We have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed it, which makes today's experience particularly disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the service was terrible. While we were waiting, we watched multiple parties who did not appear to be on the waitlist get seated ahead of us, including a party of two being seated at a four-top. When I politely asked the hostess about it, rather than simply explaining what was happening, she responded with an attitude that was completely unnecessary. In fact, I actually apologized to her in an effort to diffuse the situation because I was concerned that asking a reasonable question was going to result in poor service. Unfortunately, that concern turned out to be justified. Our waitress was equally unpleasant and inattentive. At one point we saw her smirk at the hostess as if she "took care of us." She got our order wrong, didn't give us silverware for some time even after she acknowledged that we still needed silverware to eat our food that was now getting cold and then brought our drinks after we were finished eating. The entire experience made us feel as though we were an inconvenience rather than longtime customers who have chosen to come back here repeatedly. Everyone can have an off day, and restaurants can certainly get busy. What was so disappointing wasn't having to wait--it was the attitude and lack of basic hospitality from more than one member of the staff. We have enjoyed this restaurant many times in the past, but today's experience was bad enough that it will make us think twice about returning. read more

Amanda, our server, arrived with a 5 star smile and was back with coffee in about a minute ( and it was good coffee). We ordered a veggie omelet and breakfast skillet. My omelette veggies were delicious, the egg could have been a bit more substancial. My husband said the skillet was tasty and he wished the portion had been larger. I also ordered a bruleed grapefruit- which could have been excellent if the sections had been cut or it was served with a grapefruit spoon... instead I mangled it ... Once seated, we were promptly waited on. We ordered a couple of Bloody Mary's, coffee and water. The Bloody Mary's ($10 each) were really good. Coffee and water were refilled frequently by our friendly waitress. For breakfast, I ordered the creole omelet. While I could have used more creole sauce, it was filled generously with shrimp, andouille sausage and vegetables. The greens accompanying the omelet were refreshing. One of my dining partners loved her chicken and waffles. She said the honey glaze on the chicken was good enough to not need syrup on the waffle. My other dining partners loved their skillets; but felt they could have been a little more generous in size. Expect parking to be at a premium. Expect it to be kind of noisy. We got in fast, despite it being a Saturday morning. Despite it being busy the server was friendly and attentive, coffee was served quickly and our order was taken. Although there wear plenty of espresso drink options, the coffee stood its own. The grits were fluffy and flavorful and I would definitely order them again, regardless of what I choose as my main dish. The chicken and waffles were amazing! The chicken was crispy and juicy, and just the right amount of spiciness. Generous portions, and everything was piping hot when served. The waffles were really good, distinct waffle favor- not just pancake mix like other places. They were perfectly cooked and perfect combination with the fried chicken. Kudos to the kitchen staff! I could see them making another batch of the biscuits, I'd like to try them next time. There were large groups, and smaller tables closer to the bar where one could dine solo or if you wanted to come in for a quick bite. We love BBB. We frequent the Franklin location, have been to other locations out of state and come to the Nashville location when around. We end up disappointed each time we visit the Nashville location. At our most recent visit, we stood for several minutes (maybe close to 10!) as the line grew and went out the door while employees were standing around conversing with one another. After being seated, service was just ok- as it is every time. Sat around awhile, went without refills, didn't see our server until meals were finished. Honestly, we feel like bad service is prevalent here. We come back because we like BBB's food, which is never an issue at this location, but if I didn't like the food, I would never come to this location again. I vote yes to and recommend BBB a lot but I have started to state "but maybe not the Nashville location!" and hate that! Wish service would get better here!! read more

Eggs, bacon and pancake (BBB plate). The peach jelly was delish! I appreciate Dez finding brown sugar for my coffee. Ended up with cinnamon instead of sugar on day two .
