Although the restaurant was completely empty inside at dinner time. Resembling a ghost town. I still placed a dine in order for Saag Paneer and Tikka Masala. Both meals were very disappointing. The garlic naan was the only thing I could actually enjoy. As an avid lover of authentic Indian cuisine. What was served to me was two very low effort, tasteless meals. The Saag Paneer had pureed spinach, with no spices present. Very runny like soup and bland. The Tikka was even worse. It resembled a butternut squash bisque in color and taste. There was no garlic, cinnamon, garam masala, cardamom or any other traditional spices in those two meals. I took them home and trashed them, as to be respectful to the establishment. A $50+ meal with the 20% tip I paid was not deserved. Food turned out to be very dissatisfying. I'm actually shocked they would serve us such tasteless food. Indian cuisine is known for its spices and more so spices simmering together. This tasted like canned food, thrown into bowls. Very unhappy. 0/5 stars! read more

1/18/2025 we stopped in here first lunch on a crisp cold Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was nice and clean, warm and well laid out with ample seating. The service was friendly, attentive and our lunch was served hot with minimal waiting. We opted for the Chicken Tikka Masala, naan and vegi samosa. Well prepared and plenty to eat. Close by street parking can be a hassle (pay by meter) and I think there is a parking garage around the corner. read more

Their chicken makhani is the most similar to the butter chicken here, we ordered it. We also ordered the Chana masala, aloo gobi and Bhindi masala. There's no Gobi Manchurian here, bummer. We also ordered some garlic naan for our starchy item to accompany all of the dishes too. Food would take about 25 minutes to be ready for pickup tonight. Was done in about 20 minutes. They brought the carry out bags to the table in the dining area. Checkout was quick and easy. The chicken makhani is good. Nice sliced, lean chicken and the makhani has nice flavor and a really good kick to it too. We tend to like our chicken dish spicier. The bhindi masala is also pretty good, nice flavors. Like the small pieces of potato or two in it, could have more in it. Had a few pieces of the onion ends in our dish. The chana masala and the aloo gobi were okay, but too soupy and not super flavorful to me. The naan bread was decent, not too much minced garlic on it, so it tasted more like a plain naan. The dessert has almonds in it, texture isn't for me at all. The butter chicken was definitely the best part of our meal tonight. Our bill total was $59.30. read more

YUM! Yes! This place is so good! I ordered take out because of COVID and it did not disappoint. The chicken tikka masala was so good! Not very spicy, so it was just how I like it. The chicken curry was also very good. Usually curry is pretty oily but this one was not, it was creamy and delicious. Let's not forget the garlic naan! It was huge, soft, and perfect. I'd never had Indian food and up until one of the most recent Ms. marvel episodes, I really didn't have the persuasion to do so. It's funny how media can influence us like this. Anyway, we decided to give this lovely establishment a try and were blown away by the quality. Despite being in Birmingham, the prices are very fair and the ingredients are top notch. It's always nice to be able to see the chef cooking behind the counter and know that what you're getting isn't some frozen dish but an actual homemade meal. $8.99 per person for buffet lunch. I was having a craving for some Indian cuisine. Why not, let's do it! The place is hella nice, it's hella clean and it's hella convenient. The food is hella fresh as well. Chicken tikka and the chicken curry is my favorite, luckily they had it included in the buffet. Even their vegetarian options are really tasty. The na'an bread is amazing and they keep it coming in the buffet. I went in for two helpings and some desert. The service was great as well. The staff was very attentive and extremely accomodating. Every time we went back for a helping of food, our tables were cleared and ready for the next pig out session. Best part of it is that we got ourselves the Mango Lassi. I was on assignment to photograph a few of this 9 year old Birmingham establishment's dishes. As you will see from the photos, the owner Jaynal along with his 2 brothers Maznu and Bayazid prepared wonderful meals with the freshest ingredients. I had the opportunity to taste the chicken tandoori, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and the hydrabadi chicken biryani. All tasted soooo good. Some of the best authentic Indian dishes I have has in some time. I have photographed and tasted over 300 metro detroit establishments and I must say that this small and comfortable bistro like restaurant on Maple makes my list for best of the best . I highly recommend Touch of India. By the way, the prices are lower than what you may find for Birmingham. Great value! read more

I used to love this place and the old owner, so it pains me to write this, but the food is almost inedible under the new management. Please bring back the old flavors and recipes. Used to be the absolute best Chicken Makhani - now tasted like eating bland butter - Veggie Samosas - first I've ever had filled with bland vegetables instead of potatoes, peas, and spices...even the green chutney sauce was bland this time. garlic naan - chewy and barely cooked, garlic still raw. Used to love the food - naan, chicken curry and tandoori chicken Marsala. When I bought takeout in April 2022 was good as usual the last several years. Now in October 2022 it's totally different for the worse. It's ok so 3 stars but. It great and five stars like it was. This was our go to Indian restaurant for take out over the past 3 years. It was great at first but they have changed their cooks many times. There was a gradual decline in their food this past year and we would keep trying to order to see if they have gone back to their original cook but they haven't. It is not what it used to be at all. Update 3/19/20: Once again reminded why this is my favourite restaurant! Given the current COVID-19 restrictions, we ordered a large takeout order that will last us a few days. Despite being extremely busy preparing takeout/delivery orders and only having a couple of employees working, the food was excellent. Glad to see this restaurant keeping busy during this time, and 100% recommend for anyone looking for a quick takeout. -------- This is my favourite Indian restaurant (and restaurant overall) in the Birmingham area! The food is always fresh and delicious, and customer service is excellent regardless of whether you come for the buffet, dine-in dinner, or a takeout. The dishes are priced fairly as well and generous in quantity (each dish usually lasts me 2 meals) This is my family's favourite spot and one that we have been visiting consistently for ages. Went here years ago and loved it!! Went here today and still love it!!! The staff here are so friendly and helpful if you're not sure what to order. Decor is spartan but nice. I've tried a lot of Indian restaurants in the area and usually leave disappointed. Not with this place!!! What it lacks in decor, it makes up for 10 fold in great good with wonderful service. Basically the only Indian restaurant in downtown Birmingham. Well it's a good one. I usually get the lunch buffet and at $7.99, it's a great price. The selection is just about right. Usually a curry with protein and good selection of vegetarian dishes as well. Their naan is excellent and they always have a some type of biriyani as well. I love the carry out of the buffet option. They give you two containers (one bowl for curry & one for everything else). I usually have two portions easily and never finish my carry out. Great deal. This restaurant probably deserves 3 stars for its buffet; however, there were several factors that made this an unpleasant lunch. 1. The restaurant opens at 11:30 on weekdays, I walked in at 12:10 and the buffet wasn't ready yet (specifically, there were no rice dishes). 2. There was no soap refilled in the bathroom. 3. The temperature control of the entrees was really off. The curries were scalding hot. 4. There was a person in uniform walking around the restaurant spraying pesticide or something around all the dining areas. Why would you spray down a place during prime dining hours? Very unappetizing... As someone who has lived in Ann Arbor the past four years, I can confidently say the quality, taste, and selection at this lunch buffet is poor when compared against Raja Rani or Taste of Suvai. I was drawn in by the $8.99 buffet but would've preferred spending it elsewhere. Their takeout might be better...but I don't plan on trying it. read more

I would give this place another name "Taste of India" on top of "Touch of India".. Reason is simple: their food serves you with both touch and taste. Menu options range from varieties of veg/non veg appetizers and main entrees. You could choose from samosas, pakoras to chicken stuffed items in the appetizers, and order from roti/naans/parathas, tadka dal, paneer dipped curries, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, chicken tandoori to decent extent of dry vegetable curries such as okra, cabbage, potato, cauliflower.... They also hv options of biryanis (veg/egg) plus some dessert items at the end (though never tried) but I am sure those would be great too.. P.S. They host everyday buffet too I guess ranging from $10-12.... So all in all, I would give this place concrete four stars!!!! read more

First time five stars for flavor and portions, second time flavor a little lacking but still good, this time my Dhal Makhani was waaay to salty, so the flavor was one dimensional AND My Navrathan Korma was watered down in favor, it was complex but barely there. -Hard to give this an accurate star rating because if anything they're very inconsistent. I'll say it's the best Indian cuisine I've had so far in this area compared to places in Royal Oak, Ferndale, and Troy BUT it's a far cry from the best Indian cuisine I've had. - Naan and Samosas are fantastic. Called back to let them know and was unapologetically instructed to order the chicken well done next time. Delicious!!!! After our favorite place closed, my fiance and I have been on the search for a great new spot for Indian food. Last night we found it! Ordered carry out from here, the guy on the phone was very nice took the order quickly and even made suggestions when I had questions. I had the Malai Kofta and it was outstanding. The dumplings were perfectly cooked, the sauce was just spicy enough. The veggie samosa's we fantastic, not to mention the naan was perfect. When asked if we could get naan instead of rice, was abruptly told "no substitutions". After that the mood was spoiled.
