The rental includes a helmet and bike lock. I'm more comfortable riding a tricycle at home for running errands, but Laurence was very patient as I became re-accustomed to riding a two-wheeler, helping me find a bike that was the right size for me, adjusting the seat and handle bars, and walking me through how to charge the bike and use the electric throttle. The electric motor was very helpful as I rode around Itacha's steep hills. All in all, the rental process was easy and the bike was fantastic!

Though I've only tested the rental bikes (including electric!) I haven't needed to rent one as I have my own--but such a great option for people visiting town, especially now with the Cayuga Waterfront Trail and other bicycle infrastructure that make conditions here better. People are newer to biking, especially those with kids, surely appreciate these improvements. When I have had one of my two bicycles serviced there (numerous times by now) the turnover time is quick and the prices are reasonable. Old Goat Gear Exchange is a quaint shop right off the commons that sells new and used bikes and all the outdoor gear you could ever need! They also sell used items (for great deals) on consignment. Steve gets to know his customers, and when I walk in, he greets me by name with a smile on his face. Quarantine got you down? Old Goat still has bikes, despite the nationwide shortage. I've never felt more welcome at a local bike shop than at Old Goat Gear Exchange and will continue to bring my bikes in for service. I will likely purchase some other doodads to support a great resource in our community.
