We enjoyed the simplicity of the chopped cheese. The variations were fun and some were really nice. There was one that didn't quite hit for us (I can't remember the name of it because I we went a while back, but I'm pretty sure it was something spicy and it was overpowering the steak flavor), I'd recommend keeping it simple. We felt the price was a little expensive for what you're getting, but it was definitely a nice change from the same old sandwich shop. They also ran out of a few items that we wanted. Pickle chips, dole whip, and the price for a can of soda was a bit much--especially since there wasn't refills. The service was very friendly and the owner explained everything to us in a nice tidy way. The atmosphere was cute and clean. The walls adorned with all things NYC. Unique take on a sandwich and a burger. I got the Long Island and it was decent but I expected more based on the rave reviews and price. The French fries were great but the sandwich was honestly pretty basic and a little small for $16. I had hoped the pineapple slaw would have had a stronger taste. The service was great. What we got: *Bacon, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich: I was excited that I might finally find a proper East Coast-style breakfast sandwich but this was so far from it. Super salty to the point of inedible, the kaiser roll untoasted with a Kraft slice... It was only $6, and still not worth it. *The Sinatra Hash: Previous photos showed a bowl of actual hash potatoes and the serving looked much bigger than what we received. Which was a small portion of premade hash brown with an egg and a little bit of chopped beef. The chopped beef was unremarkable, it could have been anything. Topped with another Kraft slice. Also super salty, it made my mouth tingle. This was $15 LOL We downed what we could with a full liter of water. Maybe our mistake was not getting a classic chopped beef? The food truck canceled but they happily delivered. My only complaint is there were not enough napkins with this order because 2 did not suffice for the juicy mess of my FDNY chopped cheese sandwich. Big apple bodega hard to find an actual bodega in Colorado definitely a New York thing this isnt the same for the ambiance, but I don't care because the chop cheese sandwiches are delicious. Service is always great they greet you when you walk in and are very friendly the owner is from New York so that awesome. We have had a couple different sandwiches so far the Sinatra was great and I have had the empire steak which has a gravy my though was eew, but I was so wrong it is delicious, my co worker has had the Far Rockaway with jalapenos she said it was great. The sandwiches come with fries, we did substitute for onion rings last time they are great onion rings but were to filling for me, I'll stick with the fries. We both love the fried pickles with buffalo mayo these were so good iv been dreaming of eating them again. And for all my Disney lovers this is the place for a Dole whip yes you heard that right Dole whip is delicious and a must. Warning this is on the more pricey side but honestly worth every penny. He started the biz with a food truck, then as the truck got more successful, he decided to invest in a brick & mortar restaurant. He told me he'll be bringing the food truck out again in the spring. Please don't let the name fool you, this is the NY version of the Philly Cheesesteak. It's basically ground meat, with some onion & spices mixed in. Their menu is full of delicious sounding sandwiches and I am so glad I was able to try them. They have a 4.9 rating on Google and it is so well reserved. The bread was soft, fresh, and pillowy. The meat was seasoned well and perfectly cooked. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly on site. You have to check them out. The vibe is welcoming, casual, and they have a very nice patio. I read that Big Apple Bodega had opened a brick and mortar restaurant and had to try it out. At 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon there wasn't a crowd. I would imagine they get busy for happy hour or regular lunch/dinner times. The restaurant has some very cool New York themed decor, a very cute, small patio area on the side and a couple of picnic tables outside in back by the parking lot. We were greeted by the owner, Brian, who took our order and made our food. He let us know that each sandwich is made to order so we could make customizations. Brian has been in the food industry since his teen years and his experience shows. Because the sandwiches are pretty large, we split a Sinatra - their classic - and an order of potato skins that were like a very tasty cross between chips and fries. Our sandwich didn't have the same type of bun that's shown on their website but it was very good. I will definitely be back because they have so many more varieties of chopped cheese sandwiches that I'd love to try. read more

Is the dirty water dog actually the best thing on the menu? Of course not--chopped cheese and beef is delicious. But the dog, despite the disgusting name is pretty great and cheap. I was pretty said when I saw that Turtle Boat was shutting down, as it had been a cherished neighborhood staple, but Big Apple Bodega has definitely helped relieve my grief. The types of sandwiches they offer here (NY style chopped cheese) are unique and packed with flavor and NYC flair. The vibe inside is super cute, and they even made the outside patio area look pleasant and inviting (especially when the weather gets nice). A perfect place for lunch. Quick and friendly locally owned business. The food is phenomenal, havent had myself a true chopped cheese but I could imagine they are on par. The owner is from NYC and is there often, always friendly. The outdoor patio is pretty with lots of plants, and you cant miss the yellow building with graffiti on the side. Hubs heard about this place through a local paper so we tracked it down. we ordered the sinatra with a side of potato salad. Love the uniqueness of this concept, though it seemed a bit pricey. A serving of potato salad (around 1/3 of a cup) was $5. I understand that inflation is a thing, and i understand needing to make a living.... but this seemed a little much. The sandwich, while delicious, was $13, and after two bottles of water, hubs and i spent more than we'd expected. It was good, and certainly worth a try, but i cannot say we'd eat it very often.
