Despite her age, symptoms, and abnormal lab results, the ER Doctor John Lin insisted on discharging her. When I requested that she be transferred to Kaiser Downey for further evaluation, I first spoke with the charge nurse. Shortly afterward, the doctor John Lin came in and again stated that my mother would be discharged. Rather than showing concern for her condition, he questioned whether she had received a COVID vaccine and appeared to attribute her symptoms to that instead of recognizing how ill she was. Throughout the encounter, the physician came across as rude, impatient, dismissive, and lacking compassion. My mother was clearly weak, could not walk on her own, and was in no condition to be sent home. I was shocked by the lack of empathy and concern for an elderly patient. We took my mother to Kaiser Downey Hospital, where the difference in care was immediate. The medical team promptly evaluated her, recognized the seriousness of her condition, and admitted her to the hospital for treatment based on her symptoms and low sodium level. No family should have to fight for appropriate medical care for a vulnerable loved one. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this emergency department specifically Dr John Lin. I sincerely hope the hospital addresses the quality of care and patient-centered communication provided in the emergency room so that other patients and families do not experience the horrific experience what we did.

We arrived at 5 a.m. for his outpatient surgery, and from the moment we walked in they checked us in right away, took us to the room, and started preparing my son. He was very scared, but every single RN, anesthesiologist, and doctor was incredibly kind. They took the time to talk to both of us, explain the process, comfort him, and even held his hand to help him feel safe. The recovery took about an hour and 30 minutes, and during that whole time the staff kept checking on us and asking if we needed anything. It really meant a lot to see how much they cared. I'm truly grateful for the compassion, patience, and professionalism everyone showed that morning. Thank you to all of you who were there and took such good care of my son. It made a very scary day much easier for our family. 3/52026 thank you again

I was the only person in the waiting area, but the receptionist wouldn't finish processing me until my doctor contacted her with some number she needed for sending him the x-ray results. After waiting an hour I finally left because I didn't know if or when the doctor's office would ever call her back. The reason for the one star: the receptionist in the x-ray waiting room was coughing and not wearing a mask. Sure enough, I woke up the next morning with a dry cough and have been coughing all weekend. You would think that a hospital employee would know to wear a mask if she is sick.

Was brought here by a friend immediately on Friday night and had surgery Saturday morning to get a titanium rod and screws. The nursing staff was excellent, and my surgeon Dr. Shah was super cool and did a phenomenal job. From Friday to Monday, they did everything possible to keep me comfortable. TBH I'm shocked this place only has 3 stars... it's a great hospital with an even better staff. And yes they have a reputation for food and it's actually pretty good, however it's a bit bland for patients, way better as a visitor. Anyways, highly recommend them. Will not return LOL

During my delivery, Dr. Edward Merchant allowed my due date to lapse significantly. On the day of delivery, I was ignored for hours following the departure of the head nurse. Despite my deteriorating condition, Dr. Merchant refused to intervene and went to sleep in the physician's rest area. A code was eventually called when my blood pressure dropped dangerously low. My previous physician, who was on call, had to intervene to perform a crash emergency C-section. Furthermore, Dr. Merchant falsified my medical records by documenting the event as a "normal uneventful delivery." It was an emergency crash C-section as confirmed by the nurses to me the following day. In a subsequent emergency room visit for a severe allergic reaction, I was dismissed by the triage nurse, Maryann Magdaleno, RN, and sent back to a filthy, crowded waiting room for hours. I eventually went home and was called back at 3:00 AM, at which point my blood pressure was 60/0. While my chart indicates I was seen by a Dr. Stinnett, I never saw a physician during that visit. Despite reporting these incidents to the appropriate oversight agencies and the BRN, I have not received a satisfactory resolution. The hospital has continued to stonewall requests for information regarding staffing schedules and this particular nurse on call that night. I am formally expressing my concerns regarding the unethical and unprofessional conduct I recently experienced from Huntington Hospital medical staff. This behavior compromised my safety and fell well below the expected medical standards for their scope of practice. It is essential that the personnel involved are held accountable for these actions to ensure that future patients do not encounter the same lack of care and professionalism. I trust that you will take the necessary steps to address this matter. These experiences were devastating, and I cannot recommend Huntington Hospital to anyone seeking safe or professional medical care.

I am submitting this complaint regarding my GI imaging appointment scheduled for July 14 at 10:00…read moreAM. When I called to schedule my appointment approximately one week in advance, I specifically asked where I needed to go. I was only told to go to the "west side" or "west building" of the hospital. I also asked for the room number, but one was not provided. I was not given a department name, floor, direct phone number, or any other location details. I also did not receive any appointment confirmation by email, text message, or phone call with instructions for my visit. On the day of my appointment, I arrived on time and went to the front desk. I showed them the information I had been given, and they directed me to the outpatient department. After going there, I was told I was in the wrong building. I then called the hospital operator for assistance. I explained that I was trying to find my GI imaging appointment and that I had only been told to go to the west side of the hospital. Instead of helping me locate the correct department, I was told to ask registration, and hung up on me before my issue was resolved. When I finally reached the appropriate department, I was asked for my referral paperwork. I had never been told that I needed to bring it, and because I never received any appointment confirmation or instructions, I had no way of knowing it was required. I was also informed that the ultrasound department's system was down. However, my appointment had been scheduled about a week in advance. Since I did not receive any confirmation or instructions before my appointment, I believe patients should be provided with the necessary information before the day of their visit, even if technical issues arise. I rarely visit this hospital, so I was relying on the directions and instructions provided to me. I made every reasonable effort to find the correct location by asking for directions when scheduling, arriving on time, asking the front desk for help, and calling the hospital operator. Despite those efforts, I was unable to reach the correct department, and my appointment was ultimately canceled.

My grandma is 97 years old, bedridden, and completely dependent on other people to care for her. I had to ask for pillows and blankets so I could rotate her myself, and I had to ask for a diaper to change her myself because they had no plan on doing it-- even though my grandma was laying there for almost 12hrs. Unfortunately we come to this hospital because it's close to home. I understand ERs get busy. But being busy doesn't mean basic care and empathy should disappear!! When I asked for help, I got looked at like they were annoyed or I was interrupting their social hour. When it comes to my grandma I don't play, so I was really disappointed.. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! And what really broke my heart is thinking about the patients who DON'T have family there to advocate for them. Imagine if I wasn't there for my grandma? Who would've changed her? Cleaned her? Made sure she was even comfortable? That's scary to think about. People come to the ER vulnerable, scared, sick, and needing compassion -- not attitude and neglect. The way some of these nurses acted was disgusting and disappointing.
