Cycling newbie here! I came to Bicycle Ranch on Oracle to be fit for a bike through Uphill Into the Wind to ride in my first El Tour, charity ride, and had an absolutely awesome first-timer experience! I figured I would also pick up a helmet and shorts while there, but ended up getting so much more thanks to Steven, who went above and beyond! He took the time to properly fit me for my very first bike and walked me through everything I needed to know -- from how to ride more efficiently, to ways to practice, how the gears and tires worked, and even how to clip in (which felt intimidating at first, but he made it approachable and easy to understand). His knowledge and patience really made me feel confident and excited to start riding! He helped me find the perfect helmet and guided me through the uncharted territory of buying cycling shorts - the shop has a great selection of both (and literally every other thing you might need to ride). They also have a nice selection of nutrition and he gave me tips on how to fuel for race day which was super appreciated. Everyone who came through the door was greeted and all seemed to know each other which was a great sign of a strong community. The prices are a bit higher than what I'd seen on Amazon, but the products were far superior in quality and so in my opinion, totally justified. One customer I chatted with mentioned that when you shop there, the service is better than anywhere else, and so based on my experience you get what you pay for so the investment is well worth it. I had a wheel out of alignment on my bike. I called one place and they wanted pictures and kept me waiting till they told me they can't fix it. They recommended another place by Tucson airport, they did not answer their phone and requested text for fast response. I sent pictures etc, never got a response. I then found Bicycle Ranch looking on my maps app, called them, they picked up and told me to bring the bike right in. They worked on it while I waited a short time and repaired the issue. When I asked what I owed they said no charge. I gave them a tip and they now have a new delighted customer. This kind of service you rarely see any more so I wanted to let folks know. read more

This store has a mechanic who is EXCELLENT. I had a worn out bottom bracket on my Giant FastRoad AR2 (the best fitness/hybrid bike around). Their mechanic Mike L found compatible Shimano parts (FC-U6000-2 Crankset 175mm 46-30t - note double ChainRing and Bottom Bracket MT501). That change along with a new chain made the bike better than new. All this component upgrade was performed well and at a very reasonable cost. When my road bike with HED wheels got a flat that I couldn't fix because the rim tape needed replacing, Tyler and the Head Mechanic came to the rescue. Their assistance was invaluable, especially considering the challenging nature of the HED wheels with difficult-to-set tires. read more

I was looking for bike rentals. They do not offer these, but they kindly went to the computer and looked up two local shops: one for road bikes and one for mountain bikes. I freakin LOVE me some Bicycle Ranch! I would put it all over my pizza if I could! But seriously, I almost moved to Tucson just so I could make this my local shop. Im the kind of cyclist who rides a ton but doesnt know how to fix a flat or wash my bike, and these guys have always been awesome. For whatever reason, its hard to find sales staff who know what they're talking about and service crew who know how to actually fix things, but Bicycle Ranch nails it every time. I just want to do a huge shout out to the Bicycle Ranch on Ina and Oracle and a special shout out to Steve for being so kind to me!! I have a Sun Trike from 2012 and my wheels were bent from a previous move. Bicycle Ranch had been recommended on the Neighborhood app. So I took my trike there. They thought and I that all we needed were new wheels but it turned out that the "hub" was different from the wheels. Bicycle Ranch made calls to Sun Company and Ajo Bicycle and found the most economic solution was to rewire each spoke to fit the hub. Needless to say this was a tedious job that took time and they completed it and my bike is now working beautifully. They didn't give up. They went above and beyond. I highly recommend Bicycle Ranch for all of your bicycle needs! They truly care! read more

Wow.....a real LBS! How rare is that. These folks ride bikes, race bikes and WRENCH on bikes. No fixie inspired hipster sketch....no triathlete visors and no sterile corporate retail concepts. If you need work performed on your pedal bike (you know a real bike...one without a battery), come here. OV Bikes are to inconsistent because there tech game varies by location! Prior reviews lament the lack of brand variety. Fair observation. But most bikes are built on frames coming from one of two Taiwanese sweatshops. So the name on the down tube is meaningless. Tha being said being I have been a CAAD fan boy for the last 30 years. Clean well equipped shop, decent selection of kit and accessories, and mechs who know the eccentricities Italian grupos. Put them in your contact list. They're not posers. They're cyclists! And I seem to remember seeing the European Cyclecross championships on the big-screen. So if you get it...baller. I went to get mike bike repaired because I needed a crank replaced. It took about a week because it took time to get the part. My problem is that after the crank was repaired the gears were not tuned up. Hence, not all the gears work. Also I asked that the front brakes be repaired as the brake pads needed replacement. The brake pads were not replaced. The brakes from reading are fairly common. I went online and found them in a couple of minutes. Since I didn't buy my bike here and i don't think I received the service that I should have been given. Oh well, I guess they only cater to those who buy bikes from them. I will go elsewhere in the future. read more

I went in today for a headset bolt that had been accidentally stripped with an old Allen tool and guy behind the counter gave me a full attitude and couldn't believe I was foolish enough to strip the bolt head. Very disappointed in their bike repair services. I had to bring my bike in twice for the same issue because they did not fix it the first time. The repair tech was argumentative and unhelpful. He charged me twice to fix his mistake! I had a similar problem with this shop last year as well but decided to give them a second chance. Big mistake! I will not be back. There are too many great bike shops in town to deal with this poor of service. read more

Poor service. Went in for a warranty issue on my rear hub. Ended up finding one, but gave it to someone else? I was left trying to repair the bike with parts I found on craigslist. Then, my dropper post went out and I asked them to re-cable it. They did not re-cable the dropper post with a new cable and new housing, they gave it back to me in virtually the same condition I left it. They did put a new endcap on the cabling near the remote lever. Very disappointed. read more

I purchased a couple of foldable bikes from the Bicycle Ranch a few weeks back. The staff is pleasant enough and they did work with me on the price which was great. However when I got home I discovered one of the bags for one of the bikes was damaged. I contacted them a few times concerning this and they said the "had a call" into the manufacturer but I felt like I was really being brushed off. It's been a few weeks later and I have heard nothing from them and can't help but feel that my initial assessment was correct. My gal have been riding our bikes around town and get many inquiries where we got them etc. I have hesitantly giving up the info about Bicycle Ranch but I also make sure to include another shop in town with the exact same bikes and also other shops with foldable bikes. Had this been a completely satisfying experience I would have only mentioned BR. Sometimes it's the small things that count the most. read more

I noticed a broken spoke on my rear wheel as we were packing up to head out of town for a race. We called ahead to see if they could fix this quickly and were told to stop by. Even though the shop was busy, the wheel was fixed in 20 minutes! Awesome service!!!! read more
