Came to spend a nice evening listening to live music (Scott Baker) on the patio and have some supper. They were super accommodating to my rather strict diet and the food was great. I had chicken, my son had a great burger. They let dogs on the patio so next time we will definitely bring our puppy! read more

The Bier Garten is definitely one of the best places in town. The pork nachos are fantastic, so this time I tried the Cole's pulled pork sandwich, fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings - all of which were delicious! Their regular fries are so much better than most places. I can't recommend this place enough. I also had a chance to meet one of the new owners - didn't catch her name, but very nice and friendly. Always great, friendly service here, plus great food keeps me coming back. If you haven't tried it, you won't be disappointed. It is well worth the drive. read more

By far the best restaurant bar in Bay City currently. Clean, and courteous staff with great local brews on tap. At least 10 taps. My wife claims the bloody Mary's are off the hook too! My husband and I just moved to Michigan. We wanted to give Bier Garten a try. I'm so happy we did!! Great beer selection, amazing, friendly service and yummy food! We started with the pickle fries- perfect. I had the cauliflower burger that came with the homemade chips. Very very good. My husband had the Dealers Choice with sweet potato fries. We both dug in and enjoyed. The outdoor patio was perfect. We'll be back again for more food and craft beer! read more

Burgers were good. Service was completely sub-par. We waited for over an hour for three burgers. When they arrived, a toothpick was found broken in the bun. We only knew it was there once it was being chewed. We then waited an additional 35 mins for out waitress to come over with the bill. Would not recommend to any friends or family. read more

Under new management, wife and i went here for dinner and drinks. The good: their beer menu is great, plenty of variety and it's always changing. The so so: i ordered the wet burrito, it was a chicken burrito but they made it with jerk chicken. I was hesitant to order because of this but our server said it was very popular so i though I'd give it a go, i wouldn't order it again. My wife ordered a burger, the dealer or something like that. She said it was good but nothing special for $11, you get homemade chips with your burger, French fries are extra, and are worth it...they are very good. As far as facilities, it's very clean and they have multiple TVs to take in sporting events. If we return it will be for drinks and appetizers. read more

I've frequented the Bier Garten a couple of times in the past few months. I was impressed not only with the service, but the food was phenomenal. Unfortunately, this evening did not meet my expectations. The Chicken Nachos were subpar. My Chicken Nachos are 100 times better and I use Frito Lay Cheese. Not to mention I HATE to cook. We were given no utensils or napkins and only one plate (maybe the rest of the plates were dirty). We were overcharged and had to bring this to the waiters attention. Worst of all the women's restroom needed major attention. I would like to blame it on not enough help but unfortunately I can't. One of the bartenders was busy holding hands and paying attention to her boyfriend maybe. The second bartender was having a hard time multitasking. The third bartender was trying to clean up after the other two. Total unorganization and not one of the bartenders seemed to care. Not a good look. This place was fantastic! After deliberating on several dining options, we decided to visit the Bier Garten. Walking in I was surprised at how light, clean, and airy the place was. This is more than your average corner bar to be sure. First the beers/drinks/wine. Excellent tap selection with about 8 high quality craft option on draft. I'm not a wine drinker per se, but they did have a good mix of low and higher end options to satisfy most tastes. Same with liquor. Now onto the food. I had the chicken Caesar wrap with chips. The wrap was good, very fresh tasting, but the chips were outstanding. Fresh cut and fried right before serving. They were still warm on the plate!!! Excellent and I'd definitely order again. We also had an order of fries and mozzarella stick. The fries were ok but the mozz sticks were very good. Perfect coating and melty cheese. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. We heard new owners took over a year ago so if you haven't been in a while, give it a try! Great local Bay City place and I will be back. read more

Big joke. When you think a place can't get any worse surprise! Place looks better, at least cleaned up some but the food that's another story. The menu is a joke, overpriced and terrible quality. Burgers are frozen, dry, chewy, and tasteless. They try to pass off burned potato scraps as French fries, unreal. They dropped all the big sellers from the past. If you want a burger you would be better off going to McDonald's, if you want a hot dog Mr Hot Dog is a better bite. Salads well Panera is a quarter mile away go get your salad and save $4 get a nicer and better salad then go get your overpriced beer at the garden, you'll be happier if you do. read more

Three of us decided to come to grab some drinks and an app to get out for the night. We got a couple Bell's Hopslam' s and cucumber mint martini. The service was amazing, they were friendly and fun and we loved our experience. Nicole was our server and she was awesome. Quick to help us and just great to talk to. Went here for the first time since their new management and the place looks much better! It's very clean and the bathrooms are kept tidy. Only weird thing is how many mirrors there were in the Womens bathroom. They no longer pay your tax but the price is fair especially for the quality of the food. I had the potato poppers and the chicken Caesar wrap, both of which were delicious! My servers name was Maddie, and she did did an excellent job! She said she has been with them since the beginning and they've only been open for a little over a year. The staff was fun and understanding, highly recommend! read more

I haven't been to this place in a while. I heard a rumor that either the management or the owners changed. It didn't change for the better. We used to come for the prime rib which was good for the cheap price, I think it was about $12-$13. Now the same dinner is $19. $19 is normal for a restaurant that does a good prime rib. This looked to be the same quality as before. Except it was worse. The prime rib we ordered medium rare. It was extremely cold on the inside. Which tells me their meats are frozen and they cook them that way, hoping the inside will cook correctly when it's done. They took it back and when it came out it was tough and chewy. The worst part of the evening was after we canceled the order, we could hear the ignorant young chef in the kitchen complaining and swearing about us and that we were wrong about the food. Totally unprofessional. We will not be going back and by the looks of that bar, I don't think a lot of people have been going back lately. read more

Very poor service. Had to finally ask for another beer and when the Barmaid/waitress brought it, it was clearly not what I had ordered previously. When I told her this she basically said that I was wrong and said she would "see what she could do". We were not asked how we wanted our burger cooked and when it arrived the inside was close to raw. She never asked how our food was, even though I didn't eat ANY of my burger. Very disappointing since we enjoyed this establishment previous to the new owners. Will not be back. read more
