The first time, Ricky tried everything while I waited to fix my chain before determining I needed a new one. The bike was then ready in an hour. Today I went in twice - first looking for toe clips for my bike and, while I was there Ricky checked my tires and filled them for me. I went back in after my ride today as my gears were slipping and offered to leave the bike as I knew they had a backlog. Ricky insisted on taking a look while I waited and was able to adjust it on the spot. Great service and expertise. Highly recommend. (They also seem to have a good selection of bikes and accessories for sale).

The service there was as well when compared to their Fenwick Location. The fellows there do repairs quick and correctly. The sales there are great. I have no clue how I'm supposed to fix it other than contact the company and see what they can do. Also the gear mechanic where you switch gears was loose no biggie tightened with an Allen wrench. This was all to get front and rear pads replaced and brakes tuned. Bike stops okay still squeals really bad. Fast repairs but something is broken or messed up. These guys were amazing…read more We were spending a few days at the beach with my teenage daughter and a couple of her friends. They wanted to rent bikes, and we were happy they were out and about. This place was conveniently located and offered great rates for the multi-day rental. They even had locks and helmets available. The real amazingness came at the end of the trip. The car was packed, and we were ready to go. The plan was for the girls to ride their bikes back to the shop, and we would pick them up there. However, as luck would have it, none of the girls could find the keys to the locks. We called the bike shop for suggestions. They said all we had to do was stop by their shop, pay an extremely reasonable fee, and they would handle picking the bikes up from there. It didn't bother them that the bikes were parked amongst hundreds of others at Sea Colony. I guess this kind of thing happens a lot. Long story short, we got going without losing time (because the girls didn't have to pedal to the bike shop), and Bethany Bike Shop earned our business from now on.

On my unannounced arrival (April 1, 2026) at the Bicycle Connection (5 Atlantic Ave., Ocean View, DE) in Bethany, I was warmly greeted. I discussed my concerns with Chris Bond and staff, solutions were offered and implemented that allowed me to successfully complete my tour. The store was very busy with customers but Chris and his staff found time to help me fix my bicycle that allowed me to continue my tour North. The Bicycle Connection in Bethany had all the tools and parts needed, they were very happy to offer suggestions and help. After an hour of disassembly and reassembly I had a much healthier bicycle! There was a large variety of choices, with some models as low as $7 an hour. We just happened to walk by and ask how much it was to rent one but didn't really intend to do it at first because we assumed it would be a LOT more expensive. We were pleasantly surprised! Glad we stopped by and had this awesome experience! The owner was very kind and deaf friendly too! Often times people have no idea how to interact with deaf people, but he was very comfortable and inviting, and even threw in some homemade signs that made sense. The extra effort was definitely noticed!
