As I was inside last night picking up sodas for my bestie & I, I was greeted several times by working staff saying "hello" to me & when I walked up to the counter to purchase my items I was asked "how are you?." It's nice to be acknowledged when you walk into a business vs. being ignored. I walked by this amazing pastry cabinet & this big, piece of a carrot cake caught my attention. Everything else inside looked yummy & fresh. I had to control my sweet tooth temptation & keep walking. They have an awesome soda station & they even carried caffeine free diet coke. (I prefer to drink this to limit my caffeine intake) They carry one of those machines that is touch screen operated & have several selections of sodas to choose from. They also have coffee, tea & those slushy drinks. The store was big & roomy and I found it to be very clean. They have all sorts of snacks, booze, non-alcoholic drinks & they even carry an assortment of gift cards. It's located in a busy intersection off Elwyn Rd & Lafayette Rd. The gas pumps were pretty busy. I've never seen a gas station so busy (in a good way) before, not even when it was the Mobil. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't have to wait in a line as things move pretty smoothly inside nor did I see people's cars lining up for gas. Its easy to get in & out of. Some cashiers are more friendlier & upbeat then others. Had this one lame guy who seemed so miserable working there which is sad, be happy your employed & if you don't want to work there then go some where else! This CVS is one of my old stomping grounds as I worked as a pharmacy technician back in my twenties…read moreso I'm 100% a CVS customer!! I came in here the other day to get my 2nd shingles vaccine as I got my 1st one @ a CVS back in Las Vegas & knew that they would have a record of this because I wasn't sure of the exact date of when I did get my 1st shingles shot. The lady @ the pharmacy counter was very nice & was able to pull me up by my name & DOB. I had to update my insurance info as my plan changed the first of the new year. It was very busy when I stopped in here on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm. I didn't schedule an appointment for my vaccine as I was having trouble connecting to the CVS app. I tell ya the Verizon cell phone service in this area isn't the best. I was able to get my vaccine as a walk in even though it was busy. Jaime the pharmacist was the one who gave me my shingles shot. He was very friendly & nice to chat with. He gave me my shot without any issues (yes, the shingles vaccine does hurt! As I tell patient's "its not the needle that hurts its the medicine) & I had told him how I use to work here in my 20's. The pharmacy has grown as I counted probable about 5-6 people behind the counter. The store has even grown too. I have found that it has gotten more crowded with aisles/products, as if they put more in this store. There isn't much room to move down an aisle if there is someone else in it too. I did get my coupons from their coupon machine & did some shopping based on what coupons I had. I do find CVS to be more expensive than Walmart but with the coupons it helped by lowering the prices of some of the items that I wanted to buy. I did go to the self checkout (which I hate) & did have some problems with scanning my items but one of the employees came over right away & helped me fix the issues. I do find that it can be a pain in getting out of if you park on the smaller parking lot side so I went home the back way then trying to fit to get back out on islington street.
