Stripped out my oil drain plug. Stuck a temporary drain plug in. Then charged me over $100. I took it back to them. They accept no responsibility and put the same temporary drain plug back in it. The Big 5 service center on E. Marshall Ave. was superb on fixing the situation. They said clearly the other service center was at fault. They replaced the old drain plug with the right one and said to bring it back if anything else takes place. I still give the Loop 281 store a 1 because they are no longer recommended by me. The E. I used to do business with the shop on Moberly but didn't want to across town; so I went in to the shop on the Loop. First time I ever went to this one and will be the last. First off; I'm a woman but have worked on my own vehicles and have learned some stuff over the years. I had just bought a new Dodge Ram 1500 and it had a severe shimmy in the front and was off alignment. I went in and told the guy at the desk that I needed for my tires to be balanced and an alignment job. He told me that I was third in line and was about 10:00; I said fine and went outside to sit and wait. I went in to check on the situation before lunchtime and he said that they hadn't gotten to it yet; even so, I see all these men coming in and buying tires, oil changes, etc. So, I went over to Burger King and ate lunch, went to Walgreens and shopped in Ross. There was a another woman that came before I went to lunch and was waiting outside with me. She asked me how long that I had been waiting and I told her since 10:00. She said a few nasty words and went in and got her keys and left. Almost 4 bloody hours later, they said that it was done. They NEVER told me what the situation was, problems with wheels or tires, etc. I paid ($130), being very pissed and left. I pulled it out on the road and it was worse than ever!!!!! I then said a few nasty words about the personnel and went over to the auto department in Walmart on Estes. There's a guy (Bill) that is one of the best mechanics besides my brother in law. I told him what the problem was and he did what I asked him. He stated that one of the tires had been repaired and wasn't like the other two and I stated that I didn't notice the difference in the tires. He said the rims was fine and said that the main wheel weights had never been removed but a couple more had been placed at random places that wasn't needed and was over weighted!!!!????? Hmmmmm Imagine that???? If you chowder heads at Big 5 are reading this...........I WANT MY MONEY BACK! OR REIMBURSE ME FOR THE WORK THAT I HAD DONE AT WALMART!!!! Horrible customer service!!!!! If I had a manger tell a customer that they were a liar & fabricating things I'd fire them. What has happened to our customer service like first let us check the work done & see if we can find out what the problem is. We were getting the there's no problem from the Hwy 80 site. We finally took the truck to 2 different certified mechanics & they pointed out the problem. Horrible customer service and when oil change was complete some mechanic told me I need an alignment and 2 tires I said really it's not pulling he look dumbfounded so I paid and left got another opinion they said tires were in great shape so they lied about that he said I test drove alignment is good another lie but he said you have a oil leak I said really I just had it serviced he said plug is not tight wow I'll never go back big 5 is a Joke! read more

I cant really express how bad this place is my son was in town for the weekend and he needed some work done on his car I get the bill for a oil change alignment and brakes well the crazy thing is his brakes were done 6 months ago funny huh then I inspect oil change fluid was good I said ok then looked at filter same filter I know because it had a date on it with a marker that was still their also corrosion on the battery they didn't offer to clean all tires were inflated to about 40 but calls for 35psi I don't know what has happened to this place but ill never return cause when I called their was a excuse for everything read more

Went in to have flat fixed and 4 tires balanced and rotated. Instructions for no air tools and torque wrench to spec were given. They rotated tires but did not check balance. Manager knew they didn't balance my tires and admitted so. They also didn't have a torque wrench on premises leaving my lug nuts questionably tightened. Drove to Mobberly location, showed the manager my receipt, and lack of work done. He fixed it immediately. read more

I went in for 2 tires. Got home and they had broken my back hatch door. When I called to get them to fix it they refused and said it was like that when I dropped it off although they didn't know which door I was talking about. Will never shop there again or recommend them to anyone. read more

Well first off let me begin by saying I have done buisness with big 5 for a long time and in the past they really did take care of my needs very well and I have always tryed to be loyal too them for my business I have even referred people too them however the past couple of times I have not felt as though my businesse really was not wanted for example I came in to buy two tires I was told they could not get what I needed for at least a week well when you need tires u need tires so I had too go else where and I was able to get them in two days I went in this past Saturday to get an oil change it was at 1:00 they close at 4 I am the type of person that will bring my own oil so they don't have to worrie about ordering my type of oil that still did not matter I was told can't do it I'm to busy the store in mobberly did not want to do it either its sad when you try to be loyal to a businesse as I have and they can't even fit me in for a lousy oil change and so my businesse with big 5 tire ended on this past Saturday read more
