Food is ok. Service at the bar was terrible. Not attentive at all the customers. More concerned with cleaning up. I had steak and eggs. It was suppose to be a rib eye. It had no seasoning and was tough. They serviced a high biscuit with no butter or jelly. I had to wave the waitress down as did the guy next to me to get it and he need more syrup. It took so long to bring it that someone else came and the guy asked for syrup it another person go it before our waitress came back. Popped in to BBB in Franklin for Sunday breakfast. Used their save your spot option which was awesome. I had the huevos rancheros grits and it was AMAZING! Cheese Grits, chicken sausage, pico, advocados, black beans, eggs and a magic sauce that I suppose was their 'cilantro' comtibution. all Together it is absolutely delicious!!!! Would totally eat it again! Mom had a little bit of a hard time finding something - because the special dishes have a lot of ingredients or are spicy, but was able to find just a egg and bacon plate. Busy as expected on a Saturday morning. Didn't take long and we found two seats at the bar. I did ala cart and enjoyed a solo pancake, grits (super yummy), and crispy hash cakes (wow - wish I'd have doubled up)!!!! My guy got the Big Bad Breakfast skillet and enjoyed the flavors. I was on a trip to Nashville/Franklin and this place was heavily recommended by everybody it was EXTREMELY well deserved. It was the best breakfast I've had for a while it was AMAZING!!! Everything was made in house and I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the chicken was perfectly seasoned and fired and it wasn't dry at all, and the waffles were the best I've had at any restaurant crispy on the outside yet thick and fluffy on the inside. The biscuits there were the best I had on my trip they were perfectly flaky and soft and just like the chicken it wasn't dry AT ALL. The bacon was cooked perfectly it wasn't fully rendered and crunchy but it wasn't raw and floppy. This was the best breakfast I had on my trip (all of my family agrees). The service there was amazing the waitress working was extremely kind and well versed on the menu. The actual restaurant was really cool artwork everywhere and it was really big. Huevos Rancheros was very good the mixture of cheesy grits, poached eggs and other elements were very tasty! Also the house made hot sauce was great The hostess was nice didn't care to smile much but no worry and our server did a good job also! I am almost at a loss for words. We decided to try BBB as it was close to our hotel in Franklin. Calling this restaurant friendly is an UNDERSTATEMENT. Before coming we called with a question regarding the food. Not only did Bre check for us, when she turned out to be our waitperson she remembered us. When we got to the table I spilled some items from my bag under the table, before I could look to see what they were the hostess was under the table recovering them. Now to the food. First menu substitutions are no problem and readily accepted. The food arrived hot and delicious, coffe and water always promtly replenished, and the portions generous.y wife commented " I can't remember when I enjoyed" a breakfast so much. Hmm... honestly, we don't see what all the fuss is about. We joined the virtual wait list in advance, and when it said the wait was an hour and a half, they meant every single minute of that. We had breakfast out on their patio, it was a bit windy, but still pleasant. The furniture whether your indoors are out is a wood and metal option that certainly hasn't known for its comfort. I had the shrimp and grits, it was good, but not an especially generous serving and certainly not the best I've ever had. I ordered a cold pressed coffee that is one of their specialties, and I will say it was very good. Hubby had a waffle, which unfortunately by the time it arrived at the table was already cold. Like so cold it wouldn't melt the butter. This is obviously an incredibly popular restaurant, but for our two cents, we will visit nearby other breakfast joints that in our opinion deliver a superior experience with less wait and cheaper to boot. read more

We've been living in Tennessee for just over 3 months now. (Joined the exodus from California). With our traveling over the past few decades we understand that food is unique by regions so I try to account for this in my reviews. Here in Tennessee things are not as health conscious and more "heavy". That being said, this is a good place. I had a skillet which came in an individual baking dish. This allowed the food to sit in the oil it was cooked in. Give it a lot of flavor and tasted great but again we're in the south when it comes to butter and oil. Pancakes were good and we love the homemade jam- peach and blackberry. Bacon was really good and the coffee was great. He thought it was a little dry but tasty. I got the Big Bad Skillet and added some gravy for the biscuit. I thought the skillet was great! The biscuit was a little hard unfortunately. With two meals, two drinks, and $2 for sausage gravy the total worked out to about $20 per person after tax and tip. On the expensive side, IMO. Still, I'd come again. read more

Holy wow. I don't know how I didn't know about this place until now. But I'm so glad I found it! Came in for some brunch and was absolutely blown away. I'm not sure what happened to this place because it used to be good but the food quality has become poor and the service is really bad now. The only time our server was attentive was handing us the check and asking to take our plates when we all still had majority of our food left. We couldn't get any condiments, straws or anything to eat our food for awhile and had to eventually get up and ask for everything ourselves so we could finally eat. The fruit juice we ordered was fermented and spoiled and they got defensive and rude about it never bringing a new one back. We used to be regulars here but won't be back unfortunately. read more

The inside is definitely small, be ready to sit very close to the table next to you. That being the case, we opted for the patio and it was nice out there. Ordered the Big Bad Breakfast Skillet which is three eggs scrambled, with bacon, sausage, ham, onions, potatoes, cheddar and comes with a biscuit (or toast). The scramble was delicious, plenty of cheese and almost too much meat (surprisingly). The biscuit had a decent flavor I guess, but was definitely too well cooked and slig burnt so it was all dried out and was missing the fluffiness, no butter to be seen. I added avocado - definitely wouldn't recommend that - instead of adding it to my scramble like I asked, they added it as a whole separate side at a steep $3 and sent out one that was a little over its freshness date for sure; not worth the addition at all. Service was good overall but they seemed short handed, our server was trying hard but we didn't even get her name she was so fast every time she came to us and the manager or someone else was the one who brought out our food. Started when the hostess asked if we would mind being seated at a high top we responded that 'we love high tops', she then proceeded to seat us at a low table, and said a server would be with us shortly. The coffee is FANTASTIC. I've only recently started drinking my coffee black as I have found only good coffee needs nothing added to it. And this coffee was wonderful. I also ordered the Huevos Rancheros per the bartender's suggestion and it was wonderful. The grits are creamy, the sausage nice and spicy. All the flavors come together wonderfully. Now, if you're gonna serve breakfast in the South you've gotta get the biscuit right. This place has gotten their biscuits BETTER than right! They are HUGE cathead size, tangy, crispy and salty-buttery on the outside, tender and fluffy on the inside, with a savory, peppery flavor (but still delicious dunked in syrup). And, it's one of many delicious things they do better than most places. **SERVICE NOTE** Before I go further I must mention our fantastic waitress, Bre, who welcomed us warmly when she found out it was our first time, was super patient as we asked questions, made great recommendations, and was just the right level of attentive even though the place was busy. ** Between us we had pancakes, an omelette, the giant biscuit, and a side of chicken sausage. Everything was superb. The chicken sausage was slightly spicy-hot and seasoned just right. The omelette was the size of a car battery and they did NOT skimp on the meats in the filling. Pancakes were delicious even without syrup. I feel confident recommending this place to anyone looking for a good, hearty and DELICIOUS Southern breakfast. This new, intriguing breakfast joint is just that. New and intriguing...so much so that far too many folk are intrigued, so plan to wait in line (unless you're a single who can find a seat at the bar.) As with everything new, it's got some rough spots. Add the blessings of unmasking COVID and some spots just get rougher. Just make sure the buggy's all gassed up and your expectations are throttled down a bit because your mileage will certainly vary. Food and service were just OK. Nothing knocked my socks off. Maybe it will for you? The Bloody Mary was so high on the menu of big, bad specialties that I had to try it. It's visually pleasing, but after a few sips, I wiped Mary's salty lipstick off my whiskers and left her seated at the bar. Just not my type. (If you and salt don't see eye-to-eye: just avoid her altogether.) For eats, I liked the look of the Jack Benny. No one could pinch a penny tighter than ol' Jack, but BBB's trying. Don't be surprised if the waiter asks if you're o.k. with poached eggs. A Benedict uses poached eggs as a standard. You know this if you've eaten one anywhere else or took time to read the menu ingredients. (A lot of new folk must not grasp that and most every other egg on the menu is scrambled.) The Benny's downer was that Jack had thinned the flavor out of the hollandaise. Pricing seems in line with every new establishment in the San Franklinsco area. We went on a Sunday morning around 9:30 and there was already an hour wait. The staff was very friendly though while we waited and even offered us water and continuously apologized for the long wait. Once we were seated our drink and food orders were taken as soon as we were ready and everything was brought to us very quickly. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was AMAZING! I raved about the cold brew! We were visiting from out of state and this has easily become a new go to favorite when we come to Nashville. read more
