First, the service- Our waiter, Z, had awesome service! Really took time to connect and answer questions! Second, the food- I enjoyed my fried chicken, although I wish the honey dusting was a bit more pronounced. The goat cheese grits were superb. The blueberry cold brew was amazing! Sweet, but not too sweet! I got the banana pudding to go and am currently enjoying it in my hotel room! It's delicious!

Taste: 4/5 Value: 4/5 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: 5/5[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Tupelo Honey has a really good selection of Southern-inspired dishes and generous portions. The food tasted pretty good across the board, nothing amazing but all good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What really stood out to me was how well the restaurant seems to cater to big groups, the space and service felt really accommodating, making it a great spot for a big family gathering or a work get-together.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a relaxed, group-friendly place with tasty food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Bloody Mary...a meal in a glass. Robust, spicy but not too spicy, though you can get something spicier if you want.

There's brunch, and then there's *brunch*. It's one thing to have a lunch menu, and throw in eggs and mimosas. It's quite another thing to put a lot of creativity and effort into what you're serving. That's what Tupelo Honey gives you: *brunch*. I ordered an omelette with steak, cheddar, and mushroom. This was a thick, fold over kind of omelette, stuffed with the filling. You get to customize your own omelette here, with plenty of choices. The steak was good, but nothing compared to the steak in my wife's steak and eggs. Wow was that good. The crispy potatoes were absurdly good. Made with a touch of rosemary and Parmesan cheese, I found myself going "mmm, mmm" with each bite. Less great were the cheesy grits, which were merely OK. But, that was still better than the biscuits, which I ordered and never received. The Bloody Mary was terrific. Just enough spice, with olives and bacon to make it a meal in a glass. My wife's peach mimosa was also very good. If I come back for lunch or dinner, I see that they have a fully stocked bar with plenty of draft beer selections. The service wasn't great. I ordered a large Bloody Mary, and got a regular sized one. The kitchen messed up my friend's vegan sausage (twice) but he liked what they eventually brought out. At least the food came out fairly quickly. I like the care with which they assemble the meals, and I would definitely come back here for brunch. I would also be willing to try Tupelo Honey for any meal, for that matter. The mediocre service took away from things a bit, but not enough to keep me away.

My first experience at Tupelo was in Knoxville and I loved it. I took some out of town friends to the Franklin location and it didn't disappoint! Great service from Alex. Very friendly and attentive. One of my friends is Gluten Free and he was quite pleased with the options he had. I did the fried chicken with green beans and cheese grits. My wife did the salmon. Can't wait to return! Nice sized servings and prices as well.

Hmm... it was good enough to go back and try another item on the menu, but I was expecting more. Maybe had I went with no expectations, then I might have given 5 stars. The burger was just okay. Good burger, but nothing spectacular... worth $15? Not again... I will stick with the chicken and waffles. We had the dark meat with the sweet & spicy sauce in the side. Wish we got the half bird because it was fried perfectly. Enjoyed the light crispy crunch and juicy interior. Definitely will try it with the original next time. For a starter, we had the brussel sprouts. It was good with a little bit of the sauce, but I'm not a fan of blue cheese. That bit of crumble stayed on the plate drowning in the orange-colored gravy / sauce. Hubby enjoyed his free refills of Coca-Cola. lol That isn't as common nowadays. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Gracie isn't a name I've heard since 8th grade. She was fantastic and very likeable! We liked the updated interior and simple decor... felt comfortable like going to a friend's house. Simple menu. Their chicken and potatoes are the shining star!

I really had high expectations for Tupelo after seeing the great reviews. My shrimp and grits looked really good but it didn't taste that great. Not sure if there was chorizo in it but it was saturated in oil. My husband's hot chicken and waffles made up for it. That was really spicy and good. Our waitress seemed really rushed though. We ordered banana pudding and that was really runny. Flavor was there but it definitely needed to set. I have to say Our drinks were great.

This was a new breakfast spot for us in Franklin. The location is super convenient since it's right across the street from the hotel we stay at many times. The restaurant is very large and for those not strolling in from the hotel, there's plenty of parking. The food was excellent! I really enjoyed the Farmhouse Breakfast Platter with grits. Like most places in the Nashville area, the biscuits were great. There were 9 of us at breakfast, including 2 kids, and we all thought the food and service was very good!

My dad and I recently visited Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar while on a Spring Break daddy-daughter trip. Orange Cinnamon Roll Old Fashioned: I love a good Old Fashioned, so I knew I wanted to try this. It was definitely sweeter than most Old Fashioneds, but the taste was very flavorful. The cinnamon syrup truly came through and the brown sugar rim (or maybe it was raw sugar) was a nice twist. Famous Fried Green Tomatoes: This appetizer order came with 3 fried green tomatoes atop a plate of heirloom grits, drizzled with roasted red pepper sauce. The grits were super creamy and flavorful, and paired well with the fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes added the perfect amount of crunch and "tang" along with the roasted red pepper sauce. Bourbon Peppercorn Glazed Meatloaf: I was very intrigued by this meatloaf because of the combination of beef and chorizo. Let me tell you, it was a very meaty meatloaf, but it was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. The bourbon glaze gave a nice hint of sweetness. The meatloaf came with 2 sides, and I selected the Rosemary & Parmesan Crispy Potatoes and Salt & Pepper Crispy Brussels Sprouts. The potatoes were super crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and were generously seasoned with rosemary. The brussels sprouts were awesome. This was a LARGE meal, so I had more than enough to take home for leftovers. My Dad tried the Comfort Duo: a classic grilled cheese and tomato soup. There was nothing left on his plate at the end of the meal, so I think it is safe to say he enjoyed it. The restaurant is HUGE, so they can accommodate larger-sized parties. The service was friendly and swift. Kudos to them for a wonderful experience! #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad

First time dining for dinner and it was decent. Portion sizes were average for the price range. Onion ring appetizer was about ten bucks and was enough for two people to get a few. Smashburger was average, was a little dry and flavorless. My wife had the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich and she enjoyed it with a side of macaroni and cheese. Service was decent, but there was a large function so I wouldn't rate it given it was not the normal night. Glad we got a chance to try, not sure I'd return.

Tupelo Honey was the (almost) perfect birthday lunch spot. Although the menu is mostly giving brunch they do have a few good lunch/dinner options. They weren't too busy for a Friday lunch so my dad and I were seated quickly. They had open patio seating but we chose a booth inside. The service was great and offered good recommendations. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as a starter and they tasted sooo good! The standout was the red pepper coulis and the hot crispy tomatoes of course! My only complain about this dish was that the coulis and the grits were a lukewarm. For entrees I got the blackened Mahi with rosemary and Parmesan crispy potatoes and my dad got the Smokey mountain flat iron with Brussel sprouts. The Mahi was definitely a star! Juicy, flakey, and swimming in a lukewarm basil citrus butter sauce. Again I wish the sauce was hot it just brings the dish together. My dad's steak was ordered medium it came out extremely pink. My dad is not one to send food back but he had to this time. The staff was very kind about it and worked on bringing him a replacement steak. Sadly the new and cooked to perfection new steak took about 30 minutes to arrive and did not come out with the sauce that was supposed to go on it. Literally a lonely steak on the plate. Considering how the first steak was incorrect on their part I would've appreciated a bit more intent in getting the replacement served properly. All in all, it was a nice lunch. Would definitely recommend if you're in the Franklin area.

Ask the Community - Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar

They come up in an Internet search for "Restaurants with meeting/party rooms". Is it true that they have a separate meeting/party room?

Their food quality when we visited was marginal. Consider other options unless you are dead set on using their venue.

    Do you need a reservation?

You don't need a reservation, but setting one on Open Table will get you seated much faster on crowded nights.

Do they have happy hour specials as of January 2023?

From their website: Join us in the bar to enjoy specials like $5 cocktails and snacks, Monday - Friday from 3-6PM!*…

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

    No they dont

Are brunch items available all day and evening on Sunday?

All except the Benedict and omelet

    Is this restaurant Diabetic friendly?

I think so. They have a wide variety to choose from. Our server mentioned that the Tupelo honey is fine for diabetics too. We are not diabetic though.

It's a bit dark inside but the decor is really nice. It was extremely loud when we first sat down but the volume improved when a large group next to us left. I like that we can see the kitchen at work from the dining area. They have a great cocktail program, I highly recommend you try some. The food was great from the start. They brought us a complimentary truffle gnocchi since it was our first time there and it was excellent. The apps were great, with the bread and butter(s) and the brisket buns standing out. Mains were well executed, with my personal favorite being my girlfriend's filet. The desserts were also great and the flavors matched the season. One of our guests had a nut allergy and they did a great job accommodating us. The server was eager to talk but never encroached on our experience. I'd love to go back next time I'm in town!

This was our "splurge" dinner on a trip to Franklin, TN. My friend we were visiting had been before…read moreand had raved about it, but even she agreed this visit just wasn't up to snuff. The place is beautiful, but we were seated in the least interesting area. My friend said it used to be an open patio and was renovated for more indoor seating, which makes sense, but it lacked any real atmosphere. When I am spending this kind of money I want a slow, leisurly pace, and this felt rushed. Yes, we probably could have asked the waiter to slow things down, but we didn't. I ordered a specialty cocktail - the Midnight Sun that was delish - it was layered and around $16. The waiter then brought out what ended up being the highlight of the meal, a little treat from the chef. It was a creamy gnocchi dish to share, about three pieces each, super rich and honestly I could have eaten 20 more. We also spilt the bread flight. The bread was good but I wasn't a fan of the spreads, I'm a BUTTER person, these were more like bean spreads. The brussels sprouts with pork were also really good. Hubby and I split a mixed green salad that was pretty mediocre, and the croutons were almost too hard to chew. Then came the pork, which was a dissapointment. It was so tough it actually got caught in my throat a couple times despite chewing it well. We didn't even finish it. For the price, it should have been tender and full of flavor, and it was neither. My friend ordered the duck pasta and said it had "weird pieces of meat" in it. Her husband got the filet and loved it, so at least someone at the table was happy. We skipped dessert after most of us had disappointing entrees. I guess the good news is they rotate the menu every few months, so maybe it would be a totally different experience next time.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by one of the sweetest hosts, who made us feel genuinely welcome. We had made a reservation, and our table was ready immediately, making for a smooth and stress-free start to our meal. I would highly recommend making a reservation at least a day in advance--two days if you're visiting on a weekend or during peak travel times. It was clear this place is popular, and for good reason. Our server, Cody, truly made the experience unforgettable. Hands down, he is the best server I've ever had anywhere. He took the time to thoroughly walk us through the menu, explain the daily specials, answer all of our questions, and offer recommendations based on what we were looking for. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality elevated our entire dining experience. We ordered the pancakes, omelets, and of course, the famous biscuits. The biscuits absolutely deserve the hype! They were warm, buttery, fluffy, and practically melted in your mouth. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious, and the omelets were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. One thing I really appreciated is that while Loveless Cafe offers a supper menu in the evenings, breakfast is served all day. That's perfect for anyone like me who believes breakfast tastes good no matter what time it is! It's easy to see why Loveless Cafe has become such a Nashville staple. Between the warm Southern hospitality, outstanding service, and incredible food, this was an experience we'll be talking about long after breakfast. If you're visiting Nashville, or even if you're a local who hasn't been yet, put Loveless Cafe at the top of your list. And if you're lucky enough to have Cody as your server, you're in for an exceptional experience!

Don't be shy with the BBQ sauce, it really takes everything to the next level. The platter comes with two sides. I chose one vegetable, baked beans, and one fruit, banana pudding. For those not from the South, macaroni and cheese is considered a vegetable, and banana pudding is absolutely a fruit. That's just science around here! I went with the Hogwood Sampler which comes with chicken, sausage, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, plus mac-n-cheese on the side. All in it was $27.89 plus tax, which feels like pretty fair market value for the amount and quality of food you're getting. The food itself was incredible. Way too many barbecue places lean way too hard on sauce to do the heavy lifting. That is not the case here. Every single meat had deep, legit smoky flavor on its own and honestly didn't even need sauce. That said, the sauces were also excellent. The Alabama white paired perfectly with the chicken, and the spicy tomato-based red sauce had a great kick without overpowering anything. Drink selection was another pleasant surprise. They've got Coke products and Tractor Organic Beverages. I mixed their unsweet tea with the Tractor mango and made myself a mango tea that worked way better than it had any right to. If I had to nitpick, the side selection is a little limited for my personal taste. I'm always hoping for fries or hush puppies, though to be fair that's not uncommon for BBQ joints around here. I also ran into a sticky spot on the table that clearly hadn't been fully wiped down from a previous guest. That said, the food was good enough that it still lands as a five-star experience for me. Hogwood BBQ is an excellent choice if you're looking for seriously good barbecue in Franklin.

It's a counter service joint; you walk up, order, and then someone runs the food to your table. First off, they asked for a point of service tip; that bugs me when I'm ordering my own food at the counter and fetching my own drinks. The menu is fairly standard for a southern BBA joint; brisket, pulled pork, ribs, turkey, chicken. I am generally suspicious of any place that offers chopped brisket. Brisket is meant to be sliced and enjoyed as a slab of meat, not as a pile of hash. So, the chopped brisket sandwich was out for me. I asked if the brisket platter would be served as slices, and they assured me it was, so I ordered brisket with two sides. They recommended the beans and the Mac 'n cheese, so that's what I went with. They also asked me if I wanted the meat lean, marbled, or half and half; I took that as a good sign, and asked for marbled. They food came out in about 5 mins; just enough time for me to head to the soda fountain and fill my own cup. Maybe they should tip me? On the plus side, the portions were pretty large. I'm guessing that the served at least 6-8 ounces of brisket, and the individual sides were pretty large as well. On the other hand, whoever sliced the brisket simply didn't know what they were doing. They sliced it WITH the grain, producing slices full of stringy meat. Stringy meat that was hard to cut with the plastic cutlery provided. I find it hard to believe that anyone who regularly serves BBQ brisket doesn't know to cut the meat against the grain. The meat appeared to feature a nice bark; however, on further exploration, a) the bark was so tough that it couldn't be cut as all with the plastic cutlery, and b) when I tore into it with my fingers and ate a piece, it had no taste. Not even a basic Texas salt and pepper rub could be detected. A large portion of tasteless, poorly cut meat does no one any favors. The beans were a little underdone; IMHO, that's far better than mushy, overcooked beans. However, they, too, had no flavor. No spice, nada. The mac and cheese was shells in a white cheese sauce. Strike 3; zero flavor for the sauce. I don't know how you can make cheese sauce without flavor, but they managed to do so. I have never, ever thrown as much food away at a a BBQ joint than I did today. What a shame. Not recommended, not even a little bit. Try Martin's or Edley's; if you prefer a chain, Mission BBQ will do you much better than Hogwood.
