This was by far one of the most UNPROFESSIONAL and unpleasant experiences I have EVER encountered. The property owner, along with a couple of others associated with her, displayed absolutely disgusting DISCRIMINATORY behavior that was completely unacceptable. She showed no respect, no integrity, and treated people absolutely HORRIBLY and OFFENSIVELY. I strongly advise against visiting this store or supporting this business. The owner openly disrespects customers, uses inappropriate language, and creates an extremely hostile environment. I drove from Modesto, Ca, searing for Astier de Villate, because the CURRENT website shows a fabulous collection, and there was not ONE piece. I spoke to the owner, who shared they USED to carry it, when I shared that the CURRENT website shows a LOT, he LITERALLY said "ok?? I can show you other things...." Today I stopped by in this lovely store to purchase several items for my events and home. The owner of the store was very grumpy and scolded me multiple times. She is an elderly woman. I complimented an item and took a couple of pictures for my clients but the owner screamed at me saying that the pictures are not allowed! I didn't see any signs so I was shocked. Placing a sign instead of screaming would be nicer! I walked away saying that she was not friendly, she continued screaming at me in the parking lot saying that I was stealing her ideas, "Go get your own ideas!" She screamed loudly as people watched her. I am glad I wasn't hit by her because she approached me in a wild manner. I was scared for my well being and decided to leave. I spent $500+ in this store previously. Too bad that the owner is mentally unstable because I do not want to shop in a stressful environment. Stay away! Stay safe! P.S. Rude and disappointing visit to nearby home boutique. First of all- NO masks. A friend and I went to shop for bracelets for a lunch and to also return a gift she only just received in it's wrapped box. My friend kindly asked to return the scarf as she already had one, and could she please have store credit or exchange she was rudely told and loudly, "Oh no, not after Covid! Our customers would not like that!" Customers? Well, the item was untouched in the box. At the very least, they could have said sure and put the scarf with it's attached tags in the back for a week. That would have gone a long way towards customer goodwill. And we know Covid isn't spread through a clothing item, but we do know it's spread by your breath yet the owner was telling us this with NO MASK ON! I don't think we've ever felt so badly treated. I'd give this store zero stars if it was an option. In mid July 2024 I visited Bianco which is a store I visit often. That afternoon I picked up from a lower shelf a battery operated candle and some liquid spilled all over my hand and linen dress. I brought the liquid spill up to an associate in the store and he told me that was liquid paraffin (seemed to be from the bottle next to this battery operated candle,) and I should go wash my hands in their restroom. The front of my dress was stained with this liquid also. I expressed concern about my dress and the two associates there COMPLETELY ignored me. I took the dress to my local dry cleaner the same afternoon and they were able to get the 3 stains out but the dry cleaning was $27. I recently tried to email the owner Randi with photos of the candle, the liquid paraffin bottle next to where the candle was, the dry cleaning receipt and a photo of the stained dress. I was asking in my email that she reimburse me for the dry cleaning. The email bounced back. I then called Randi today at the store. She was reluctant to give a correct email so I could share the photos and her tone was very rude, as if I were bothering her. When I told her what had happened I asked if she would cover the cost of the dry cleaning, she answered "absolutely not." She treated me like a scammer - someone who was trying to get their dry cleaning paid for and said "you are calling over $27?" She was rude,mean and nasty and even with my hearing disability I could tell she was screaming in to the phone scoffing me that I was trying to collect $27 from her. I will say words were exchanged between us. She seemed confused with the story I told her and I offered to email here photos and a summary - which she refused and said she would never give me her private email or any sort of reimbursement. (Her store email listed on her site is info@biancolosgatos.com and the email got kicked back to me and did not go through.) I finally said "Okay, don't worry about the $27 but you need to know that your two employees working that day along with you, the owner- are entirely rude." I've always loved this boutique and have spent thousands of dollars in there over the past 11 years, but no more. She was literally on the defense the minute I mentioned the dry cleaning bill - for a dress that was soiled from her store product I touched. Beware of the spiraled bad customer service there. She took NO ownership or responsibility at all, nor did she care to listen to my story. I see other one star reviews here. It's incredibly sad (for the owner) when you want to support a small business but the staff treats you so dismissively that you never want to return. I bought seven items and asked for gift wrapping. The manager said they were too busy. Got plain brown paper bags when they pride themselves on gift wrap. They would have for one, but not for more? You get treated worse when you buy more than less? Not going Update: A manager had replied to my post above, apologizing, asking me to go back, and they'd make it right. I just went back for another visit, hoping they would redeem themselves. Apparently it was just empty words. The male manager today just vented about how much he dislikes YELP, how they have had issues with DPT of Homeland Security, etc. ????? I like what my wife bought here, a very nice 100% cashmere poncho, very soft. The person who helped us did an excellent job answering questions and did a very nice job gift wrapping the purchase. I don't mind paying for quality and artistic items, but buyer beware! Some things are way overpriced at this store for the quality and what it is. Poo pooed store as store no longer accepts any exchanges or returns. I purchased a few large items for hundreds of dollars only to go home and it doesn't look right in my decor. Tried returning it the next morning and salesperson firmly states absolutely no returns, credits or exchanges per the owner. I recommend shopping at other decor stores like Anthem in Menlo Park /SF where they have a better return policy and you can bring things home for trial to see if it looks good in your home. I don't usually write reviews, but I've been to Bianco twice and want to warn people; don't waste your time. Bianco is a small shop in a street-facing retail strip mall near downtown Los Gatos. The first time I went to BIanco I was approached by an overly aggressive security guard in the parking lot who put me through the "third degree' about where and for how long I was going to shop. Really? I've never experienced anything like it. Nothing like presenting a welcoming face to your customers. When I politely mentioned the aforementioned parking lot incident to a Bianco employee (during my first visit), I was gruffly and disinterestedly told that Bianco manages the security guard and that the guard was there "for your own good" For "my own good"? A completely tone deaf response to a politely phrased concern that was really off-putting. Both times I went to Bianco I had to scan the place to find what I can only describe as a disinterested person to help me. Keeping in mind that BIanco is a small shop - my question for Bianco is "where do you people hide?". It's kind of cool to see all the white objects at Bianco, until you look at the prices and how some of the items appear to have come from some off-center design center, or outer space - e.g. a massive, white ceramic bull's head wall hanging and a massive white platter, both at absurdly high prices (thousands). Even the smaller items at Bianco are far more than one would pay in Italy, or even some of the more tony department stores in the Bay Area for imported white home furnishings and other objects. In summary, my sense about Bianco is that it wants to be "artsy", but it comes off as unwelcoming and more than a little bit pretentious, with prices to match. I recommend going elsewhere for your "white things". read more

Thought I was getting old fashioned down home service from a small business owner. I purchased a couple of unique jewelry items for my wife for Christmas. The staff was very nice and the wrapping of the gifts was beautiful. Long story short, one of items was too big for my wife's wrist so I decided to bring it back and exchange it for something else. I was told there was a no return policy for jewelry. I was disappointed and went back to my car. Before I left I decided to check the receipt and it said: No refunds - exchange or store credit only. Then it says All jewelry, clothing, lighting, home furnishings and holiday items are final sale and not returnable. That prompted me to go back in the store and ask what is returnable? Because to the best of my knowledge that pretty much covers everything they sell. The clerk was very nice when I asked what actually is returnable? She mention maybe a candle and I said well isn't that a home furnishing? She smiled then said it was the owners policy.... The receipt should say NO Returns or All Sales Final. Because that's really the policy. Not sure why the owner is running a small boutique shop in lovely Los Gatos like Walmart - low rent if ya ask me. Will not go near that place again. I wanted to give Bianco another try. I have been in Los Gatos for many years and also in the retail part of downtown Los Gatos. I do think that Bianco has really nice things in the store and some very unique things. But the customer service is so bad and so RUDE RUDE RUDE I cannot see how this place is even in business. I went in one day looking for a Birthday gift. I was greeted by a very nice lady, she was so nice to talk to and really helped me out. As she was helping me with a Votivo Candle, this dark short haired lady came out from behind and told the lady helping me that "Tom" was waiting for her in the back to help him. The lady helping me had this look of total fear on her face and she smiled at me and just walked away from me in mid sentence. The dark haired lady that came out and told her that this Tom guy needed her help just looked at me, standing with a candle in my hands and walked away. I looked at the lady that was helping me and I said how sorry I was for getting her into trouble. What else could I do? i felt bad she was only doing her job and doing it very well. The woman that came out with the short dark hair just walked back through the double doors and sat back down looking at me through this little window cut in the wall looking out into the store. I looked around and there were other customers in the store looking rather upset at just what happened. One of ther other customers just looked at me and said "well I guess they do not need out business" I said "I guess not" I placed down the very expensive candles that I was going to purchase and started to walk out the door. As I was walking out my temper got the best of me. I turned around and believe it or not the lady that was in the back with the short dark hair stood up and asked if she could help me. ARE YOU SERIOUS. YOU STUPID WOMAN! You not only lost my business but also the other customers that walked out of your store that did not say anything. I looked at her right in the eyes and said to her " You are the most unreal, rudest person I have even come across in retail" You sould be ashamed of yourself comeing out and putting the other sales lady on the spot like that, then turn around and walk away from a paying customer. She had this look on her face like she had never had anyone talk to her like that. She was totally stunned and had no clue in hell what she had done. I have been reading the other reviews and I have to agree how RUDE this place is and how over priced it is. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! It might be Los Gatos but really, your not that great of a place. You really need to check your attitude, come down and few steps, learn how to say hi, how are you doing, just be nice and learn some customer service. Incredibly rude staff ruins what should be a great shopping experience as the store is lovely but the people who work there aren't. Went in with my mother on July 11 to pick out a gift for my birthday and though we found several things to buy, we were so put off by the staff that we left without purchasing anything. There was a young man and a sour-faced, dark brown haired woman working in the store and we were the only 2 customers in the place. For the entire 20 minutes we were there, neither one greeted us or asked if we needed help. It's as though every staff member is trained to act dismissive and rude to customers. From reading similar reviews and from having multiple negative experiences with the staff over the years, I can't figure out their approach as it certainly drives business away. read more

Probably the nicest shop in Los Gatos. A wonderful mix of old and new, French and Italian, feminine and masculine. Bianco is high class all the way. The great thing is that you can shop here and find something that won't cost an arm and a leg, or you can spend a little extra and know that you are getting top of the line unique items. They are always one or two seasons ahead of the major retailers- last year Bianco was selling lots of mercury glass and this year its all you're seeing at Pottery Barn! Plus, their inventory is always changing. One month you see something and then the next month its gone. Gift wrap is superb. Sometimes I think the wrap costs more than the gift I'm buying! Great for Holidays gifts (in fact I think their Christmas items are about to go out!). Do yourself a favor and at least stop by Bianco and take a look. Where do I start with this sad excuse of a business? They are far from classy and sophisticated, as they claim to be in their store and on their social media profiles. My friend and I were in there a few weeks ago after having lunch in the area and I have never left a store feeling as horrible as I have. The two people who were supposedly working there ignored us for the first 5 minutes we were, gossiping and obviously in no want to actually work or be decent to customers. My friend asked a question about an item and they just said: "yeah it's over there somewhere, look around". Like really? Is it that hard to actually help a customer? After a few more attempts of engagement and literally just being followed around the store in a creepy way, We ended up leaving shortly after because no one would help us in a polite or normal way. I couldn't shake the horrible service and looked up their social media, hoping this was not a common thing. Well, based on the white nationalist/right-wing ideals being posted on a business page, the owner promoting her "classy" personal life, and also extremely rude replies to anyone who dares to call them out on their behavior, it all adds up They either think this behavior is ok or they don't understand this behavior online can actually have consequences. How darling is this store? Pure... I say! ('Too' in Italiano) While we were visiting friends over the Holiday we stumbled upon Bianco and since I am Italiano I knew the boutique's name meant white and that's my favorite color! Love, Love, LOVE! Everything in the store were different shades of white.... very angelic and dreamy. Kinda Shabby Chic with a Rustic European feel. Loved the Busts that were adorned with Boa feathers while dripping in pearls. Bellissimo! I bought several Snow White pine cone candles in different sizes for my dining room table. DISMISSIVE and RUDE. I shopped here (or tried to) several months ago and have been meaning to leave a review. The lady who was there while I was shopping could care less that I was there and wanting to purchase several gifts and a cashmere top. I tried engaging in a conversation with her as she had no issue doing so with another patron but she blew me off. I was so put off by the experience that I put everything back and left. Not that it should matter but felt I was dressed appropriately and well put together. I was on a work lunch break so I know I looked professional. I am a frequent shopper of this tasteful store in my hometown of 25 years. Yesterday, I stopped by, to pickup two gifts for family, and was greeted by a rude sign on the front door referencing their preference for Trump. I was surprised and saddened. A women was at the door and saw me, and opened it to say they were closed and renovating, "to make America Great Again", I said I was sad to hear that, and told her I was upset she was using politics to market her business. She screamed at me, god know what she sad, and slammed the door shut. Oiy! Guess I am no longer a good customer of theirs. Saddened people are behaving in this manner. Bianco has great merchandise but what a lousy experience I had After purchasing a gift there, I went next store to give it to a girlfriend over lunch. Much to my surprise, the owner, Randi Zanardi, came into the wine shop to "find me" to tell me to move my car from her store's parking space (again, next store to the wine store where I was). The wine shop owner told her I had bought merchandise at her store so she left - but later when I went to get into my car, there was actually a note on my windshield "warning me" that I shouldn't park there as the attendants might do me harm. REALLY??? Her husband owns the whole shopping center but she is going to bitch me out about parking in front of her store ?? Given there was nobody in her store when I was there, I would question her treating customers this way. i will never shop there again. read more

This place is a bit of an anomaly for the male. When you walk in there is an immediate soothing quality about the place, it's really a world class atmosphere but I wouldn't know what to buy. I can guarantee this though if you give Randi the owner or one of the staff the slightest bit of information about wife or girlfriend they will help you choose something that will astonish. I've bought all of the gifts for my wife mother, sister, aunt and niece here over the last 2 years and they all think I have had an evolution of taste. I want to give Bianco the highest recommendation possible! I have been shopping here since the store opened and have never been disappointed. As much as I love to shop, I was getting tired of seeing the same items everywhere else in recent years. Bianco is so different! The owner, Randi, scours the globe to find the most unique, exquisite items. I have also found her staff to not only be supportive of her, but very kind and helpful to me, and it saddens me to read some past reviews by people who feel otherwise. In any event, the new faces that I now see amongst her employees may change the views of such critics, and shoppers are now getting the warmest reception ever. Bianco's vision is that the store goes beyond just a site to purchase goods (and it is a wonderful place to do just that!). In addition, the owner envisions her store as a place where people, especially women, can come together and create a community. More importantly, the store feels like a daily gathering place. The decor changes constantly, so there is always something new to see. The fragrances from the beautiful candles and skin care products permeate the air and soothe the senses.
