I usually love Panera, will drive out of my way for one. I was so excited when I moved to Heath find one very close. However, to my disappointment, the Heath ohio location is the worst Panera I have ever been in. They NEVER seem to have Romain lettuce( even if there are 5 grocery stores near by) The staff have plenty of time to laugh, joke have fun in the back, but no time to clean the tables out front. I have been there 3 times this year, and each time it does not seem to get better ( had to clean off a table to sit down and eat). My bread tasted stale, they do not have the pizza, and no one seemed to know that other Panera's have it. What a great disappointment! My friend and I were wanting to get Panera before a game we went to because of the nice chill outside and we wanted to be warm. We went through the drive through hoping to get out our food quickly and get to the game. We ordered fairly fast and got the window. Once we got there we remembered we forgot a bagel. We asked the woman at the front what types of bagels they had. When we did this the women was very snippy with us. She made it seem like a chore to do her only job. Once we got our food we also got hot chocolate and the tab in the hot chocolate was broken in half. Very poor awareness from the staff. Will not be returning to this Panera bread. read more

Unlikely to meet expectations. Always missing items/ingredients. Even before Covid this was an issue. Just went back to this location after taking over year break. Was hoping issues had been corrected, but no.No salad greens, but substituted romaine. Ok. No chips, Ok. No baguettes. What? Asked for substitute bread and was told can't do that, but can give apples. I asked to purchase a loaf of bread, and was told would have to wait as bread is in the oven. Pulled up to pickup window after placing order, was then told needed to substitute white bread on sandwiches for another type. I said would take crusty italian bread instead. Got home and had tomato Asiago Bread. Poor management is an understatement. Any other Panera location I have been to, has never had a problem. Went in to use our Sip Club for a charged up lemonade ten minutes before closing and figured it would be quick and no problem. Instead, the team was sitting in the dining room meeting and all of the employees stared at me while I was very confused trying to open the front door. It was locked, and only one of them bothered to mention through the window that they had closed. It was disappointing and extremely uncomfortable. If the hours don't accurately reflect when service is available they should be altered. read more

I wrote a scathing review four years ago. I want to retract the original review because I believe the current team at this Panera is exemplary. Way to go Heath Panera! Whomever took part in turning this location around should be proud of themselves. It's like a new store! Dining-in: The employees are so kind and helpful! They remind you what rewards you have available on your "My Panera" card. Customer service is on point. Props to the manager that works alongside the team; lead by example. Drive-thru: Packaging is much better! Lids are secure in soup so you shouldn't have messy issues. Food: Menu items are fresh, hot, and what you would expect with Panera. My only qualm is the dining area can get messy at peak times and sort of neglected. A quick clean-up every 1/2 hour or so should help with that. If you haven't been by recently, give Panera another chance. They have really improved! read more

I usually love the food here. My bowl of soup chicken noodle was too salty to finish this time. But I was more disappointed with the dining area on this trip. On 4/16/21, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the dining area. Every other table was closed off for social distancing. (Good!) When we arrived for dinner at 6:20 pm, none of the free tables were cleaned off. We brushed crumbs off the cleanest table we could find to sit to eat. In the 2 hours we were there, nobody came out to sanitize the open tables (all still dirty!) We could hear a lot of conversation behind the counter, but nobody came out to the dining area at all. Dishes were piling up on tables... I spoke to a person at 8 pm at counter, but still nobody came out in 5 minutes. Disappointing. Upon exiting, my dining companion used the restroom, which was also messy. She said it was as if somebody started cleaning then stopped midway. We were disappointed. I have had more issues with this place than not. Several times when I have ordered catering I've made sure the order was submitted early enough for them to prepare but it's often been inaccurate or not ready for pickup when asked. Because of this I have had to start using the New Albany Panera to fulfill my orders. I frequently use rapid pickup and this branch uses the term "rapid" loosely. Today they simply forgot the coffee I ordered. I was told when I arrived they were working on it, I then waited 7 minutes for my coffee I ordered an hour earlier to be prepared. Once again defeating the purpose of ordering ahead. If I had the time to wait 7 minutes for food I would've gone through the drive thru. In August I ordered a soufflé an hour before my pickup time. When I arrived the soufflé was not in my order. Instead of calling to let me know or leaving a note on my order to check in with the register I had to stand in line (which defeats the purpose of rapid pick up) to wait to talk with the cashier and was told it would be another 11 minutes before my soufflé was finished. I understand this is a limited quantity item, but there was zero communication as to why my order wasn't complete, and no offer of compensation or to change my order and reimburse me for the difference. So I then had to wait several minutes for a new item which made me late for work. I have worked in the food industry so I try to have patience - but it consistently happens and more often than not this has happened when the restaurant has not been busy. My biggest frustration is that there are no similar restaurants in the area other than traditional fast food which is why I have gone back despite several mishaps. However today was the straw that broke the camels back. Once again no explanation, no apologies just me standing and waiting and being late for work because this branch uses the term "rapid" loosely. read more

We have to leave a 1 star for this location though as today we found tiny bugs that looked like gnats dead in our Southwest Chili Lime salads. As stated in previous reviews regarding the Service or rather lack of, I can attest to their claims. I was the only customer in the place, there were plenty of staff, but they were too busy BS-ing with one another to put my salad together. I was standing at the counter waiting, watching these guys carrying on without any concern for my order. It wasn't until they were told I was waiting that the 4-5 of them accompanied the guy that made my salad. Next when he was done he plopped it down, went back to his conversation and never told anyone to bag it for me to take away. Finally the young lady came by placed it in a bag and handed it to me. We recently moved here. Usually love Panera. But this visit was not positive. My daughter ordered take out for me. The French Onion Soup was hot when it arrived home but there was no cheese. If there were ever croutons, they weren't visible. What I received for almost $8 was a cup of beef bouillon with a chopped onion inside. Not appetizing. Also, they were out of baguettes. That I can understand. But French Onion Soup without Cheese or croutons? I trashed it. It wasn't worth driving all the way back there. But I won't be returning. I ordered a chicken NOODLE soup in a bread bowl. Fairly easy right? It's 2:30 in the afternoon. I drive 39 minutes back to my house to only find out once I poured my chicken NOODLE soup into a bowl to microwave first. Well I found not 1 whole noodle in the entire bowl and don't forget the 3 pieces of chicken bites. I'm glad I paid 9$ for chicken broth. By far the worst Panera that I've ever been to. I'm a fan of Panera, but I typically have a bad experience at this one.

I wrote a bad review 12 months ago, after getting terrible service. We went there two days ago, because I thought, seriously how could they still be in business and not have fixed these problems? I could not be more wrong. Staff was unresponsive to us waiting to place our order - front counter wasn't even manned. Ice in drink machine was out of order. Food prep staff put my two separate kids orders ( mac $ cheese for one, grilled cheese for the other) on a single plate and forgot to include yogurt and bread initial I prompted them. Staff was bored, lost, and not engaged. The last 4-5 times I have been it seems as if they do not have a manager for dinner. Why do I keep coming back? The Panera brand is so strong I keep thinking it's going to get better. This is one of the worst locations of ANY franchise operators of ANY brand (including Sbarro) I have ever been to. I absolutely love Panera Bread, I go quite often. Although, this one is the absolute worst I have ever been to. I've gone quite a few times to the Heath location and have been let down every time. Very poor customer service, I am never asked or given a receipt (I usually have to ask), and every single time I have ordered I am missing items or I'm given the wrong food. This time I ordered a Mac n cheese bread bowl, they forgot the bowl, so I turned around and went in explaining to them and they wouldn't give me a bread bowl because I didn't have a receipt. I asked for a receipt at the window but the young lady told me it was too late because she had already swiped my card. My visit was the definition of mediocre. My order was incorrect, I was overcharged and my flatbread was dry and had bites that were very tasteless. There were ingredients added that weren't on the description and it was, well, weird. The employees seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than ensuring even average service. I thought about bringing up my concerns, but really didn't believe the staff working would care. I frequent a lot of Paneras when I travel, and I am delighted to say that this one in Heath, Ohio, meets AND exceeds my expectations of a Panera. When I fell outside of the building, Shift Manager Kate and her fellow employees were very helpful and comforting. A married couple found me on the ground in pouring rain, with blood running profusely. When they fetched employees, Kate came out, took charge, helped me clean up and took me inside to warm up and fill out an incident report. She gave me a jacket, and comped me a hot latte and bagel. Other employees asked how I was doing and expressed their sympathies. Panera employees are the BEST! When the drama was over, I could see that under the blood, the only damage was road rash on my face, a lot of soreness, and extreme embarrassment! I typically love Panera, but this is the worst location I've ever visited. My chicken noodle soup had no noodles and one piece of chicken. My grilled cheese was so burnt I couldn't eat it. I had to ask for the drinks I ordered. Unfortunately, I ordered carryout, so I didn't discover this until I arrived back at the hotel. They were out of the items I wanted to order, but I understand supply chain issues may be the problem. Lastly, I heard one of the staff say, "We don't have any salt or pepper packets." Terrible experience this morning. No everything bagels; was there before 9am. Ordered egg and cheese on brioche, it came on ciabatta. Plus, egg was over cooked. So much for over easy!! Ordered ham, egg, cheese, and roasted tomatoes sandwich; came with no tomatoes. Plus, looked like only half a sandwich. As much as the sandwich cost, I would expect a full sandwich.
