I got the nachos and then a bunch of their wing sauces to dip the nachos in. It was actually really delicious for a place that doesn't really need to nail it with food. I had a good time playing games here, although the grease of the fries etc has certainly made its way onto the videogame controllers and they could use a regular wipe down. My main disappointment has nothing to do with the place, I'm just old. Like Rampage used to be a game where you were a criminal that drank a weird potion or something and you'd mutate, but they made it in 3D without doing the fun mutation effects? And then you used to punch a building and interrupt someone going about their day, like maybe they were watching TV, or making toast. And you could eat that toast. Well no more! Here for a team building event and the food was very good! The vegetarians and carnivores both expressed their satisfaction with the meal (Cole slaw, hummus (high marks!) and veg platters, grilled corn, rice, fruit-melons, pineapples, oranges); Mac salad, Hawaiian sweet rolls, pulled pork, teriyaki chicken, spring rolls with sweet chili sauce. An array of beverages and bar drink tickets. The servers provided take out boxes for the leftovers. The bar staff were super chill. The front desk staff were great with the bowling shoe rentals. I think I saw an ice cream display near the video game section, and there were several families with their young children enjoying the activities. The bowling was fun! The seating and tables were spacious; and the bar tables also served as bowling ball racks. The TVs were showing all sorts of baseball games, music videos, and animal pics. Something for everyone;) Adjacent to us was a large private room where an association was holding their meeting. Great soundproofing, I think, as we didn't hear their speakers; so I'm assuming they didn't hear our bowling cheers. There's another large bowling area on the other side of the bar. This was my first time at this Big Al's location and the experience was what I expected. Very busy on a Friday night! Our group had a few lanes booked (online) and we ordered some food and drinks. I liked the online ordering feature, since it allows us to add items to our tab without having to call someone over physically. If you order an alcoholic beverage, a staff member comes to your table to check your ID before handing you the drink. I had the Yours Truly beverage on their "signature cocktails" list and it tasted a little bit watered down - while the liquor is a Truly + vodka, I wish it had less of a seltzer water taste. The arcade games on the opposite side of the building were pretty standard and enjoyable. We spent $30 on credits and it lasted us about an hour. A good mix of single-player and multiplayer gaming options. The ambiance of the entire space was family-friendly and loud. Your typical arcade vibes! read more

We came here in the middle of the day to find something for the kids to do. They had a blast. This place is huge and has so many options and activities to keep the kids entertained. It has a lot of fun games! The place was clean, even the bathrooms, and it had good music playing and lots of room. Never felt too crowded. The bartender was fantastic and went out of her way to make just skinny margaritas that were just to our liking! We also ended up getting food. I got the quesadilla and it was super yummy. Admittedly, I don't go here often, but went for a team event and to reserve one lane for 4 people (time for 2 games) was over $100. Wow! I think they do deals on things, especially on Tuesdays, but just wow. Food prices are high, but what isn't these days, and it was just okay. It's loud which is fine, but kinda stressful. This review is just for the restaurant. The booths were big and comfortable and they had a number of screens playing a bunch of different games. The service started off good but then my server went home and I had to hunt for whoever took over for him. It took forever to get a refill and even longer to get the check. The food was meh. The reservation system here sucks!!! People reserve lanes online and never show up, We were unaware bowling now requires reservations and showed up at 6pm on Saturday after being informed in was a 2 hour wait we decided to buy arcade cards and wait. The whole time we waited 3 lanes sat empty, no one ever played these lanes? huh?!?since they already have the money it's not a priority for people waiting to get a lane and if they do call you up you only get 45 minutes of the 1 hour paid because reservations get a 15 minute grace period. Really they should be required to check in early and claim the reservation or forfeit it immediately. Lots of Arcade games were broken and point payout is low. Waste of money... read more

Our first encounter with the cashier up front was flat out horrible. His attitude exuded annoyance with us. But, Alyssa (sorry if I misspelled) totally turned that around for us. After explaining what was less than a welcoming experience upon entry, she spoke with management and offered us a free appetizer. So we had the Southwest Eggrolls and they were very filling. Came here last week and spent about $80 on food. We left pretty unsatisfied. The service wasn't great, we asked out server Chris what the flavors of the wings were like and he wasn't able to give us an answer; I also asked what's the "sticky" on the sticky wings and he had no idea. When I ordered my wings half of them were a dry rub even though the flavors I ordered did not indicate 'dry rub'. We ordered a grilled chicken burrito and the chicken was burnt. I ordered the near death burger and it had no spice or good flavor... my friend ordered a turkey club and it was so dry. Honestly everything we ordered was not good. Pretty disappointed because the food here used to be amazing and the service was great but has definitely gone down. It's a cool place to hang out but probably wouldn't get food again. read more

This place has a lot going on. Billiard and a giant screen on one side and bowling alley on the other. In the middle is an arcade and a kitchen and dining. The arcade cost me a small fortune as my daughter very quickly burned through $50 and therefore I will NEVER do that again. :-) However the bowling pricing didn't look bad and I would come back for that next time of shoot some pool. I unfortunately didn't check the prices for the billiards. Food: I love their online ordering and we just had to scam the barcode at the table. That was cool. The oversized pretzel was great and definitely worth the $12 price as it was very shareable and came with cheese. Pizza was devoured by the kids and also somewhat reasonable at $18. The $18 fried buffalo cauliflower which is what I got really excited about was nasty and undercooked!! It was almost like just eating cooked cauliflower dredged in hot sauce and raw flour. After paying so much for it, I opted to take it home and throw it on my air fryer later but I probably should've sent it back. I took a picture of the recooked version to compare. But honestly I don't think anyone is coming here to eat Cauliflower. But don't order it and waste your money. The food here is absolutely terrible. Mac and cheese is is worse then Kraft Mac and cheese, pretzel bites were burnt and hard as a rock. Pizza dough was WAY overcooked, all the food came at different times, and the waitress was Mya and she didn't care about the customer, she played on her phone, joked with coworkers, never came and checked on us, the manager and other waiters did her job for her. I came in on a Monday night to watch the ncaa national basketball championship game. We got there a little early and had to ask the manager to change the station to the pre game show. Honestly the manager most likely did not even know there was a game abut for happen. The most important game of the year for college basketball and this place is supposed to be a sports bar? The beers they have their are way overpriced and most of the beers x I wanted they were out of. The staff there is a bunch of young kids under 25. I feel bad for them as none of them really could care less about their mediocre jobs. We wanted another beer and noticed 6 employees at the end Of the bar doing absolutely nothing. I do have to say that once to get the chance to order a brew, they are quick to bring it out to you. My buddy got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and he seems to enjoy it a lot. I am APPALLED by the cost of the arcade. I have been to Big Al's many times over the years, since I was a kid myself, and I know it's always been a little expensive... but they've actually lost their minds at this point. We paid $130 for 1.5 hours of bowling for 6 people in the "VIP" lanes, which I didn't think was a big deal. We were able to reserve a lane online. We spent about $90 on food for 6 people, which again, seems reasonable. BUT THEN we took our three kids to play in the arcade. We put $20 on two cards and our three kids played for less than 10 minutes. The "Fast and Furious" game alone, just a little driving simulation game, used up HALF of the balance of one of our cards for two people to play. Absolutely insane. I won't come again for this reason alone. read more

My 6 year old and I visited on a recent Friday night. The wall of noise smacked us when we walked in. We bowled and ate some pizza and fried yummies- all 5 stars there! The servers were excellent and helpful! The downside came when we went to redeem our arcade points for a prize st the end of the night. We had spent 30-40 minutes in the arcade and spent at least $40 there. The prizes were the chintziest arcade prizes ive ever seen! We walked away with 2 gummy hamburgers. My daughter actually burst into tears as we walked out and I had to buy her an acceptable arcade-type prize on Amazon, as reparation. Big Al should go buy a cartload of mini candy bars to give out as arcade prizes. The trauma of the gummy hamburgers is real. read more

Scammed by management. This location has gone down hill so much. Not into 2 frames lane broke down, they tried to fix but issue consisted. When we asked for a refund because of faulty equipment they refused and only allowed us to get a gift card. Young and clearly inexperienced evening manager just kept saying it's against company policy, even though policy isn't clearly explained or posted. Big Al's is the unholy lovechild of a Hooters and a Chuck E. Cheese, but with better pizza, and no skimpy outfits. It's the ManBearPig of entertainment venues: half sports bar, half arcade, half bowling alley (wait...that's too many halves!); an indoor amusement center for the whole family! There's a lot going on here, yet it doesn't get itself muddled up in what it is trying to accomplish. With more than two dozen lanes (maybe three?), wait times are rarely more than an hour, and even then, that's only when the floodgates are released and the surge hits (such as reopening weekend after COVID restrictions are relaxed). The arcade has a vast selection of family friendly party-style games (air hockey, DDR), co-op shooters, "ticket"-dispensing/quarter swallowing staples (skee ball, basketball), and much more. All the games are accessed digitally via pre-purchased credit cards, and range from ~$0.10 for the carnival games to a buck and change for the large arcade cabinets. Your prize "tickets" are similarly accrued on this card (don't lose it!) and can be cashed in at the prize center across the way (if you can stomach the annoyingly long line with eager kids in tow). As for the bowling alley, well...it's a bowling alley. They have cosmic bowling sometimes. You throw balls at pins. That's pretty much universal, right? Not much commentary needed, I think. The food is sports, for lack of a better term, Red Robin-esque: decent, if overpriced, and comes in sizeable portions. Same can be said for the cocktails and brews - not quite on the cusp of movie theater pricing, but in the same ballpark. They have a captive audience, and they know it. Still, you could do worse. I've had a Near Death experience here; well...the burger was called the "Near Death" and, to their credit, it was one of the few spicy food items I've ever eaten in a restaurant that gave me pause, due to the intensity of the heat. I'd eat it again, but I'd warn lightweights away from it! in short, if you're looking for a good time with friends or family, you can find it here at Big Al's. It might not be cheap, but it'll be a good time. read more

Over the years of being a customer here, there has been a consistently with the pros and cons. Below is a summary you may find helpful. Pros: great place for bowling, and plenty of lanes. Day or night! It's one of the few (probably only not in gross Portland) that's in south Washington worth going to for bowling. Mostly cause the others have closed down over the last 10-20 years. The bar area is pretty good for watching the games, and maybe a beer. Cons: The food is gross, the customer service is slow, and everything is outrageously overpriced. Especially the arcade!!! What a fun spot to check out in our neighborhood for last week's Monday night's football ! We came for Happy Hour after we had a fun time at the arcade. The happy hour menu was pretty decent, we got a $5 margarita and glass of white wine for $4.5. We also ordered the chicken bacon flatbread, southwest eggrolls and beef quesadillas. Kept getting passed onto other people and essentially getting the run around. Went onto bullwinkles website and booked a party within minutes. We came for Father's Day instead of our traditional golf trip because of rain. Haven't been here in years. Not only was bowling free for fathers, you also got a game pass card good for any game in the arcade. Wow, we so enjoyed the bowling, arcade, food, and maybe a slight too many beers. This may become our new Father's Day tradition. All the employees were awesome and kept everything moving along so we did not have to wait very long, even though there was a huge line.
