Staying in Linville, and wanted to find something off the beaten path. This is it for sure. Tiny little town that you could blink and miss it. Came in on a Tuesday around noon. I was the only customer. Pros: dog friendly, the waitress with blonde hair was super friendly and accommodating (didn't catch her name), crispy well cooked french fries, they have a stage that I'd assume has music on nights or weekends. Cons: the only difference from the waitress between the special burger and regular burger is you can choose the tempature of your burger. I chose medium rare and it came out well done. Still decent regardless. Asked for no tomatoes (as you can see there are tomatoes). Overall, decent spot if you're in the area. read more

What a wonderful hidden gem!! You have to stop here if you're anywhere close. Amazing food, beer and service. We ordered 2 build your own pizzas with cauliflower crust and I HIGHLY recommend it. This is a very nice spot. Good location, plenty of space, good beer and great staff. We had 2 pizzas, a Buffalo chicken salad and a burger. Pizzas we decent personal size and made very well. Burger was made with very good quality beef. Salad was good portion size. Beer was well done and brewed on site. I'd highly recommend Bierdock Brewery for anyone that's in town and looking for a good place to eat. Oh, and the staff was phenomenal. Made every effort to make our visit great. Good server, manager came by and checked on us often. If you want to support a great small business, this place is doing it right. read more

Firstly, the atmosphere is very strange and didn't feel welcome the minute I walked in. Their beer sucks. I ended up getting the Wicked Weed. Their food is sub par as well. My co-worker and I opted to stop in for a drink after work one night and decided on this spot as it seems to be new. The bar is a wide open space with plenty of seating. We sat at the beautiful timber bar and looked over the beer menu. They have a bunch of different beer choices for every kind of beer drinker. I tried the porter and didn't look back. Decent spot with decent food. Wait staff seemed to be a bit timid. Space was open and seemed to be pretty new. The paint was fresh and the tables were in damaged and clean. It's a remodeled space in an old building, so it feels just a smidge awkward, but it wasn't too distracting. Burgers were standard -- nothing to write home about. Cooked as requested. Fries were large, dry, and a bit crunchy. My daughter said her wings were good. Son said the pizza was "pretty good." Beer selection was limited, but on par with other small and new establishments. Decent variety. No lagers brewed in-house, but at least one from another brewery. The dark ale was a pretty solid beer. The dubbel wasn't really a dubbel, though. It was a dubbel malt bill, fermented with a wizen yeast. Lots of banana and clove flavors and aroma. I was looking for plums, raisins, and other stone fruits with some phenols, spice from Belgian yeast, and a low alcohol warmth characteristic of a dubbel. I love that Spruce finally has a brewery! I also enjoy that they have a variety on taps. Not only their beer but others as well! I appreciate this as I like sours and they had one on by New Belgium last time I was there! I have tried the food too! Yummy bar food type things! I say give it a try if you like a cool venue.
