I've been drinking here for 7 years now and this place still hasn't lost its magic. It's truly a unique concept housed in a gigantic building with multiple areas to drink, eat, play, and more. Bierstadt is a lager only brewery. They only have a few beers on the menu! Of course there are variations like a Michelada, house cocktails, wines, NA options, etc. The difference between producing lagers and ales is MASSIVE, and I tip my cap to everyone involved in crafting beers that have put Denver on the map. The Slow Pour Pils is one of three beers that I would consider the unofficial beer of Denver. It takes five minutes to pour, is served in a custom made glass (really cool story behind this), and has the perfect floating foam (like a cloud) sitting perfectly atop the beer. I crushed two of their Italian Pilsners yesterday. This is simply a fantastic beer. The Helles and Dunkel surely are not to be missed. But do one thing, get their Oktoberfest when it comes out (usually around mid September). It's one of the best I've ever had. There's a lot of stories inside this building. The legendary pieces of equipment, the unique brewing methods, the different spaces to hang out, etc. There's a reason Bierstadt has been tapped as the brewery "where the brewers go." To me, they can never receive a higher compliment. I'm really glad they're still kicking after celebrating their 10th anniversary. Almost a teenager!!! It's always fun visiting this place. This is a Denver must when it comes to breweries. You might not summit a 14er at this particular Bierstadt, but you'll find some of the best traditionally brewed beers in the country. read more

This brewery might make parking in rino worth it! My husband and I walked by and stopped in after hearing the live emo music from the street. So glad that we did! Loved listening to the bands, and exploring the huge space. They have olllllld school pinball game, giant jenga, gigantic cornhole, trash can sized beer pong, and ladder ball (normal size). They also have an original Nintendo with Mario. Seating a little tricky, be careful sitting on the benches, they move in odd ways. But loved the tables and chairs upstairs with the perfect view of the stage! Service was my only complaint- I think the first guy at the bar was having a hard time because they were so busy. I waited at the bar for a while without being acknowledged, then by the time he did finally notice me he just held up a finger. Finally a chick came over and took my order, but it took a while. She was perfectly nice, however, and it wouldn't stop me from returning or recommending them. Came here for a themed night out recently on a Friday night. I haven't been to the space in a few years and it seems smaller on the inside than I remembered. They had a section with some large games like beer, pong and cornhole as well as a separate side that had a stage. The upstairs location had some tables and a ton of plants. You could overlook everything from the upstairs. The night was fun, but the place seemed dead for the most part. Kind of surprising for a nice weekend night. There is also a loud rowdy group that was kind of monopolizing all of the large games so we didn't get a chance to play those. Beer was decent although they do add a 20% charge. Massive space and they have some large-sized games (like giant cornhole), so for those reasons it's great for groups! It's like you're inside a warehouse. They also will have performers and special events going on that you'd have to check their schedule to learn more. I believe they had a live small band there once, as well. They have big glasses of beer but also other drink options/full bar so you are definitely not limited to beer. And duing nice weather, they open the outdoor patio. read more

Bierstadt Lagerhaus is a really cool brewery located in the bustling RiNo neighborhood. I'm normally not a really big beer guy, but if my friends want to go to Bierstadt, I normally oblige happily. There is a good amount of seating outside and there are two stories inside with plenty of standing space. Even if it's super busy, it never feels super packed in there which is nice. They also have a few bars in there so there never seems to be a super long line at any of them. A cool thing about Bierstadt is that they often have events going on there whether it's live music, wrestling shows (the WWE kind), and a lot of other stuff. Make sure to check out their calendar. QR codes on the table so you don't even need to leave your seat- they will bring your order to you! You can also order/sit at the bar areas in there as well though. We reserved a space for work for a happy hour on a Thursday for 15 people starting at 4. Our reserved section was the tables near the games on the 1st floor in the large shipping containers, it worked great! It was super easy to start a tab with one card, and they were accommodating to use the drink tickets we provided to keep track of everyone's drinks. We ordered several pretzels (largest I've ever seen!) and the wings - buffalo, naked and curry. Everything was super tasty - really enjoyed the naked wings and pretzels. We love German food so we stopped here for lunch. I'll start with the food. It was very good. The schnitzel was delicious. One of the pretzels we got was cooked perfectly. The other was burnt. I was surprised there was no spaetzel. The service was not good. I don't like ordering everything from my phone and then being charged a 20% automatic gratuity. For someone bringing me a tray of food? They never came back; they didn't provide any service worthy of a gratuity. It's automatic regardless of party size. The other thing that surprised me was the limited choices for beer at a BEER HALL. Stopped in to check this spot out as it was closed the last time I was in the area and although it was opened, I was disappointed to find out that they would be closing in 30mins for a private event (Holiday party albeit). Nevertheless we were able to order a beer and tour the inside and it seems to be a really cool place. The bartenders were friendly and service was prompt. This inside is very large, includes 2 separate levels with games and food to entertain along with the brew. I choose Bierstadt Lagerhaus as the spot for a work function.) Danny their event coordinator was on top of everything and super helpful with all my annoying questions and even came to say hi day of! Marcus their GM was so accommodating and really attentive of our group and everything. I didn't try the beer, but I enjoyed the cocktails from the menu and that they offered liquor as a good deal of us don't drink beer. The appetizer buffet was excellent and plentiful for our group of 75, the QR codes worked liked a dream and stuff came out pretty timely considering we chose to do this on a busy Saturday as a shared space instead of renting it out. We were able to make the space our own and despite the event being during peak hours it went off without a hitch. The only complaint which can't be helped is parking, but that's Rino and should be expected when coming to the area on a weekend with games on. Gotta be honest, I'm only writing this for the tip charge they put on. Hanging with friends tonight and we see the menu and it immediately discloses the added 20% charge tip. This place is awesome! Bavarian pretzel is the perfect share item; huge and perfectly soft doughy inside with pretzled outside. It comes with enough beer cheese that you do not need to add more, very rare. The sausage plate is also a perfect item to share for two; delicious sauerkraut and pickles. Sausages were perfectly cooked; just enough snap but still so juicy. The beers were tasty and you can get all sizes if you can't handle the liter steins, even though they look cool. Huge versions of outdoor games; beer pong with trash cans, cornhole with a board taller than a person, etc. The place is huge as well. Downstairs they have lots of supersize games (corn hole, beer pong and giant jenga), and when I went there was a wrestling thing up. What a great facility for brewing beer and wrestling! We stop by every year that we come to Denver for the Great American Beer Festival. They produce and serve quality German style lagers and there's lots of seating both inside and outside. It always great to catch a local wrestling match while sipping on some beers. Time to write an updated review for Bierstadt Lagerhaus because I finally got to try their food! Attended a ridiculous wrestling event on First Friday with friends. It was wildly chaotic, which made it more impressive that the staff was able to keep up with the crowds, both indoors and outdoors. Got my Michelada right away, which was tasty and went with the vibes of the evening. Would come back just to get one of those again. My friend and I shared a "Build Your Own Sausage Plate" ($18) with Smoked Brat, Jalapeno Cheddar, and 100% Veal sausages. Including all the pickled sides, this was a very filling meal for the two of us. Not the biggest fan of the pretzel bites but love that there were so many dips. My favorite was the spicy mustard. He was so friendly and we talked to him all evening, about beers and traveling. They don't do flights since they're more a restaurant/brew pub with select speciality beers. But he gave us half pours so we didn't have to commit if we didn't like it! It was a wonderful experience, great beer, lively atmosphere, everyone was enjoying themselves. A must visit in Denver if you are a beer lover. This is the brewery that made craft pilsners popular. The have a big out front patio when the weather is nice. Inside you'll find a fun vending machine with different mystery items. Downstairs there are games to place and vintage pinball machines. The upstairs bar is where I like to be. This place has so much potential. Inside it's quirky and fun. They have solid food options on the menu and several beers to choose from. The food overall is decent and not overly expensive. The biggest detriment was the service. Upon walking in we were stopped by an abrasive employee and barked at to show our IDs. It was just such a sour note to start the experience. My husband spoke with her later to ask where the bathrooms were and she was too busy with her phone to notice him for several minutes. I frequented Bierstadt for my GoCornhole league. It's a little hard to find since it sits below a parking lot and there's no iconic signage. Street parking is usually easy around 6p but gets tough as the night goes on. When you enter, you have to swipe your ID, no matter how many times you've been in before. Don't you dare try to show your ID to enter while someone is ordering, the bartenders get testy. Otherwise they are fairly chipper and work hard. Pretty small drink and food menu. Mostly German style lagers but no hefeweizen, and no sour beers on tap (my fav). They have like one house white and red wine, but they share the space with a wine bar so there's more wine down the hall. They also have some cans -- a few ciders and other beers. They automatically add 20% tip to every pour and prices are already a bit steep to begin with, so you're looking at $9+ per drink basically. I wasn't impressed with the lager or the dry cider for the prices so by the end of my league, water sounded pretty good. As for food, I was severely let down the one time I decided to fork over a pretty penny for a meal. I went with the chicken schnitzel sandwich. The bread was kinda dry, the chicken was more fried batter than meat, the savory slaw was a bit bland, and it had mustard with a decent kick. It comes with a side so I went with fries, which were wayyy too salty and crispy, and they also don't have regular ketchup in the entire restaurant, only curry ketchup, which is basically just spicy curry with a hint of tomato, super lame. In addition to cornhole, they also have life-sized beer pong barrels, giant connect four, and some classic video games. Plus they have live wrestling events once a month which is dope in my book. Cool spot to play games and have fun, but with the limited selection, steep prices, and below average food, it's hard to recommend. read more
