Where's the 10 stars button? I had a last minute birthday to plan. And in less than 36 hours, these guys made the most beautiful custom cake based on an intricate design. I wasn't expecting it to be exact to the picture and told them to do their best. I mean it takes time. Their decorators were flawless. It was stunning. Huge props! Now onto taste. The yellow cake was moist and delicious. Their American Buttercream was light and sweet and held up in 90 degree heat for hours. Lastly, price. In my opinion, i was undercharged. The quality and craftsmanship (not to mention last minute with no late charge!) were well above what i paid for a 3 layer cake. My advice. You'd be a fool to go anywhere else. read more

It's like a coconut cream pie, cheesecake and key lime pie all in one. Not overly sweet or tart the coconut makes it special. That whipped topping is fresh and light. It's the greatest pie ... period. read more

My sister was down the shore yesterday and brought up some St. Joes pastry for the family from The Big Apple Bakery in Manahawkin. I wanted to show South Jersey some love so here's a quick review. Both pastries had the same fried zeppole as a base, they had a nice flavor although I did have them the next day and were a little dry (not the bakery's fault it's just when I got them). The custard was more of what you get in a Boston cream donut and if it was a donut I would have been very happy because it was stuffed. The cannoli cream had a great flavor and had lots of cinnamon, which was fine for me because I enjoy the spice. Again they were not cheap with the filling and that is always a plus. On one other note, the cannoli also had candied fruit mixed inside, I'm ok with that some people are not. Overall they were ok but I would stick with the cannoli version if you ever stop in. read more

Recently moved to the area full time and looked at all of the great reviews so gave it a last minute try because I didn't want a grocery store cake. The store is very nice and clean. The different cakes and cookies looked like they would be delicious and there was a consistent level of customers in and out. Purchased 2 cakes: a vanilla with a custard filling and a chocolate iced one. I asked to have my kids names on each and instead of taking the cakes from the display the girl went in the back and came out with 2 cakes in boxes and away I went. The vanilla tasted and felt like an old frozen cake and the custard filling was not appealing. The chocolate was basically the same. No one we served it to wanted to finish it. I'm just quite baffled by the whole thing and won't be back. If the cakes weren't fresh, I would have preferred honest information and steered to a person who could help me with a better choice. read more
