I'm lactose intolerant and tried their hard-served frozen yogurt. After sampling a couple different flavors, I got a large of the low fat vanilla peanut butter for $6-something--enough for me to charge to my credit card. It was amazing! Tasted just like ice cream ,it almost seemed too good to be true but rest assured I was fine haha. We didn't have a chance to grab a waffle this time, but the ice cream was excellent. We had a small cup of salted caramel pretzel, which turned out to be a pretty decent serving size. We'll definitely be back if we have the chance. EDIT: I stopped back and grabbed a waffle with the same salted Carmel pretzel ice cream and it was amazing, definitely worth it. The Windmill on LBI is THE place to get ice cream! Located in Bay Village, this shop is full of friendly faces and delicious ice cream flavors. During our frequent trips to the shop, we enjoyed vanilla, cookies n' cream, sweet and salty, rocky road, strawberry, black raspberry, and cookie dough. It's almost impossible to pick a favorite but I would have to go with the waffle topped with a scoop of each strawberry and black raspberry ice cream, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. We interacted with 3 team members. The first was terrific. The second and third team members were rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. After we received our order of three bowls of ice cream we realized that one bowl didn't actually appear to have any cookie in it. After jumping back in line to ask for a replacement or discount on another. The young lady behind the counter was immediately unhelpful and rude. I used to work in customer service and the first thing you learn is to listen to the customer and be nice. The staff definitely needs to be trained on basic guest service. read more

The chocolate peanut butter was incredible with huge chunks of moist flavorful peanut butter; by far the best I have ever had! The ice cream is ok. BUT the service is HORRIBLE. We bought ice cream for our 3 kids ($20ish dollars). My daughter ordered the cookie ice cream and it came bright blue with not a single cookie chunk. Didn't taste great. If it was even decent, she would have ate it but it was really not good. When I so politely told them she didn't like it (hoping either we could get a new kind or a discount on a new one), the staff was so rude! Teenage girl attitude rude - immediately telling me it was my fault because I didn't ask for a sample. The manager hopped into the conversation and said "do you want to purchase a new one or not?" I ended up paying for a full replacement - which honestly would have been ok from the beginning if their response was kind instead of defensive and accusatory. I have never had treatment like that from an icecream shop. There are so many choices for ice cream on the island - from now on, we'll choose one with kind workers that appreciate the business. read more
