inside of Combination Egg Foo Young ...quite dense & hard, as if flour was added .. unseasoned

New to Hutto and desired chinese. Quick search led me to Bien Hoa. Call in order process was effortless, lady was pleasant and order was ready in 15 minutes. Should have known something was wrong once arrived to an empty dining room and exposed clutter (...racks and racks of inventory, containers, etc). Interior doesn't really look clean, but maybe just a dated building. I don't know... Arrived home with hot freshly made food. Smelled good. Jumped into the Combination Egg Foo Young ...looks can be deceiving ...was dense & hard. Never seen EFY like this. Resembled large puffed hockey pucks. Inside was starchy and unseasoned. Fresh, yes. Flavorful, no. The Salt & Pepper Shrimp was pretty good. Flavorful, fresh and nicely seasoned. Unfortunately not good enough for me to return.

Came here for the first time with my wife. We ordered the pork spring rolls for appetizers, Mongolian beef, and Szechuan chicken. Both entrees were very flavorful, but it was pretty rich or strong tasting if you know what I mean by that. Pretty oily. You definitely need rice to balance it out otherwise you'll feel grossed out after smashing these dishes. The spring rolls were delicious as well. We also ordered the Vietnamese coffee which was made perfectly. Overall, kind of expensive for a decent portion. There are a lot of tables. Staff ate friendly and fast. The lady comes off a bit loud and rude, but she is not. Lots of parking available.

Very authentic Vietnamese food a gem in Hutto. I wasn't expecting a good classic Vietnamese restaurant in the middle of hutto but it's a very good well operated full flavored restaurant. Is it authentic? Yes. What I really like, is how the soups are not overly oily like other restaurants so this tells me that the broth is cleaner, and doesn't have too much fat, which I really appreciate. In fact, I order to go on purpose so that I can refrigerate the broth and scoop out the fat when it hardens, but I didn't have to this time. The crispy noodles are definitely crispy and it's fun to eat, mixed in with the dark soy sauce and the crunch of the fresh vegetables. The beef also taste, fresh and mixed together, it's a nice dish. The vermicelli bowl to go is another authentic example of my countries. Food, the noodles were bouncy and fresh, and was happy to taste the freshness of the beef, because it reminded me of the same freshness from the crispy noodles. When mixed together the noodles, the beef, the crushed peanuts with the sliced Vegetables, and you have to pour the sauce that comes with it, great fresh dish. I don't think I need to go into a detailed description of the beef noodle bowl because most people have had it already but I've been eating beef pho bowls for 37 years so this one, has to the the top 5 I've had in Austin. When comparing the amount of beef you get, to the flavors of the broth, and compared with the price, it's a very good strong flavored beef broth that doesn't taste like it came from a packet or jar, it does taste more home made. And lastly, the seafood pho bowl, it came with a separate chicken style broth, in the Vietnamese culture, you can't mix pho broth to a seafood broth but seafood broths come with not seafood but a chicken broth but comes with seafood ingredients. Very good broth not too salty which I like but when mixed with the seafood, it's a hearty dish, like American chicken noodle but Vietnamese seafood noodle just more elevated and with better ingredients.

Brief history: If you have been in Austin long enough, you've heard of Seadragon and their beef potato dish. Their closing was devastating because you can't find this dish (and their canh chua nha trang) anywhere. Fast foward, I was told a few days ago this dish is available at Bien Hoa. I just about ran there but Google map told me it's too far from my house, I couldn't go on a weekday after work. I did read Google reviews because I haven't heard of this place. There were numerous reviews of not so great service/servers. Regardless, they have this dish so I'm still going to try it. Well, here I am. I'd say it's 90% close to the original. The potatoes could be more sauteed/crisp on the outside and a little less sugar. I'm not exactly complaining because I can't get this anywhere, I'll accept what I can get! For the service part, there was one server, she was doing her best. Yes, she can sound like she's yelling when she talks, she has a loud voice in my opinion. I had several requests and she did manage to complete them. Tip: I know it's Vietnamese Chinese cuisine, but order the Vietnamese food

Their pho is ok. Their fried rice is not good. I would only eat pho here. Only pho. Nothing else

Came here with regular customers who ordered everything. And I can definitely say every single dish was absolutely delicious. This is genuinely one of the best vietnamese restaurant I've had since moving here. We ordered the fried frog legs, pan fried noodles, salt and pepper fried squid, salt and pepper wings, and the steak with potato. Every fried dish was cooked perfectly with a light, crispy breading and sautéed in flavorful sauces. If you were to ask me which dish was my favorite, I wouldn't be able to tell you because I loved them all! I also got their passion fruit drink which was also really delicious and refreshing. If you're looking for a vietnamese restaurant in Hutto, I highly recommend to stop by here because it WILL NOT disappoint!

    Orange Chicken lunch special
    Robert R.

My wife and I recently moved to Hutto, TX and were looking for a lunch spot. We came across this place in a strip mall near City Hall and thought to give it a try. My wife orders the Pho' and I had the Orange Chicken lunch special. I was offered a taste of the broth, really good. My wife enjoyed it and from what I could see, was plentiful. Mine, the chicken was really nice cuts of breast and well seasoned. It had a nice little spice to it. I failed to mention that the egg drop soup was very good too. I'm not a big fan of fried egg roles and stayed away from it until the end. After a little while I gave in and cracked it open, nice and tasty but even better to sop up the remaining sauce. Looks like we found a good place for Pho', and I'll be back to try a few of the specials. A note, I read some of the comments posted that the place had dirty floors. When we got there the lunch crowd had already left. There was a pile of dishes and lots of cleanup to do. That didn't take away from a great meal and very good and friendly service.

    Front of the store

Just ate here for the second time with my wife, and we ate 4 bowls of the egg drop soup along with some pho. We love this this place and it's our new favorite spot in town ! It's a must try amazing prices and large portions will leave you full and happy :)

Worse Asian food I ever had. They don't serve fried rice as their menu says. Don't recommend going to spend your money there!

Good local Chinese restaurant with fresh ingredients, good flavors, overall great Chinese…read morerestaurant. The lo mein combo noodles had a good solid soy sauce flavor, soft noodles, good amount of meats, sold noodles. Mongolian beef is amazing, soft beef with creamy, salty, and tangy brown sauce. The fresh white onions help cut through the salty soy sauce flavor of the brown sauce. Orange chicken is awesome, big big chunks of white chicken meat, very little batter on the outside with a strong orange flavor. I appreciate this dish since it's more meat than batter. The last dish, shrimp with pork dish with sliced green peas. It tasted like it had a turmeric sauce. Nice firm shrimp with pork.

Meh. Disappointing…read more I picked up takeout from this restaurant and ordered the Kung Pao chicken and a chicken egg roll. The Kung Pao chicken was bland and lacked the flavor I was expecting--there was no discernible garlic, ginger, or other aromatics, and the sauce didn't have much depth. There weren't a lot of peanuts, and no vegetables, either. Unfortunately, my first bite of chicken also had some chewy, unpleasant bits, which didn't help. The egg roll shell was crispy but not a light batter, the interior was a bit doughy and lacked the texture I was hoping for. All in all, it was just okay. I really wanted to like this new restaurant, but based on this meal, it was disappointing.

Well, if 0 stars existed, this would be the place. Looking for late night delivery via Uber Eats,…read morewe grabbed some fried rice, crab rangoons, and veggie egg rolls. I'll start with the positives: Fried rice: 2/10. Dry, old ass chicken, no flavor. 2 is generous. Egg rolls: 1/10. Dry. I've had better from the HEB freezer. Mush on the inside. Basically ashes on the outside. Threw away after one bite each. The negatives: Crab rangoons: 2 of us vomited within 5 minutes of eating them. We didn't think to check our freshly delivered food for... freshness... because wtf? The sauce was absolutely RANCID! Whatever was in the 'crab' rangoons was most definitely not crab, and 100% NOT fresh. I haven't thrown up in about 3-4 years, since a bad incident with a McDonald's filet of fish. The worst part is that I paid over $40 to dump a bunch of rotten, dry, old, rancid food in the garbage. Order from this sh*t hole at your own risk. (I rarely use language but that should tell you how strongly I advise EVERYONE to stay away from this godforsaken place) ETA: it was $52 for the above and another family member has now thrown up. We're ALL chugging pepto at 2am. This place needs to be investigated immediately. Apparently it's the ghost kitchen out of Bamboo Bistro that's notorious for roaches, how in the hell are they still allowed to be open?? Order at your own risk.. but yeah, don't do it.
