They're not pushing a membership, such as road runner, but are purely asking what you might be interested in. They do offer foot measurements and have you walk on a device that measures where your foot has the most pressure during steps, which I thought was really cool. They also send you the report automatically and don't try to upsell you on insoles (sorry road runner). Selection: they have a pretty large collection of shoes! If they don't have the color you want, they are more than happy to order it in for you. Value: what sold me was that they are selling you the shoe for the same if not near the same price as what it would cost online. But without the forced membership and shipping fee. She offered to scan my foot (which I thought might be a gimmick) but it turned out to be surprisingly informative. Using the scan results, she brought out three shoe options and carefully observed my stride as I tried each one. As a person that is hard to fit buying anything shoe related is a nightmare. I was a previous customer of Road Runner but didn't like the games with their vip club. Walking into Fleet Feet was a breath of fresh air. Catherine couldn't have been nicer and she really knew her stuff. I do feel bad because the shoe wasn't a perfect fit, but she made it easy to take home and try as they have a 30 day return policy. No clubs no fees. Fleet Feet is a little ways away from home but we have been on occasion for various reasons. Thursday we attended the Thanksgiving Day Fun Run and it was so much fun. A fairly gentle 5k walk/run through the local neighborhood before the food frenzy began. The staff and volunteers were in early to help guide us where to go and there were deals and shopping a plenty. Fleet Feet has a pretty decent variety of workout wear, shoes, and accessories. The employees were pleasant and for being so early on a holiday morning the store was quite busy. I believe most everything was up to 25% off, pricing on certain items was quite high but I guess comparable to other stores. In search of really good, stable, comfortable shoes and thought Hoka has many good reviews. We were in San Diego for the day, when I googled Hoka... Fleet Feet came up and was only 10 mins from our location. When we arrived, the location was clean and had plenty of accessories especially for runners. I recently got back into running and was in need of a new pair of running shoes. My wife had suggested to make a trip to Fleet Feet which was at least an hour away from where we live. I've got to say, it was 100% worth it. As soon as I walked into the store, I was greeted by Kevin. He was with me from the very beginning; getting a scan of my feet, analyzing my strides, which parts of my feet have more pressure points, etc. He explained everything in detail, asked me questions that led him to selecting shoes that would fit my needs. Kevin was generous enough to pull out about 5-6 pairs of shoes for me to try on, he even allowed me to take small jogs around the store for a couple pairs we boiled down to. He built value into each and every shoe that he showed me, and I wanted to soak in his running knowledge. We landed on the New Balance 1080, which I have ran about 30+ miles in since. Kevin was an absolute pleasure to work with. He provided me with a 10/10 experience. He displayed his high knowledge on running and the products, he was patient, asked all the right questions, along with being attentive to my own questions. She had purchased a few pairs and swore that the brand she bought at Fleet Feet changed her life. Dramatic right. So I was curious as HOW GOOD could a pair of shoes be . Well, I can attest the shoes I bought here at FF is legit. I have never felt more comfort walking, running, exercising with the New Balance and Brooks shoes I purchased here. They have been life changing. The staff here are remarkable. They have two machines that measure your feet and walking style. The data is then transferred to an ipad where they show you the findings and base shoe recommendations off of that. They also carry a large inventory of Vuori and Nike clothing. I actually bought my first New Balance running leggings on their sale rack last year. I took a friend's son to the store yesterday as he needed new shoes. We had Sara who was just so patient and kind. I think we must have spent 1.5h at the store trying on a variety of shoes and inserts. We ended up buying two pairs of shoes, inserts, and a vuori hoodie on sale. Prices aren't any higher than competing stores. I've recently got into running and training for a marathon, I wanted to officially get my feet scanned and sized and buy a new pair of daily trainers. A friend recommended Fleet feet, which is about 25 minutes from me so I decided to give them a try. I couldn't have had a more pleasurable experience. I was instantly greeted by Michelle as soon as I entered the store and she walked me through the entire process from start to finish. The entire time she was very friendly, attentive and listened to my inquiries, and very knowledgeable throughout the entire process. We scanned my feet, and lo and behold it turns out I've been buying a shoe size smaller than what I should be getting.she took the time to walk me through the scans explaining everything, asked me color preferences, and brought me three different shoes to try on. She even tied each of my shoes for me while I tried each pair and offered for me to take a spin in them. I didn't feel like she tried to upsell me, even with us trying sole inserts. I was on the hunt to get my dad some shoes since he had an ankle injury a while back, so I wanted to make sure he got a high quality pair of shoes to walk around in. We worked with Katy who helped scan my dads feet, had him walk around a bit, and made a ton of suggestions based on the results of his scan/fitting. He ended up with some awesome Hoka Cliftons which is not surprising because I have a pair and they're spectacular. Not only that, he wanted a color that wasn't in stores at that time, so Katy went through the list of available shoe colors to be shipped in store. The shipping time was only around 2-3 days, and once they arrived in store, Kevin (owner) ended up giving me a call to say they were ready for pick up. I was in need of new shoes for everyday life. I'm not a runner, and the closest I get to distance walking is getting to my gate at an airport, so I was not sure this store was right for me. I was SO wrong. I made an appointment and was taken care of immediately. After listening to my needs and any foot issues I might have, I was analyzed electronically for size, pronation, gait, etc. My salesperson, Dean, went over what was indicated, and then listened some more. He brought out several pairs of shoes that might work for my needs, and then brought out several more to address what I said about each pair. I settled on what I hope will be the shoes I needed. I ordered the color I wanted, and they are being shipped to my home at no extra charge. If they don't work out, I have 30 days, even after wearing them (!), to return and we can try again. One note: they are not inexpensive, but they also don't carry any unknown brands. I don't have a problem paying retail when I get this much skilled attention! I will absolutely go back, and recommend others to go to this incredibly customer service oriented store. read more

Went here on Saturday after my physical therapist recommended them when I said I was looking to strengthen my feet with barefoot shoes some of the time but wanted a supportive shoe for the other part of time. They told me I'd get a great assessment and lots of choices. I bit and came in with my partner. I did the assessment first. We had a super friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, and professional team member work with us. I'm a disabled veteran, trying to beat a disease that's had me since I got injured in the Navy. Katy was extremely accommodating without the kind of attention that makes a disabled person feel patronized and pitied. She made me feel like any other person in the store. I didn't expect them to take my goals as seriously as she did and be willing to give me the best help possible. She was gentle, patient, and her options of shoes were great! When I put them on, they felt better than anything I had ever been able to pick out on my own-especially within that time frame. I hadn't bought good athletic shoes since 2015 before my disability started. This exceeded anything I've ever experienced in a shoe store. I didn't feel like I was being sold anything-I felt like I was seeing a new provider of some sort and being looked at as a whole person. I knew in this visit that this would definitely not be the last. It felt like meeting someone I'd have an on going professional relationship with. She helped me get the shoes on and off. She gave me her professional opinions without being pushy. Didn't pressure me to buy anything. She spoke well of my physical therapist clinic. Then she worked with my girlfriend. She was just as helpful and professional with her. My girlfriend is equally impressed with Katy and Fleet Feet. I saw my pt Monday and told them about my experience with Katy. They spoke well of Katy and the business. Told me it sounded like I got really good advice. Pt wants to do a foot assessment on me before I buy new shoes first, though. They've been mostly working with me on upper body injuries and a hip injury so feet has not been a major focus yet. I'll be having that assessment next week. I look forward to going back to Fleet Feet and seeing getting my next pair of shoes! The only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating is because of the fact I haven't made my purchase yet and because I didn't see any options for the barefoot shoe style. However, I know that the barefoot style is a new niche culture in the fitness community and the science between less support and more support is controversial and contradictory. The staff helps you put the shoes on and makes sure that they fit. They are patient and go out of the way to make sure that you are satisfied before you make a purchase. I also bought a pair of Hoka's. They were not comfortable on me after wearing them for a couple of weeks. With the generous return policy of this store, I was able to return them even though I wore them. Today I went into the store to return them and it was quick and easy! The store was extremely clean, social distancing rules were being followed (there was only one other customer inside at the time), and there were hand sanitizing stations throughout. This has been my go-to specialty shoe store for quite some time. I have very specific requirements for my shoes, they must offer stability, an excellent amount of cushion and protection for an old Achilles injury. I was last here on 12/24 and was immediately greeted by an employee. I explained my needs, brands I had previously worn, and brands that I wanted to try. Within a few minutes, my customer service representative had returned from the stock room with two pairs of shoes for me try on. Employees are extremely knowledgeable about the pro and cons of the shoes that are for sale and are never going to sell you something that isn't going to meet your needs. They also have a device that measures your instep and heel to help them in selecting a shoe and/or insoles for you. Fleet Feet is a bit of a drive from me and isn;t the most affordable shoe store, however, I will always make an effort to frequent the store. Highly recommended!! 10/10. read more

Their customer service is great and they have an awesome selection. I think the best part about Fleet Feet is their return and exchange policy. With running shoes it's sometimes hard to tell if a shoe is right for you until you go on a few runs with them.
