In season, out of season, or somewhere in between, Baked on the Beach is always a must stop. When we rent over the summer, we probably go every two or three days. The muffins are the BEST, especially the fruit ones, and the crumb cake is nuts. It's like they bake it JUST to the point of not being raw and then top it with 60lbs of crumb. The building itself is tiny, so if there's a line outside, don't let that stop you. Things move quickly. If you're planning to pick up pies or other must-have items, definitely order ahead since you never know when they will be sold out--I've seen it happen. Nothing says summer on LBI like starting the day with a few bites of anything from here. Waking up to that pink box always puts a smile on my face. I generally try to stay away from bakeries because, well...let's just say as a guy of my size I can go overboard. Today, our first morning of vacation here in LBI, Wifey and I want for a walk and 'ended up' in front of Baked on the Beach. Ok, so maybe I planned it because I KNEW she'd want some treats, but what's a guy to do, NOT make his wife happy??? The aroma outside was fantastic, and the aroma inside was...heavenly. We walked out with an Orange-Strawberry muffin, blueberry muffin, chocolate croissant, blueberry scone and a Beach Bum cookie (not all for us for those already judging the fat guy, our kids are here too). As I'm writing this I'm wiping the last crumbs off my plate, because nothing should be left behind. The two muffins were absolutely amazing...not too sweet, but lots of fruit that really made the flavors pop. I also tried the Beach bum cookie and "Wow" is really the only word to describe it. So.Damn.Good!! Wifey and the kids LOVED the scone and croissant too. Thankfully, the walk may have offset some of the calories. Maybe a longer walk tomorrow, LOL. read more

Not recommending this place. Underwhelming. Crumb cake, very little flavor not leaving you wanting more n where is the powdered sugar. Also it was a bit dry n seems to be made too in advance, not fresh. Maybe make less than more daily n under bake. Muffins were moist fluffy n a lot of berries so that was good. Pies well let's just say a crust needs to be delicious n it was not. And at $25 a pie. That pie needs to be amazing. Re: prices, how about displaying them??! Yes they r too high, what should they be well if you cut the crumb cake in half $3. It's too big anyway. A couple things for a family of 4 should not cost $50. I can go get a full breakfast at Table for $80. Table I highly recommend instead. The boys r always on point. Lastly, it's uncomfortably small / tight when just a couple people r in there. Get rid of the furniture. Oh almost forgot, the counter help, is not appreciative not Kind, Helpful, so no tip for you girlies. Absolute best bakery in LBI! As we only vacation for a week or two each year, our visits to Baked on the Beach are sadly limited to just a few a year. However, I spend the rest of the year thinking about it and looking forward to my next visit! The staff are so nice and everything is made fresh daily. My favorites are the beach bum cookies (if you have not tried these, go get one...right now, if possible!!). They are huge and amazing and just $2. I bring home a least a dozen every year and freeze them so I can enjoy throughout the year. Well, let's be honest, they only make it about a month or two! All of their other cookies are good as well. My husband usually picks out an assortment to bring home. Scones and muffins - yum!! Key lime pie - best ever!! I love when I'm lucky enough to score one of the mini pies. It stays fresh all week and I can enjoy a bite here and there. Key lime bars are also great. I'm not super crazy about the chocolate croissants as I found them to not have enough chocolate inside - I prefer consistent chocolate all the way through. But everything else I've had has been amazing. They are open year round, so if you're in the area, go in for some sweet treats. The best on the island! read more

I placed an order and paid in full on Thursday, August 29th for 6 tarts to be picked up at 11:00 am on Monday, September 2nd. I was having company on Labor Day. My guests asked if they could bring dessert and I said I had that taken care of, or so I thought. My husband went to Baked on the Beach in Surf City with receipt in hand ready to pick up the order. He was told that 4 of the 6 tarts were sold out. The person behind the county said they ran out of product that morning. How do you take an order 4 days in advance that was paid in full 4 days in advance and not put aside the ordered items? We had to scramble to find dessert items for my guests as I told them not to bring anything. My husband did get his money back, but that's not the point. Don't expect your ordered items to be waiting for you when you arrive. We won't be patronizing Baked On The Beach anymore. Very poor customer relations! read more

This bakery is so cute! Very Instagram worthy, both on the outside as well as the inside. They recently introduced a "take out" window on the side of the house. Because of the pandemic, they are only allowing 1 person in the bakery at a time (which is perfect). I ordered a cake for my Birthday, they had a lot of options and I went with a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. The smallest cake they had feeds between 12-15 people and it cost about $40. A little pricier than we were expecting, but it was absolutely delicious! They also sell candles (thank God!) so that is super convenient! read more

My husband and I arrived around 3:30 on 7/2/19 to purchase a pie for my mother's 80th birthday. The girls working behind the counter looked half asleep and even less interested in assisting us with a purchase. We stated we were looking to purchase a pie and we were quickly offered the peanut butter mousse pie. We stated we have several family members with a nut allergy and requested an alternative. We were offered the chocolate mousse pie and assured there weren't any nuts in this pie. Thank god we realized as we were cutting the pie. Yes nuts in the pie crust. No trip to the ER on grandma's birthday Suggestions: Have allergies listed for your products and hire staff that actually care about your customers. Heard about this bakery serving gluten free items so I decided to try one of each item, not displayed...had to ask teen working behind display case, and purchased a cupcake, choc cookie, and muffin for the high price of $11.75. They still have the Covid 19 protection screens up so trying to communicate is rather difficult.The 2 bite, burnt, yellow (box mix) cupcake with a dab of chocolate icing was super dry and flavorless without the dab of chocolate icing. Cannot understand for the life of me why business owners sell burnt products....you are not getting ahead but behind as NO way will I return and will definitely share my experience with my other Celiac disease friends to spare them the $$$ and disappointment. We Celiacs are being surcharged for being given this terrible disease genetically, which causes havoc to our bodies! The box mix muffin was also very dry and had a few of the freeze dried blueberries. For $5 a muffin, at least it could be baked with real fruit and not be over cooked, requiring liquid to get it down. The cookie was the only decent item and enjoyable, this is why I gave 1 star. One day maybe, a baker will have compassion for us Celiacs, and not discriminate against us with higher prices for an inherited disease. read more
