With Party City out of business, it's been tough finding local and available party stores for last-minute event items. While Michaels and other craft stores carry some things, I've found them to be pricier and more limited in selection. I found Affordable Treasures on Yelp while searching for baby shower supplies. It's definitely a great spot for birthday parties, Halloween, and costume events-- they have a WIDE variety and lots of fun finds for those events. For specialty events however... the selection is a bit lacking. For example, their baby shower section was mostly gender reveal items, so not exactly what I needed. That said, the prices are fair, and I'd definitely come back if I needed costumes or birthday supplies in bulk. read more

They got all your party supply needs ranging from 15-in letter balloons to latex balloons to everything that you need in between the decorate for a party. I love that I was able to select several party favors and bag them there too well buying a great selection of balloons for a surprise party. They also have tons of costumes and accessories in case you ever have a themed party to attend and you procrastinated and didn't plan ahead so this is a great place to go. The service was super sweet they were very understanding and inflated over 20 plus balloons and then 10 letter balloons for me and we're very patient with me so they were super awesome. Well I was starting to really enjoy this place as it was my first time and I love anything craft-like. I enjoyed the random, fun, little trinkets they offered, I just wasn't digging the prices for them having the name "affordable" in their name. Anyways, I got a fun, little, voodoo doll for my sister which was neat and when I got up to the register I had taken out cash out and I used a 10 bill and it was funny cuz she decides to look at it through the light as if it was fake. Fin pulled a proverbial rabbit out of a hat, graciously making these decorations happen within mere hours of the request - despite a pretty notable holiday in the pipeline - going so far as to recon my event space, taking the initiative to make strategic recommendations for artistic direction that was budget-friendly and considerate of event logistics. This place is so cool. There is always something for the kiddos, and an entire aisle of random stuff for under $5. They have the best selection of stuffed animals and always have the perfect not so ordinary gifts for anybody on your Christmas list. They have a wife selection of costumes for Halloween, and they also have balloons way less expensive than getting them at the grocery store. It's a pretty cool party store, they have everything for parties like decorations, supplies, balloons, costumes, toys, etc. I think they have a better selection than Party City (RIP). Though for a place called "affordable" it is not that cheap. If you buy 2 or 3 things that aren't cheap little toys it is like $20-$30. Also, if you want rubber (latex) balloons you must buy it a day or 2 before else they tell you the balloon will deflate even with the stuff they put inside it to make the Helium last longer. I came here during the Christmas season and I was blown away by all of their Christmas gear. I spent almost an hour looking at bags, ribbons, and balloons! They have something for every style and aesthetic during every season. Last Christmas I had a Grinch theme that I purchased from this location, and this year, I chose to do snowmen. It's the type of location that makes you feel like a kid all over again. You guys always have the best decorations and you can really tell everything was picked out with love since everything is so unique and festive. Total sensory overload in the best way. Needed to get some decorations and balloons for a graduation and never thought I would end up finding balloons with my niece's high school name one it. Whenever I'm thinking of a visit to my childhood stomping grounds, Affordable Treasures is in the top places I want to go. I love the mind boggling selection, and could spend hours just taking in the unique items intermingled with the tried and true favorites. It's a bigger store than it appears to be at first glance, too. I absolutely know I've still not seen all of it. The best part is that there's a sense of homeyness that makes you feel warmly welcomed without uttering a word (tho I don't recall entering without one of the staff greeting me). Last time I was in I was under funded but had just enough to pick up some adorable monster plushies. This place not only has the BEST toys around but the most unbelievable customer service I've ever experienced. I've been in twice before and was amazed by the selection of toys! I called in at 4pm on a Friday because I needed toys for my 9 year old nephew but was not able to go into the store. A fantastic staff member by the name of Lisa was kind enough to text me photos of gift ideas while she stayed on the phone with me - she found great gifts and even gift bagged it. I used to love shopping here until I came in yesterday and witnessed one of the senior employees speaking down to an employee who couldn't have been out of high school yet. This encounter disturbed me and my husband so much that I felt the need to make this account and share my experience on yelp. As someone who has lived in Los Gatos for over ten years and has always loved shopping at this store it is so disappointing to see the verbal abuse their young employees are subjected to by their superiors. I definitely caution others to think about supporting businesses that speak so poorly to their young employees during a national pandemic. This isn't how we should be treating young essential workers. UPDATE 12/26/2020 I am astonished to see the owners of this business claiming that my review is fake. This companies inability to accept any negative feedback is ridiculous to me. The manager who insulted the employee did so in the middle of the work day at the counter! She was a brunette woman and obviously had no patience for her young employees. I wasn't going to update my review but after having one of the young employees comment on my previous review about having been fired for my review and now having the owners of this business claim I am a fake, I had to speak up.
