It would be nice if they would acknowledge your presence when you got to the counter. They don't even look at you. Is it really so hard to just look up and smile and say I'll be right with you? I have been eating there bagels since 2009. Everything is yummy. My favorite is and everything bagel with lox loaded.

This was our first and now last visit to this establishment. $8.50 is to much for a sandwich with barely anything on it. Bagels were better than other MB places. Nothing beats the bagels back home in NJ. read more

The counter staff is very friendly and efficient, however it takes a long time to get a bagel with cream cheese. The interior is not filthy but it's not clean either, it could use a good scrub down and repainting. The sidewalk outside needs cleaning as well. I don't get the hype. This is absolutely nothing like a NY bagel. If you call your shop Big Apple Bagels, it should be somewhat close to a New York bagel. Sorry but this place wasn't even close. The bagel was very bread like and definitely didn't have that good crisp bite and the inside wasn't dense. It was closer to a roll with a hole in the middle. I was actually pretty excited to try this place and when we walked in, it looked like it might be really good. There were a nice variety of muffins and the bagels. My wife and I met another couple for dinner. We started by sharing an order of pita bread and spinach dip. All agreed this was excellent. My wife ordered the small antipasti salad, and I had the small house special pizza. The pizza was excellent and included various meat and vegetable toppings. I recall it was $14.35. My wife enjoyed her salad as well. One of our guests had spaghetti with meat sauce and a chef salad. All agreed the food and value was very good. Our server was the owner and had a great sense of humor. The service was superb. The atmosphere is acceptable but some of the tables and chairs are in need of repair/replacement. These are the best bagels we have ever eaten, and we've eaten a lot of bagels. We live in Chicago and come to Myrtle Beach for vacation each year. When we are back home we talk about how beautiful the ocean is, the weather and everything, but then we talk about how good these bagels are and how much we miss them when we leave. Upon arrival back at Myrtle Beach we stop in, sometimes before checking in to the condo. We ask for what's hot when we get there and grab at least 6 for our family of 4. Okay bagels but major red flag when my friend and I went in to order breakfast to go and three different employees essentially yelled at my friend and told her she wasn't allowed to have her certified service dog in the store, even though her dog had her service vest on and had her tags with her as well. They also continued to ask to see her tags which is illegal. It's a shame that Big Apple Bagels does not accommodate those with disabilities or know the law. Placed an order for 2.5 dozen bagels a day and a half in advance for a late morning pickup. When I arrived, the order was not ready. While I waited, I paid (unfortunately, they won't accept recently expired coupons like many of the other businesses). Minutes later, a man came out of the back with the bagels and rudely said to his staff, "make sure they pay." I said they were mine, and I had to wait to verify that I had already paid (I was not given a receipt). When I got home, I found out that I did not have the correct number of bagels.
