Bar far my favorite and most recommended breakfast place in town, its a gem to be sure. It can get very busy here but at the time i went (11-1130) I was seated within 1 minute of walking through the door. The staff was very friendly and prompt with all requests. I ordered the crab cake benedict which was rich and decadent and the signature french toast with berries, bananas cream cheese and a cinnamon brown sugar glaze and it was divine but my favorite dish of that morning was the CREAM PUFF!!!!! Really great breakfast food or even lunch. The sandwiches were great, unfortunately they no longer have the awesome crepe puffs

We went here for a late breakfast and arrived maybe an hour before they closed. We walked in and sat down immediately. The space is filled with relatively few tables relative to the size of the space. There were just three other groups dining of the maybe 15 or 20 table in the place. It took maybe 10 minutes for them to bring out menus. We eventually got some water as well. We ordered our drinks but said we needed a few more minutes to order. Unlike an actual New York establishment, they took almost 15 minutes more before we had to prompt someone to order food. That seemed to upset two of the staff members who began to argue with each other in front of us. After we ordered food, we had them bring a cream puff/popover while we waited for our hot food. The popover was good but definitely a sugar overload even split between two people. The food came out and I took some ketchup for my plate but then a moment later the ketchup was taken from our table and given to another patron without asking us if we were done with it. I thought maybe the ketchup was being collected for the end of the day but there were other empty table that still had condiments so for some reason we weren't supposed to use the ketchup. All pettiness aside, the food was fine but nothing unusual or amazing. It is also incredible affordable which was great. Despite the terrible service, I would come back here to give it a second change and the food was certainly tasty. I would not order another popover. read more

what a great place! though it was bustling, the place was very clean and the service was prompt. my crab cakes benedict came out quick and were so good! since i was sitting at the counter, i overheard the server request more hollandaise sauce, which i appreciated. that's top notch service! my hashbrowns were ordered well done and were exactly that, which is a rarity. the parking situation is a little weird. the cafe is part of an auction house so it's a bit hard to find the correct entrance at first, but it certainly won't stop me from coming back. give this place a shot! read more

Great food and friendly staff! It's our regular breakfast spot. If you love homemade creme puffs you're in luck- these rival any I've had anywhere. One criticism- patrons are forced to endure highly opinionated Fox News while trying to enjoy their meal. I asked to change the channel one visit and was told they are not allowed to change it. Big Apple are you listening? Political shows should not be part of a dining experience! I have heard several customers in our visits voice this opinion. read more

Great restaurant. Glad we were recommended it by the courtyard Marriott. The tea wAs good and the service remarkable! Mom and I shared the garden omlette without spinach. The bread was perfectly buttered! The hash browns we're excellent! I loved the broccoli, scallions and cheese inside the omlette. The sour cream on top and the jelly was a nice touch. This is my favorite breakfast place on town. I prefer Joyce or Lisa as my waitress but the rest of the girls are awesome too. The food is delicious and it comes out fast! If you are getting toast I recommend the 9grain, its a little bit of an upcharge but it is sooooo much better than the wheat (which is burnt a lot of times.) They have so many different jellies too. The restaurant is a bit small and sometimes we have to park at the beverage source because there is not enough parking. They should definitely upsize because they are always busy. They always bring a coffee thermos when you order coffee which is awesome because then I don't have to wait for a refill I can fill it when I want. Lastly, they always ask if you want a cream puff before you leave. Everyone raves about these cream puffs, however I do not prefer them. They had carrot cake once and it was delicious but I haven't seen it in a while. I look for it everytime. read more

This is a nice find. Coffee is OK, not the best coffee but I have had worse; the second cup tasted better. The restaurant can seat a good number of people but the place gets loud. Nine tables with people and the volume was difficult to carry on a conversation. The food is excellent; the best home cooking away from home. The prices are a bargain for all you get. Just okay. The sausage was bland, however the eggs were cooked perfectly. The average age of the clientele was probably the reason why the sausage didn't have much flavor. Over all it was just okay right around Tee Jayes quality but more expensive. read more

Went here for breakfast and had the Traditional French Toast. It was soooo delicious. I was really looking forward to some biscuits and gravy, but they only serve them on the the weekends. excellent prices, delicious food, and totally local atmosphere! we were in town for a family event and stopped here this morning with a toddler before a 6+ hour drive home. not only as the service incredible, the breakfast was delicious. the staff knew many of the customers by first name. it's not a fancy joint (the grey carpet could go), but it's cute & relaxing - a definite must considering the very few options for breakfast in Newark, Ohio! Plus, check out the auction house that the restaurant is housed in. They have some fascinating antiques - well worth looking into if you are in the area! read more
