She explained the process thoroughly and recommended an insert. I have been having problems with my arch support and my Orthopedic recommended Road Runner. Great call! I left with a new pair of Nike shoes with the new custom made sole insert. My feet feel great, again. Oh, and that VIP pressure people talk about. Spencer explained it showing us how the numbers worked to our benefit. Savings in the long run and able to cancel at anytime. No sales pressure as I read some comments. Numbers did the trick!

(The gentleman at the register made a noise when I asked him about the machine in the front of the store but that was it). I even stood no more than 4 feet away from a female employee while she was talking with a customer and she didn't acknowledge my presence, much less tell me that she could help me in a moment....... it gives me such a terrible taste in my mouth to be treated like dirt in my hometown. But I did go today and spend $200 on a pair of shoes and I'll bring my family of four (including 2 young teens) to a shoe store in Encinitas even though they sell the same product at the same price over 5 miles away...... I really wanted to support local. But clearly the employees don't care about service.

We also love supporting small businesses when we can, so this felt like the perfect stop. Right when we walked in, we noticed how clean, organized, and well-stocked the shop was. There's a ton to choose from, which could feel overwhelming, but the two women working behind the register immediately stepped in and made the whole experience easy and actually really fun. They took the time to understand what we were looking for -- something beginner-friendly that the girls could enjoy without it being too advanced. One of the boards the girls were drawn to was actually more high-performance, and instead of just selling it to us, they guided us to a better option. Honestly, they saved us money and probably saved us from a frustrating first experience. They walked us through how to properly size the boards, explained what to look for, and even set everything up at checkout -- attaching the leash and showing the girls how to use it. They also gave a few quick tips that made us feel way more confident heading to the beach. That kind of service is rare. We also picked up a rash guard for my husband (great quality, he loves it) and a cute little shell bracelet that was perfect for the beach vibe. Is it the absolute cheapest place you'll find a bodyboard? Probably not. But the quality, the guidance, and the customer service more than make up for it. It was also a special run to celebrate 10 years of Fleet Feet, which was very fun. Lots of shoe demos here by Saucony, Hola, Addidas, etc. There was also a snow cone truck here too, free cookies and beverages were being given away. I couldn't stay for the raffle but heard a $200 gift card and some sneakers also given away. Yea! I'll def come back for this Wed fun run club! Will alternate between Lake Miramar and here! And oh the store had lots of running apparel for sale but also running shoes with consultation available. I will be back!

I had ordered shoes that were listed as available for pick up since I needed new ones for an event the next day, and received the confirmation email. The next day I drove 35 minutes to the store, only for an employee to tell me "Oh yeah these were cancelled", but I had never received a cancellation email or notification. I was happy to try a different pair and find other options they had currently in stock, but was told I would be put on a wait-list with no other solutions. 2 days later I finally received a cancellation notice. As a loyal customer, I really felt like I was overlooked and the staff member was dismissive. I always went out of my way to shop here, but I think I will take my business elsewhere as they do not seem to appreciate or communicate with their customers.

This store is not as big as other stores I have visited, but they still carry a lot of great items for adventuring. I like the fact that this store specializes in surf gear. I trust the Patagonia brand and their clothing and hats always fit well and last a long time. I wear a lot of Patagonia when I am on the trail or kayaking. Yes, they are a bit pricey but I like knowing that what I purchase is not going to tear or fall apart. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. I just browsed while my friend found herself a new hat. She received great service when checking out and I would definitely shop here in the future. I tried on a bunch of jackets and pants--shoutout to London at the fitting rooms, who was lovely! I initially left with a total of $381.58. But later, I noticed a couple of discrepancies: the jacket's discount was miscalculated and the pants were mislabeled as XS when they were actually smalls. After some research, I found the items for less on Amazon, so we called Hansens. My fiancé spoke with them, and they were willing to price match. Enter Patty, the awesome manager! Patty was incredibly kind and helpful--she matched the Amazon price and gave me a partial refund right on the existing order. I didn't even have to drive back to Encinitas or hassle with a return. Thanks to Patty Bolton and the team, everything was made right--and I'd absolutely recommend Hansens to anyone! 5 stars
