I had heard great reviews about BBB and looked forward to eating there. Ordered eggs over medium and sausage. One egg was cooked over medium and the other one was clearly not as ordered - entirely runny. The sausage was tough and looked like it had been microwaved. To me, it was overly spicy - just not good. The biscuit was overcooked.. Boy, a real off day in the kitchen! My whole breakfast was sadly a bust. However, I must suggest that I'm certain my experience can't be typical, as it is very popular. I had a wonderful breakfast. There are a lot of good choices on the menu and I wasn't sure what to eat. Kylee had great recommendations that ended up being the perfect breakfast... exactly what I was looking for. The eggs Benedict was outside the box and really really good. We have not been there in a month or so. What a disappointment. The dish was smaller the biscuit was pitful it was hard and so small. They brought me a other biscuit it was still small. Very pricy for food not that good. Changing their quailty. They have gotten greedy. My Husbands omlette and fries were barely warm. So sad i can not see them making it. read more

Lots of menu options and we always enjoy our meal. Coffees are good with lots of variety. Service is good and food comes out fast. You can go to their website to get on the waitlist which is a HUGE plus for us especially when we have friends/family joining us. We also love that there is a good size self seat bar for when it's just two of us. read more

Cute place and could be good but the yard work skillet that I ordered was super small. Instead of avocado it was a small scoop of guacamole only five small cut red potatoes and small portion of veggies. $4 for a small coffee. For the price, I would expect a larger portion and a large coffee. read more

Horrible service. Felt very unwelcome. Came in patio door and didn't they weren't open for a few min waited at front and they took several people before me that just walked in. The girl walked past my table over and over and never checked my coffee or water. When I finally asked her for help she looked upset. Barely spoke English as well. Won't be back. Food was good tho. Busy as expected on a Saturday morning. Didn't take long and we found two seats at the bar. I did ala cart and enjoyed a solo pancake, grits (super yummy), and crispy hash cakes (wow - wish I'd have doubled up)!!!! My guy got the Big Bad Breakfast skillet and enjoyed the flavors. We stuck to coffee - but saw a lot of 'breakfast dudes' leaving the grill. Franklin is a different vibe then the Charlotte location. Food at both is excellent. I am almost at a loss for words. We decided to try BBB as it was close to our hotel in Franklin. Calling this restaurant friendly is an UNDERSTATEMENT. Before coming we called with a question regarding the food. Not only did Bre check for us, when she turned out to be our waitperson she remembered us. When we got to the table I spilled some items from my bag under the table, before I could look to see what they were the hostess was under the table recovering them. Now to the food. First menu substitutions are no problem and readily accepted. The food arrived hot and delicious, coffe and water always promtly replenished, and the portions generous.y wife commented " I can't remember when I enjoyed" a breakfast so much. Hmm... honestly, we don't see what all the fuss is about. We joined the virtual wait list in advance, and when it said the wait was an hour and a half, they meant every single minute of that. We had breakfast out on their patio, it was a bit windy, but still pleasant. The furniture whether your indoors are out is a wood and metal option that certainly hasn't known for its comfort. I had the shrimp and grits, it was good, but not an especially generous serving and certainly not the best I've ever had. I ordered a cold pressed coffee that is one of their specialties, and I will say it was very good. Hubby had a waffle, which unfortunately by the time it arrived at the table was already cold. Like so cold it wouldn't melt the butter. This is obviously an incredibly popular restaurant, but for our two cents, we will visit nearby other breakfast joints that in our opinion deliver a superior experience with less wait and cheaper to boot. read more

We've been living in Tennessee for just over 3 months now. (Joined the exodus from California). With our traveling over the past few decades we understand that food is unique by regions so I try to account for this in my reviews. Here in Tennessee things are not as health conscious and more "heavy". That being said, this is a good place. I had a skillet which came in an individual baking dish. This allowed the food to sit in the oil it was cooked in. Give it a lot of flavor and tasted great but again we're in the south when it comes to butter and oil. Pancakes were good and we love the homemade jam- peach and blackberry. Bacon was really good and the coffee was great. Biscutes are different in the south as opposed to California and we've learned to adjust. This was a good biscuit! Kena our waitress was so friendly and hospitable. If you like Maple Street Buscuit Company, you'll like this. Very similar in my opinion. Which means it's pretty good. I came with my son and he got chicken and waffles. He thought it was a little dry but tasty. I got the Big Bad Skillet and added some gravy for the biscuit. I thought the skillet was great! The biscuit was a little hard unfortunately. With two meals, two drinks, and $2 for sausage gravy the total worked out to about $20 per person after tax and tip. On the expensive side, IMO. Still, I'd come again. read more

Tried a new spot in Franklin the big bad breakfast! Tried the Bloody Mary 1/5, I love trying places bloody Mary's and this one just wasn't it and would not recommend. Huevos Rancheros was very good the mixture of cheesy grits, poached eggs and other elements were very tasty! Also the house made hot sauce was great The hostess was nice didn't care to smile much but no worry and our server did a good job also! Holy wow. I don't know how I didn't know about this place until now. But I'm so glad I found it! Came in for some brunch and was absolutely blown away. The inside is definitely small, be ready to sit very close to the table next to you. That being the case, we opted for the patio and it was nice out there. Ordered the Big Bad Breakfast Skillet which is three eggs scrambled, with bacon, sausage, ham, onions, potatoes, cheddar and comes with a biscuit (or toast). The scramble was delicious, plenty of cheese and almost too much meat (surprisingly). The biscuit had a decent flavor I guess, but was definitely too well cooked and slig burnt so it was all dried out and was missing the fluffiness, no butter to be seen. I added avocado - definitely wouldn't recommend that - instead of adding it to my scramble like I asked, they added it as a whole separate side at a steep $3 and sent out one that was a little over its freshness date for sure; not worth the addition at all. Service was good overall but they seemed short handed, our server was trying hard but we didn't even get her name she was so fast every time she came to us and the manager or someone else was the one who brought out our food. Friend recommended trying breakfast there - so I did with a group of musicians. (Who ranged from "food snob" to "I love Waffle House!") The menu has pretty much something for everyone except the super health conscious consumer. However - if you walk into a place called "Big Bad Breakfast" chances are you're not looking for a kale smoothie and responsibly source wheat germ. I had the Jack Benny - their take on eggs Benedict. Instead of an English muffin they use their hash brown. It was excellent- kudos on doing the poached eggs correctly. All of the food looked and tasted fantastic. Nothing was particularly high-brow. They need to fix the "get on wait list" system. We tried to eat there today. Got on wait list from home and time given was "30 - 40 minites" We got to restaurant and heard many people complaining about wait time being much longer than stated. We waited 30 minutes after our arrival time and still were not seated. Finally gave up and left. Oh well. read more

I'm not sure what happened to this place because it used to be good but the food quality has become poor and the service is really bad now. The only time our server was attentive was handing us the check and asking to take our plates when we all still had majority of our food left. We couldn't get any condiments, straws or anything to eat our food for awhile and had to eventually get up and ask for everything ourselves so we could finally eat. The fruit juice we ordered was fermented and spoiled and they got defensive and rude about it never bringing a new one back. We used to be regulars here but won't be back unfortunately. read more

Started when the hostess asked if we would mind being seated at a high top we responded that 'we love high tops', she then proceeded to seat us at a low table, and said a server would be with us shortly. They are HUGE cathead size, tangy, crispy and salty-buttery on the outside, tender and fluffy on the inside, with a savory, peppery flavor (but still delicious dunked in syrup). Everything was superb. The chicken sausage was slightly spicy-hot and seasoned just right. The omelette was the size of a car battery and they did NOT skimp on the meats in the filling. Pancakes were delicious even without syrup. I feel confident recommending this place to anyone looking for a good, hearty and DELICIOUS Southern breakfast. Once seated, we waited another 40 mins for the food AND the table seated after us got their food 15 mins before us?!?!? The waiter was very disorganized.
