The absolute worst service I have ever received in any restaurant. Order a rib and meat plate. They forgot the ribs. Instead of bringing me ribs, they took my plate that I already ate oof off because I had too much meat for the combo plate. 20 minutes later, still no food. Complete disregard for customer service. Nice atmosphere and good service. My wife and I each had combo plates. She had beef brisket and chopped pork and mine was ribs and chopped pork. The brisket was dry. The ribs were some the worst I have ever had. I expect the ribs we cooked days before. They were dry, little meat and poor quality cuts. I'll cook ribs in your parking lot and beat you all day long! They offer three sauce and we asked for all three on the side. The sweet was very sweet, the mild was ok nothing special and the hot was overwhelmed with tobacco. We really love good barbeque. But we don't want our BBQ drenched in sauce, so we are careful to order our plates with sauce on the side. What our waitress failed to tell us when we ordered was that their BBQ is cooked in sauce. So, our meat came to us with sauce on the side, but it was also cooked drenched in sauce and we couldn't eat it. We would have ordered something different if we had been told. read more

Came here for lunch while in town for work. You have to walk up to the counter to order and the menu is posted behind the cashiers which you can't really see until it's time to order. Lunch special of the day was a small bbq sandwich, fries and tea for $1.99, yeah I said $1.99. Score! I had the BBQ chicken sandwich. It was moist and I liked that they put a small amount of sauce on it so you can actually taste the chicken and put more sauce on it if you choose. Sauce was good, not to tangy, not too sweet. Some of the guys got the big sandwiches and they are definitely big, not sure I could finish one, especially at lunch! If you aren't in the mood for a sandwich, they also have meat plates, salads, and stuffed baked potatoes. Was pretty busy at lunch, which is usually a good thing. read more

Baked potato was overcooked and cold. We asked for hot bbq sauce and it had no heat to it at all. The ribs were tender and well cooked. Unless you like your cole slaw already chewed don't order it here. Husband ordered green fried tomatoes as his side. He got two about the size of a half dollar. Imagine the last slice of a loaf of bread that's been in the bag for a bit too long. Then imagine putting that slice into a toaster oven and keeping it in there until the bread is black. Now take a big bite. That was the consistency and sound of their ribs. Fantastically tough, charred to carbon on the outside which was poorly masked by their bbq sauce. If you're like me, you love good BBQ. Ribs should be cooked low and slow, with a little char if you want, and super tender. The ribs here make me think of what would happen if someone took a McRib and left it on a propane grill on high for an hour. The corn on the cob was cold. Not lukewarm, not "eh, probably set it under the heat lamp for a few minutes" - cold. The waitress asked if everything was okay. I TRIED to reply "The flavor is good, but these ribs are ridiculously tough." I got halfway through "good" before she said "Great!" and walked off at speed. It wasn't crowded, in case you were wondering. If you want good BBQ, at least good ribs, I'd look elsewhere. There are probably higher quality McRibs nearby if desperate. read more

There were only two of us & a family of seven came in after us and got their entrees before us , but when the appetizer came which was the "Redneck Chips" it was WELL worth the wait. They were seriously one of the best appetizers I've ever eaten. The Brunswick stew with my Big B BBQ sandwich was phenomenal ! On my BBQ sandwich, I asked for the hot mixed with the sweet sauce & it was perfect. We went for dinner Saturday night. Got there and placed our order at 7pm. If we hadn't been so hungry and hardly any other place to eat in this town, and already paid for our meal, we would have left. It was 8:30 before we got our food. It was almost COLD and items left off our order. We asked 4-5 times before we got our food if they had forgot us. Then the hamburger steaks were black and hard. My husband ordered his gravy and onions on the side. They were way on the side. As he didn't get it till he was finished with his meal. I and our granddaughter had gone to the counter 4 times to ask about the left off food. Then he finally got his green tomatoes, after he got the gravy. This was our first and last time to go here. There were other people at the counter complaining. One got a refund on their meal. We should have gotten one as well. NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! It's pathetic. Bad food, bad service, and no one cared. read more

We are here for the first time today. The wait was long and part of our food was cold. We ate anyway and the food was ok but, not worth the wait time or the price tag. We came home and within 2 hours, three of us had stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhea. I tried calling to speak with them, mostly just to let them know in case others got sick as well. I couldn't get past the busy signal so had to message them on Facebook. They were pretty unconcerned because they "hadn't received any other calls, but were sorry we don't feel well." Weird experience...walked in and the staff stared at our party. Walked up to order and staff were on their phones and we had to ask for menus. Fried green tomatoes were pretty good. Baked beans were straight out of a can with no flavor. Fries are the basic frozen and fried kind. Buns are stale. Brisket is extra fatty. Pulled pork had no smoke flavor. Quite possible they make it all in the oven with liquid smoke. Don't waste your $50 for 4 meals and tomatoes. read more

I love this place!! I go here almost every week. The service is good and the food is delicious. I recommend the boneless wings and fried pickles as appetizer. I would recommend the grilled chicken salad as entree, and they have the best bread pudding. They also make their own ranch, and it is out of this world. I don't necessarily like the decor because it is all stuffed animals. This place is amazing and recommend it 10/10. You will not be disappointed. read more

Never had a bad experience before last night! My husband and I will not be returning to big b anytime soon! We both came down with a mild case of food poisoning. My husband's hamburger steak was still red in the middle, not pink, raw red. He did not notice it the first few bites. My steak was over cooked, I had to substitute for my potatoes but the other half of our party received baked potatoes, service was off for the first time ever! My husband and I paid more than cash for this meal, we spent most of the night sick and with stomach cramps! The sad part was the owner is the one who runs the kitchen and cooked my husband's hamburger steak! Eat at your own risk here and be sure to pay attention to your food, cuz they won't! read more

Everything Southern food should be and more, as far as this yankee is concerned! Seriously, love their mild sauce (which still has a tiny zing, it's not your typical single note Alabama bbq sauce) and the beef is high quality. I actually usually go for their country fried steak which is enormous, pounded thin and tender, and crispy on the outside with choice of brown gravy with sauteed onions on top or white gravy if that's your jam. I usually pair it with greens, mac 'n cheese, or fried green tomatoes all of which are excellent. The brunswick stew is also really good, great if it's rainy out. So if you're around Alexander City on Hwy 280, check out this gem. It is positioned sort of behind a Jet Pep or some other filling station as well as a little diner, which I am curious to try, but not so curious that I can skip Big B's when I have the opportunity! read more

I dont know how the pork is prepared but it's not grilled my sandwich tasted like it was some kind of canned meat it's not real pit cooked. My husband's catfish was not great either he had to share with me because my barbeque was not good. The fries and tea were good but for the cost of the food we were really disappointed will not eat there again if we are ever in that town again. Would not give a star if it was possible. read more

Being I don't like barbeque, I got a hotdog which isn't hard to mess up. The hotdog was good, and the fries were okay. Everyone else loved their burgers and also thought the fries were okay. The food wasn't anything extraordinary, but everything tasted decent. Great service overall and friendly staff. The restaurant over all was clean , I went to this store last night 04/07/2017 and I really only have 1 complaint. I went in and ordered 1 lb. Chopped dry BBQ pork and requested 2 mild BBQ sauces on the side and the girl told me I couldn't get it dry chopped because the premixed it that way and I told her that by premixing it I wasn't getting my money's worth . You don't have to worry about me coming back but if it was my establishment I would give my customers the option for dry chopped or pre mixed because all your doing is less meat for more money and that is wrong no matter how you look at it. read more

The dining room was a disaster. We were never given menus. My husband finally went and gone some. We never had a server come to our table. I ate a lot here when they were at their old location and never had any problems, but after taking a job out of town I hadn't eaten the since they moved to the new location. My wife and I decided since it had been so long since the last time we ate here that we would have lunch here. We got there about 1 pm. The restaurant was kind of empty. We were seated and waited for our server. It was almost 20 minutes before the server came to take our drink order. She came back and took our order. My wife ordered the big cheese burger and I ordered the 10 piece hot wings. It was after 2 before we got our food. When the waitress sat the plates on the table I noticed an unusual smell coming from my wings. At first I thought it was the sauce they use. I took my first bite and quickly realized the chicken was spoiled. It had turn rancid. I spat out the bite I had taken. I called the waitress over and told her. She asked if I would like another order of wings or something different. I told her to bring me the same thing my wife had ordered......the big cheese burger. About 15 minutes later the waitress return with the smallest burger I had ever seen. It obviously wasn't the same thing my wife ordered as I had asked for. By now I was just frustrated and hungry so I began to eat the tiny burger. I picked up the ketchup bottle on the table to get some for my fries. It smell horrible, almost as bad as the chicken wings. I looked on the back of the bottle. By the date on the bottle, the ketchup had expired over 6 ago. When we got the check the bill was for over $40. They had charged me for 2 big cheese burgers and the wings. After any unnecessary argument with the manager, the bill was changed to just the one big burger and a kids burger. I can deal with bad service or a screwed up order but I will not eat anywhere that serves rotten or spoiled food. We will never eat there again. read more

So we have ate here several times. Never had a problem with the lunch plates. However the past few visits we have made at night. The service was super slow, and tonight I actually had to get up and go ask for butter. I should say we got there at 4pm they may have been 4 other guest we seen at least 4 servers. The pork skins we ordered were over cooked to the point of being leather. The beef brisket I ordered is was a waste of good meat. How could a BBQ restaurant not know how to properly cut a brisket. I hope they read this and take the time to learn that brisket is cut against the grain on a bias. My wife ordered a hamburger steak it would be hard pressed to say it was a 1/4 inch thick with perfectly uniform grill marks, and the taste was of a frozen patty. Even tho the server we ask before ordering stated it was fresh meat. Needless to say if we visit this restraint again it will be for lunch. read more
