requested chutney is spicy for my son can you give some sugar or jaggery she said we don't go to kitchen like that we don't have anything like that rudely . Later one guy came and offered chocolate syrup . I asked to put ghee on dosa we ordered instead of oil and said if it's extra I can pay for that she said we don't make dosa with ghee only with oil . She made a frowning face while saying that . We asked for extra boxes to pack remaining food even for that she made a fuss. Overall very bad experience in terms of service . I came for dinner by myself and asked to be seated in a booth, rather than a table. There were several booths available. The hostess and server denied seating me in a booth as requested. The hostess said that the booths were for larger parties. That may be their preference but I requested a booth. A man dining alone probably would have been seated in a booth. Disaster. What happened to Bheemas? We've been going there several times per month since they opened. Lately we've noticed a significant deterioration in service and how the restaurant is run. All the former managers, servers and staff have left and every time we go we now see new faces. Yesterday we gave them another chance but that will be our last time. We ordered a tandori chicken dish and a paneer curry. The chicken was brought to the table almost immediately which was kind of odd. Then we waited and waited and waited. The restaurant was nearly empty with only three tables of diners. Despite staff being all over the place, nobody came to our table to check on us, nobody removed the dirty soup bowls, nobody ever brought our second entree. We didn't want to finish the chicken because we were waiting for the paneer. Mistakes happen. People forget. We're human. I get it. After another thirty minutes, they finally bring our paneer. By now, we are disgusted by the lack of service and just want to leave. They then start sending every employee over to our table to explain that they are too busy, they have too many tickets,etc.....in an empty restaurant. The cook comes out and starts screaming at us because he is "working hard" and then switches to Hindi so we can't understand what he is saying to the others. The server finally comes to our table and apologizes and says she is quitting and today was already planned to be her last day anyway. In short, we paid for what we ate and left. They never offered to make it up to us, never offered to take the paneer entree home. Nothing. They just lost their best customers. The owners really need to get this location back on track. read more

We went here for dinner last night and it was wonderful! Even though it was busy, it wasn't very loud, and there were enough people to take care of all the tables. There is a complimentary soup to start which was a lovely thin savory/spicy vegetable broth. My partner ate both portions, he loved it so much! We got the Gongura Chicken and the Saturday special Zafrani Chicken Kebab. Both were amazing! Rich and spicy and warm. I will definitely be back and bringing some friends. read more

Wow! We can't wait to go back here. The best Indian food we have had in Oakland County. The service was great, food was served very hot (temperature). Ordered samosa chat, unbelievably delicious. Was an appetizer, more than enough for 2. Butter chicken was the best butter chicken I have ever had the sauce was thick, not like most restaurants where it tastes almost like tomato soup with cream. Amazing. Tandoori chicken was fabulous. Nice portion size as well. Give this place a try and you won't go elsewhere. So glad we tried it tonight. All the staff was so attentive and friendly. Just missed being the first to review Bheema's (by an hour - too bad!). Happened upon this restaurant while driving around the area. We were glad - and - surprised - to find an Indian restaurant we had not yet tried, since we've been to most in W. Bloomfield, Birmingham, and Troy. First, the ambiance: very pleasant decor, as is appropriate for a relatively new establishment. Next, the service: we were served by a nice, young-ish staff. One of our servers was a student, going for her Master's in computer science. All who came to our table were courteous and accommodating. Now, the food: no complaints here, at all. We were interested to see a variety of dishes that we had never encountered, including on our trip to India a few years ago. We had to ask the staff some questions, as the menu did not provide much in the way of guidance. Suggestion to management: a bit more explanation of the dishes on the menu would be very helpful - perhaps a cheat sheet outlining the contents of the dishes, and possibly the part of India where the dish is found.. I got the daily special, which was a chicken dish, possibly biryani. Asked for it to be mild, and was accommodated (thanks!). The co-diner ordered chicken korma, which he pronounced "great." For appetizer, we were pleasantly surprised that a variety of samosas were offered - 4, to be exact: corn, onion, plain "samosa," and samosa chat. We split an order of onion samosa, which was very good. We also got plain naan, which probably wasn't needed. Our entrees came with a generous serving of rice, but what the hey - naan is always good, and this was no exception. Entree portion sizes were quite generous, and we rated ours very highly. All in all, we were happy to have found Bheema's, and will be adding it to our list of go-to Indian restaurants in Troy. One note: diners should be aware that the establishment offers an 8% discount for those paying in cash. read more

March 21st 2025 8pm. We have visited Bheema a few times in the past few months. Food is good, no complaints but the place is becoming a "Carry Out" kinda joint. They have closed the main door where the old Priya entrance was and use the side door in the dark alley/parking lot. They also use that entrance for carry outs and the cars line up outside and block the entrance. Random people and food delivery drivers are always blocking the door and the reception. They now seem to cater to carry out and not dine in. Food ordered comes in at random times and follows no real dinner norm. Dine in food wait time has increased a lot. After dinner today I tried to give my suggestion to bring appetizers before main course and the greeter/server gave me a lecture on "what people think of the food and their cooking times" instead of just acknowledging the fact the all our order came randomly after 45 minutes of wait. I am sure they are making money with less overheads in carry outs but they should not ignore dine in clients. My review seems very consistent with the other recent reviews. Curt answers and dry curt greetings will not make Bheema a restaurant of choice. read more

Disappointed Went with high expectations to celebrate B'Day. The Chutney for the Dosa had gone bad, when it was pointed out there was no acknowledgement. They did not take the dish back either, when I asked again, they said sorry! Biryani was okay, the Kofta was too sweet, Rasmalai was okay. Food is good. Horrible atmosphere and service. Person over the phone told me I can't order over the phone and refused to allow us to order before pick up. Missed out on the business of 12 people for it. The attitude for simple questions is so over the top as well. Overall I'd recommend you take ur business to rao gari vindu or kurrys as both are South Indian restaurants with better taste and care towards customers. read more
