Ordered Kung Pao Chicken lunch. The meal was piping hot and I was super excited until I bit into the chicken. The sauce was sour. With each bite, I just got more and more disappointed. It looked so good! But the taste wasn't for me. The spring roll was crispy on the outside and mush when I bit into it. No flavor, no color to determine what ingredients were in side. The wonton soup was mediocre. Weird after taste. The owner was nice. The setup was a pickup establishment. I'll try it one more time and update my opinion. read more

Ordered from this place late at night since no other place was open. Had the sweet and sour chicken, shrimp tempura, and the lo mein. I would say the sweet and sour chicken does have a good crunch to it if you eat it in time, but a lot of it is batter. The shrimp tempura was just okay. The lo mein was my least favorite of the three and I'd be fine if I didn't order it again. The good thing is that the portion are pretty big so that's a plus. Overall, this was not really a memorable experience but is a good option late at night if there isn't any other Chinese restaurant open. read more

I would recommend staying away from the non-Chinese items. I've had bad luck with Thai and Vietnamese food. Most recently I got some bad Pho meat and even the fresh ginger item which is pretty decent, was crowded with huge pieces of over matured broccoli. read more

It was also swimming in a super bland "soup" of strange brown sauce that tasted like thick sugar water with a weird combo of broccoli and undercooked green beans combined with frozen food service bulk carrots and celery. Practically flavorless. Just strange. If you're watching your sodium intake, you might like this as it had zero salt. The fried rice isn't fried rice. It's steamed or cooked rice with some sort of yellow element added and nothing else. Seems like a RICE restaurant would be able to manage a signature dish, but ‍. Egg drop soup? Meh. Egg roll? Meh. And no fortune cookies? Come on. Really? How are you a Chinese restaurant in America without proper fried rice and fortune cookies? First time trying this place, had been seeing them pop up on UberEats after their closing time and finally decided to call to confirm and yes they really are open til 4am. Called in my order, we had combo fried rice, chicken fried rice, sesame chicken and cream cheese puffs. The only reason I couldn't give the full 5 stars is because I'd requested no veggies in the fried rice and fried rice instead of steamed with the sesame chicken but they got that wrong..no big deal but little things matter. Portions were big..big enough to sneak some fried rice from each and not be missing any food lol. Will def return and glad to know that they are open late. Just ordered $100 worth of "food" from this place via Uber, and this is without a doubt the most disappointed I've ever been with Chinese food in Texas. Absolutely awful, and in EVERY way. We ordered so much food they surely would get something right? Nope. The "Egg Drop Soup" taste like old bath water, and adding in soy sauce didn't help much. It was an ALARMING taste, like I was eating something that would clearly be bad for me. The "egg rolls" are tiny, about as long as a roll of dollar bills. They're mushy to bite into, and the filling was gross. My reaction was: what did they PUT in these? The "steamed dumplings" were mushed together, and had that same effect as the "egg rolls," you're wondering what the heck was in that filling. The "fried rice" was like abnormally dry white rice that was turned yellow, that's right, YELLOW, with zero veggies or flavor. No scallions, no pea, and clearly didn't even use soy sauce to flavor this stuff. Panda Express rice is better than this. "General Tso's Chicken" was watery and barely edible. We had two different noodle dishes, "lo-mein" and also the "fried udon" and both had no flavor whatsoever. Even the "Chinese donuts" added to the order taste like a hard ball of dough, just bland as bland can be. They even just dumped the sugar in one pile in the box so we had to sugar them ourselves, and I ate one and gave up. So not worth the calories. And for this experience they're charging top dollar. If all other Chinese restaurants disappeared overnight, I still wouldn't order from this place ever again. If you ignore this review and try them anyway I understand, after all some other people seem to like it. This is a really interesting place because they have Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai cuisine which all seems pretty random to me. I ordered the Bun with grilled pork and egg roll as well as the curry rice with shrimp. The food was interesting... the Bun was overpowered with peanut flavor and doesn't taste like how it normally should at all. The pork marinade was very strong in that peanut flavor and soaked into the noodles. I think this bun has more of a Chinese influence as the egg roll wasn't a Vietnamese recipe. I don't mind but not what I expect when ordering a Vietnamese dish. The curry rice was spicy but missing the curry flavor! I can see it all over the rice but cannot taste it at all which was very disappointing. If I were to order from here again, I think I would stick with the Chinese dishes instead of ordering from other cuisines. 2 stars. read more

We love Rice2Go. We've had the vermicelli bowls, rice plates and pho. The pork vermicelli bowl is our favorite, it's so good. And the pho is good quality and authentic. They used to be good, but we placed an order that showed up almost an hour late. When I called to inquire about it, the lady asked me to hold, put the phone down and forgot about it. When I drove to the restaurant to ask about the order, the lady behind the counter literally ignored me standing there for 6 minutes. When she finally did acknowledge me, they had no idea where the order was. Finally, a driver dropped it off. My go-to Vietnamese restaurant, none other than Rice2Go! Every time I've come here I've had nothing short of a wonderful experience. Ms. Eli, the owner, is the sweetest person and welcomes me, my daughter, & boyfriend into her restaurant as if we are in her living room. That's what's up! I like the city of Round Rock, TX because I know that as a newbie in town, I have someone like Ms. Eli to visit, fellowship and build memories with. The chefs and staff are all awesome. The food is outstanding and it's the last thing I'm mentioning in my review because all of the other things above mean more to me than just a good meal. The family has dropped in for to-go orders plenty-o-times ever since they first opened their doors. Usual to-go orders include: *Vietnamese rice plate Grilled pork or lemongrass chicken served w/egg, tomato, cucumber over rice and a side of fish sauce *Any pho Rice noodle soup w/onions plus a choice of protein served w/bean sprouts, cilantro, basil, jalapeño, and lime wedge *Shakin' steak (bo luc lac) Marinated steak cubes w/onions served over lettuce + tomatoes w/a side of lemon dip sauce We've gotta remember to order other entrees but honestly when in a rush we pick these. The folks are friendly and there're a few seats available while waiting for the order. This area doesn't have much lunch/dinner competition/options which benefit R2G so far. The wife wanted soup, so I asked if she wanted to try pho, which I like. We both got the meatball pho, and a sweet and sour chicken entrée as backup. The pho was gross. It tasted like highly processed "meat" and star anise and nothing else. Even the hoison sauce, which was tasty and strong, was immediately overridden by star anise. If you've never identified star anise, it's usually the vaguely sweet/savory part of Chinese 5 spice. When overused, it tastes like strong licorice. In this pho, however, the star anise was so strong that neither myself nor my wife could eat it. The sweet and sour chicken was okay. Half-sized entree container with about 10 small pieces of chicken, and onion, green pepper, and pineapple that all had the consistency and flavor of plastic. We spent $40 on 2 dinner combos and what was supposed to be a kids chicken fried rice. We ended up with a full order, and I think it was because they didn't hear my order right. The glazed sesame chicken was very tasty but I was a little disappointed to see old broccoli in my bowl (yellow florets). My SO had bright green, fresh broccoli in his bowl but didn't like his Moo Goo Gai Pan. But that chicken fried rice was good! Thai red curry rivals Thai cuisine in Austin, which I consider the best in town. Dare I say it taste even better. Thai fired rice has a mild heat through the dish. Very tasty Vermicelli bowl was great, pork is super tasty. No I did not eat all these meals myself lol. But the packing material is very nice for take out. New small restaurant offering take out and delivery of some Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. They have some specialty dishes featuring Thai Red Curry That's the dish that caught my eye so I called for delivery. I must say that I was impressed with the freshness and quality of our food. The pork egg rolls were crispy, tasty and not greasy at all. My curry dish was delicious also. Not the best red curry I've had but the veggies were crisp and fresh and the pork was not over cooked at all. I've also tried the pho and it was just ok. The sprouts needed more cleaning and the brisket and steak were wayu too dry. Also they were skimpy on the sriracha and hoisen sauce. The broth was actually pretty good and for that reason alone I will definitely do the pho again just not with brisket and steak. They have daily lunch specials that come with soup and egg roll along with your choice of rice. Lunch specials are from 1100 to 3:30. They have two small high tops for dine-in., but, mostly meant for take out and delivery. Nice addition to the area. I'm not a fan of Chinese so am happy they have Pho, Bun and some Curry dishes. There is a $15 minimum delivery with a $3 delivery charge. The delivery charge is a disappointment as they are in the neighborhood. read more

The vegetables were mushy and covered in greasy tempura batter. There were all of 4 pieces of pineapple, a staple of the dish, in the container. I was in Round Rock dogsitting for my sister during the holidays while avoiding wearing pants even in the cold weather so my tattoo could heal, so naturally I decided I should order a bunch of food at once so I can hole myself up in the house while bingeing on some Netflix. Rice2Go popped up on my Yelp query so I thought what better option than to buy a bunch chinese takeout to eat. I ordered a vegetarian fried rice option, and I believe the Hot Garlic Tofu entree: Hot Garlic Tofu - Good flavor, decent size, I hate water chestnuts. I really should've asked for no water chestnuts. In theory, they sound delicious, crunchy and juicy, but in reality, they're quite abhorrent. Fried Rice (vegetarian) - tons of different veggies in this dish. The whole takeout Styrofoam container was LOADED with fried rice. If you love loads of fried rice, then this is the place for you. I even got white rice with my entree, so it was rice overload. These 2 dishes lasted me about 3.5 meals, and that's hard to do considering normally a single entree leaves me still hungry. Pretty solid options, some authentic, some Americanized, but great value overall. read more

Pros: Clean, fast, easy online ordering, close to home and great for a weeknight dinner take out, really nice people. Cons: Not extremely tasty food. It's passable, but the flavor is generally too salty or too Americanized. I really don't think you can call the pho dish pho...it's just rice noodles in some weak soup broth. Will keep getting food from here on those nights that we need Asian food in a pinch close to home. Between this and Hunan ranch, another just passable but more sit down Chinese restaurant, at least this one is slightly more affordable It has that great website that makes it easy to order. But really, if you want Chinese food in the area and have the energy, I think it's worth the drive to Hoho, Hunan bistro, or Xian. Or Paos if you really want to drive. I mean, nothing is going to be as good as Houston or Dallas, so set your expectations for Chinese food in Austin low. When we order from here, we usually get the zesty zucchini or fresh ginger. The Shaken Steak (Bo Luc Lac) is excellent. (But is a bit on the sweeter side.) It comes with a separate container for each item, beef, salad, and the rice. They also give you lemon, pepper with a lemon for dipping -- a sign they know how to serve this much-loved Vietnamese dish in the traditional style. The beef is cooked with a nice wok sear, dark brown in color, but not over cooked. Take it to go, the dining are is only three small tables and the ambiance leaves much to be desired. The Thai Tea is extremely strong and needs to be watered down a bit. I asked for some extra milk too. read more
