(I'm a very novice rider) I was out on the Hayden bike path and noticed something wrong with my back tire. I googled bike shops near me and bicycle haus was right around the corner. I called ahead and by the time I arrived, they were closing up the shop. Craig (Craig or Greg) found new tires for me and changed them all after their operating hours. It's a very nice place- but Craig and the other staff were very welcoming and gracious to me. At first glance, I didn't think it was a bike shop but when I walked in the door, I was totally amazed. From the service from the staff to the selection of riding apparel, helmets, gloves, socks, you name it they had it in an every size. Then, after looking around, I realize they had an upstairs section and had a very, very large selection of bikes from entry level to super high end. The shop is immaculate and my experience was like I was buying a new car, but better. They sized me and arranged a custom fit appointment to really dial in my bike to me. Didn't realize this was such a nice bike shop. I brought my old beater bike here because someone stole the seat and the tires were flat. Was kinda embarrassed to even get it out of the car. I've dealt with the arrogance and attitude of these guys for years but this latest encounter was just ridiculous. Craig needs a major attitude adjustment. I mean, what the hell is your problem dude? Lighten up buttercup. You act like you have a cucumber up your a$$. I took a look at the other reviews of this place and it looks like I'm not the only one that feels the same exact way! I have been sworn to honesty and Truth, when leaving yelp reviews. Sometimes it's painful but I have to tell the truth. They have bad customer service. I walk through door and five male employees literally looked at me and ignored me. No hello no hi no nothing just that bigoted attitude that we're all so used to. I just stood there, until someone eventually came out the back to help me. I was the only customer in the store! Do you know how insulting that is? I wonder if I had blonde hair and blue eyes, would I get the same reception? We are getting closer and closer to a day and age where you canNOT afford to discriminate. I brought in my Pivot LES for a tune up. The high gear was hopping when pressure applied to pedals. I specifically asked them to get on bike and stand on drive train to simulate a riding situation. After a very expensive tune up which was basically a cleaning, I picked up the bike and rode bike from shop to trail 100 and not only did the drive train perform the same problem, the axle was hanging have way out of hub. Sure enough the internal hub was ruined (INDUSTRY HUB $$$$$$) brought bike back and of course they denied everything. The store manager said that trail 100 is a "bike Killer" and I should find other trails. I am 3rd generation Arizonan. 1000s of people have cut their teeth on trail 100. This shop will not admit when they are wrong. worst of all they can't get around the snobby attitudes. over priced, snobby and does not take care of owners needs. read more

I was connected with Bicycle Haus for an industry work project. My company had purchased two Scott road bikes for a photoshoot in the area and Bicycle Haus was recommended by the bike manufacturer for the builds. I was immensely disappointed in both the service, the professionalism and the shop's communication. First, one of the bikes wasn't built as requested. We had arranged for a specific style of handlebars that would showcase one of the products we'd be shooting. The shop employee had promised "it was no problem" to swap these out for the additional cost. Apparently, they had the bars but couldn't sell them to us. We found this out when I called to confirm that the bikes were ready when our flight had landed. Secondly, the bikes were not built on time. Both of these things may seem minor, but we had flown in from out of state for a three day project. I had called and emailed the shop several times in advance to make sure everything was in place. The shop did not deliver what they had promised which sent us into a bit of a scramble. We called literally every shop w/in an hour radius and visited at least 5 in person to try and find a substitute set of bars. In the end, we had to overnight the desired set of handlebars from Excel Sports in Colorado. Then we had to take the bike to a different shop to have the cables rerouted and the bars swapped out. This cost our project time and money. The most frustrating part was it could have been avoided with a simple courtesy phone call from the shop. "Hi, looks like we can't sell you those bars after all. But hey, we could have another set shipped here for the build if you'd like." Something like that would have been nice and would have taken them approx 5 minutes. I picked up the bikes and voiced my disappointment. It was very much a "yeah, whatever, good luck" type of scenario complete with employee eye-rolls. I have since emailed the shops owner and called the shop several times requesting to speak with the owner. He has never bothered to respond to my email or call me back. That was back in February. Not exactly the "busy season" for bike shops. Even in AZ. If this is how an industry peer is treated, it makes me wonder how this shop treats the general consumer. We had money to spend with this but apparently they didn't want it and couldn't be bothered to act like professionals during my interactions with them or after. read more

Read the reviews ahead of time expecting crappy customer service. Went it looking for a not super cheap but not expensive street bike to ride around ASU. The guys here were super honest that they weren't the place for what I was looking for and directed us to another bike store that has cheaper bikes that I wouldn't mind as much if it got stolen (since bikes on campus get stolen often.). This place is for road racers and serious bikers. Bikes on display downstairs are $13,000. Everyone was super nice and helpful and when I addressed them first when walking in they were quick to acknowledge and asked if I needed help finding what I was looking for. Would recommend this place to any street racer looking for all the gear they need to race. read more

Love the bike shop. High end bikes, good inventory etc. It's just the snobby, don't care attitude they have towards customers which bothers me. They don't recognize you when you arrive, they are slow to help and it always seems like you're bothering them. I bought a high end Specialized from them and it seems like they would ask me how I like the bike, where have i ridden, do you want to join us on a shop ride etc. but they treat you like a foreigner everytime. So, going forward I'm going to spend my time and money over at MMC in Fountain Hills. While they are farther they don't have an elitist (I'm a pro...) attitude. I've had two negative experiences the last two times I've tried to give this place a chance. I would give this place half a star if I could. I'll detail my experiences here: 1. I went in during a slow evening and asked where to find a front/back light combo from Night Rider and the only response I was given was "over there" as he pointed in a vague general direction. What kind of customer service is that? 2. I called in to get a quote on a price for updating the software on my electronic shifting on a Specialized Tarmac and was given the price of $45. When I went in to the shop without announcing that I was the one who had called- the mechanic tried to charge me $55. Clearly, these mechanics profile people that don't look like avid cyclists and try and rip them off. With that said, I'll happily drive the extra mile to RAGE BICYCLE any day now. Whenever I go in there, several people ask what I'm looking for, are friendly and helpful, and even just shoot the breeze and talk about bike stuff. Just because a shop deals with high end bikes doesn't mean they can turn their nose up at people. I hope they figure it out eventually. read more

The middle-aged man that just sits behind the computer may be the most arrogant store worker I have ever come across. Not only did they have horrible customer service, but they charged me $20 more than the listed price on a helmet I bought because they said they "mispriced" it... Walked into this store on a Saturday morning to look at some mountain bikes. I browsed for a few minutes then didn't find the brand I was interested in (Trek). After that I stopped by the smoothie place next door to grab a smoothie to-go but one of the bike store employees followed me and was extremely confrontational and in my face demanding to move my car because I did not purchase a bike. Absolutely unprofessional, rude, and no way to treat people, let alone potential customers. Everyone that witnessed the interaction at the smoothie store said that he was completely out of line. Shoddy work and the customer is never right. I went in to get Dura Ace polymer cabling installed. They did the work and threw away the sleeve that keeps the cable from rubbing the carbon fiber frame where the front derailleur cable exits the frame (as pictured) due to the very minimal chance that the cable would create friction with the sleeve or sheath. When I returned to question about the cable cutting into the frame, they were adamant that it was right. Cable cutting into the frame is right?!?! I went to Stevebay on Facebook and all agreed this was not right. I'd rather risk a very negligible amount of friction versus damage to my carbon frame. The way they approach telling you you are wrong is not the way a customer should be treated. They gang up on you and eventually have two or three people telling you that you don't know what you're talking about. I'll give them some credit as they do this all day, everyday, but not once did I hear, "this is not how we do it, but since you want it this way, we will do it." The best part is when the short Oompa Loompa came out with product to prove that I was wrong. Maybe the cable cutting into the frame is their preference over mine, but I still think it's wrong among other things like not accommodating the customer and doing it with an arrogant display. I will no longer drive a long distance and think that just because I'm going to a Pinarello dealer that I'm going to have things done right on a Pinarello bike. Oh yeah, I haven't even mentioned the terrible handlebar wrap job and the incompetence in cable management. An update: upon taking my bike to another bike shop, the chain that Bicycle Haus installed was too loose. Just another problem that was found with their work. In town for a short visit. Stopped in to check out the shop and see what they had. I was very impressed with the knowledge of the staff and the quality of the bikes that they carry. I live in Boulder, Co and have been to a few nice shops in the past. This shop is top notch. The shop has it going on. They have a Retul fit system upstairs which tells me they certainly know how to fit there clients properly. Amazing shop with some beautiful toys! The new shop looks like the lobby of the Four Seasons. This is not my regular bike store. I had a problem that another bike shop could not fix so they suggested Bicycle Haus and I gave it a try. Craig called with updates as they went through everything and they were able to isolate the problem and also suggest a change that really improved the shifting and overall ride experience.
